  • Is this a fingertip mouse .. and does it even matter because i do use my fingertips only so i don't know if it would actually work against me if it doesn't .

  • just one questione, I know it does has the software but can you increase and decrase the sensitivity even without installing it? (I own an mx518 wich is getting old but can do that without installing the program)

  • @mosquiton001 I'm not entirely sure, but why would you not install it?

  • because the less application I run the better it is, i don't like having too much processes running for no reason.. not to mention that "plugging it and using it" right away it's a great time saver when you use your mouse on multiple different computer or you reinstall the O/S from scratch ;) Actually I will still stick to my mx518, the day it will break o wear too much I will give this a "shot" for sure BTW ;)

  • @mosquiton001

yes you can, but getting the drivers is better so you can get them more optimal.

  • @vapru good to know!!! thanks :D

  • Nice mousepad

  • @Lasse2383 Thanks. He's been through more wars than you could ever imagine. I had to put him out of commission a couple years ago, not long after shooting this video. R.I.P. mousepad. You served me well.

  • hahaha look at the gorgous dynamic good quality mouse and then look at the mouse pad xD ty for vid

  • @ba77ar90 LOL! I agree, my mouse pad at the time looked like shit.

  • All I'd like to know is if the scroll wheel button is difficult to press down like on the extremely similar Alienware Tact-X mouse.

Thanks for your response ahead of time.

  • @Chaossangel It was at first, for sure, but after using it for a long while it wasn't.

  • @Chubzdoomer Thank you. Hmm, that's about the only thing bad about it. I'm debating whether to purchase the Logitech G9 or the Logitech MX 518.

  • @greatzygote whoops, wrong account. This was from me.

  • i died before i watched this video, now im just having a seizure...

  • @SADFACE1000 Maybe you just need a swift kick to the testicles.

  • @Chubzdoomer didnt change anything....

  • @SADFACE1000 Well, shoot.

  • Don7bl1nk recommended it to me

  • bought this bad boy today, upgraded from a G5, ill post back in a few months (if i remember xD) to see which one i liked better

  • @Chubzdoomer You only have one hand?

  • @canotolto Yes. I have a camera built into my forehead (the one used in this video) and I'm so fast, with just one hand I can switch back and forth between the mouse and keyboard in shooters and nobody even knows it. Who's your daddy now!

  • @Chubzdoomer rofl

  • i was so bored im searching youtube and found this great review, never knew about those things here in logitech g9. this mouse is damn epic

  • im maxing 28g of weight

  • I thought about getting razer's Deathadder. But after seeing how customizable G9 is, I know what to buy.

  • T2DARLANTAN?!?!?

  • "Ri-geed"

  • @taekwondoboy23 It's pronounced "rijid," I know, but it's just one of those words I've grown to pronounce based on how it looks rather than using its proper pronunciation.

  • Woot good on you mate great review SaikyoDanSRK is a pussy little bitch =)

    Great review =)

  • I wish this mouse was wireless...

  • Southern accent!! ;)

    Nice video though...

  • Great review i found it very helpful.

  • I'm sorry but this review ticked me off. I was looking to buy this mouse, and I found this review, and instead of reviewing the mouse, you just showed the features. Thanks for wasting my time.

  • @SaikyoDanSRK Showing the features IS reviewing the mouse, you fucking moron. What else am I supposed to do? Move the mouse around and talk about how smooth it is? It's a pricey mouse, so you should already know that it has a high DPI and provides a better experience than other mice. Really, the only thing that sets apart expensive mice are their features, which is discussed in detail in this video. If you don't care about the features, what exactly is it you were wanting to hear?

  • @Chubzdoomer Wow, I was shocked by your utter rudeness. "you fucking moron". Why don't you show some respect, I was respectful in my comment and you chose to profanely insult me, why? Showing the features is not reviewing the mouse, look up a review of a thing like a game, they discuss the features AND what they like about them. You missed the second part. I can't link on youtube, but I watched another review outlining the key points AND what he liked about it. You failed to do so.

  • @SaikyoDanSRK You were not respectful, saying in your earlier comment that I "wasted your time." As far as I'm concerned, YOU are wasting MY time with your holier-than-thou bullshit. You were shocked? Please. It's the Internet. Don't be a bitch. What I like about the mouse is its features - the interchangeable grips, weights, and DPI-on-the-fly changer. That should have been obvious given the facts that I took the time to show the mouse to begin with and voiced no complaints in the video.

  • @Chubzdoomer I didn't swear at you and insult you. I was shocked, because you were unprovoked and insulted me for no apparent reason. I'm not being "holier than thou", I just don't see why you need to be so abrasive and rude. The way you described the features was so matter of fact, I had no idea you liked the mouse, it sounded like you were just giving a demo, not a review.

  • @SaikyoDanSRK I never said you sweared at me or insulted me, I just said you weren't respectful because you told me my video was a complete waste of your time and came off as a complete jerk in the process. What goes around comes around. When it's all said and done, one thing can be learned from this experience: Chubz doesn't play around.

  • @Chubzdoomer "not playing around", would normally be considered as doing something badass. You just used profanity and unnecessary anger. Your review was sub-par, I let you know, deal with it.

  • @SaikyoDanSRK 8,224 views, 45 thumbs up as opposed to 5 thumbs down. Yeah, the review is definitely sub-par. Now, get the fuck out.

  • @Chubzdoomer

My bet is, he wants to hear how you're killing people 100 times better in Counter Strike because the mouse is a gaming mouse! Woohoo!

    Good review by the way.

  • I'm Gonna' Buy Me A Shrimp Boat!

  • @CigarsAreBest I'm Gonna' Shove My Steel-Toed Boot Five Feet Up Your Vagina!

  • YAY i got this mouse this week :D

  • I got both and think the G9X is much better than the Mamba

  • can you palm grip it?

  • @kaelthebest Yes, if you use the smooth grip. The one that's a little more rough is more thin, so it's a little difficult to palm grip.

  • razer mamba is cooler. its wireless it has the coolest design ever. razer beats this one by miles. this one is still good.

  • @superbllyboy i had a mamba its shitty and the laser fucked after 2 months. and its for midgets with tiny hands

  • @superbllyboy I've got to try one of those sometime. A wireless mouse would be a pretty nice thing to have with all these cables running everywhere.

  • can you press the middle mouse button down?

  • @asdfxyz1 Yep

  • lol iam using G9 too for long time but its strongly "NOT" recommended to change ur cover of ur mouse on this way! Becouse the Mouse cable is the first thing that will break anyway and with that handle u just forward this xD

  • Awesome review.

  • good review:D

now i'm definitely going to buy this mouse

  • Just ordered it and looking forward to this thing arriving, Crysis was also used to promote this mouse back when the game was still new.

  • I just bought this mouse from BestBuy for 45$ like everyone else is doing. I'm hella excited for it. All the reviews are positive and it will definitely be an amazing upgrade over my random-ass Microsoft compact mouse.

  • lol the turret aint gonna move fast

  • @MrCOHfan It has in every game I've tried up to this point with the highest speed settings.

  • @Chubzdoomer Technically, it's not gonna move any faster. But you won't be sliding your mouse across the desk for the turret to get to where you want it. It just makes it easier.

  • @blacktalon12 Faster, easier, we can argue semantics all day. My point is that, say, you're in a tank in Battlefield 2. With low sensitivity, you're chugging along, scraping your mouse constantly getting the turret to move. As it gets higher, the turret moves greater distances faster because there are less short bursts of turret movement. Therefore you can turn the turret around quickly/easier with higher sensitivity than with lower sensitivity that requires many more small movements.

  • @Chubzdoomer Yeah, I got the basic idea. But pretty much all I'm saying is if you drag your mouse across the desk as fast as you can with low sensitivity, the turret won't move any further than if you drag it across the desk as fast as you can with high sensitivity, since the turret has a movement limit to prevent advantages. But if you move the mouse slowly with high sensitivity, it will definitely move the turret more. That's all I'm trying to say. I have bad company 2, so I understand it.

  • Hey i'm thinking about getting this mouse and i'm just wondering how has the mouse held up over time?

  • @MrMbason I'm still using it to this day and it feels as if I just got it. The only difference is that over time, your mouse wheel becomes easier to scroll, press inwards (middle mouse button), and move to the left and right (two additional "middle mouse" buttons).

  • @DasGutYahh Pathetic? I just destroyed your soul. Get back to watching your brother roll around with sweaty men and get the fuck off my channel. Blocked.

  • im getting it Tuesday for $39.99 at bestbuy :D

  • @DasGutYahh No way, man. I'm saving all my condoms for your mom!

(P.S. I've gotten a new mousepad since this video. Read the comments.)

  • Dude, get a new mousepad, seriously lol

  • Chub @ your dpi comment- you dont actually get why is it pulled up so high do you? hint: look at the software settings- mouse speed. just disable the OS one and play around. did you think that DPI was simply for the cursor speed?

  • Every time I've increased the DPI on my mouse to its maximum limit, it's way too fast for my liking. So yes, I assumed it was related directly to the speed of the cursor from firsthand experience.

P.S. Fuck this new, shitty YouTube commenting system.

  • From arstechnica: "DPI is a measure of sensitivity, or how little you have to move your mouse to move whatever virtual object you're controlling on the screen, such as your gun in a first-person shooter or your cursor in a real-time strategy game."

Funny. That seems to reflect exactly what I said.

  • Good mouse, but my MAJOR complaint is that the cable at the beginning of the USB connector is way to fragile and will snap easily! The worst part is that the warranty will not cover this either as a few other with this problem have pointed out.

I've only had my mouse for 7 months, and already I need to replace it: BUYERS BEWARE OF THIS COSTLY FLAW IN DESIGN!

  • I've had mine now for 8 months, over half a year, and have experienced zero problems with cable stability or the mouse itself.

  • That's good and I am happy for you Chubzdoomer. Like I said, it really is a great mouse, and with that said, I still want to try and repair this thing.

Do you have any recommendations on which USB cable that I can use to solder the wires together so that I can replace the existing Logitech G9 USB connector? Any ideas would be appreciated man. Thanks!

  • Nice stains on your desk and keyboard. ;)

  • Stains? What stains? ;-)

  • For its price of <60 dollars of course.

  • The G500? Yes. But as I already mentioned, it's cheaper because it doesn't have the same amount of features as the G9. More features, higher price. Make sense?

  • its 40 on best buy. i think i will get it

  • 1:30 "A lot of mouses?"

Aren't you an English native speaker? What the fuck? lol...

  • Copied and pasted from a previous response:

If you do some research on computer mice/mouses, you'll see that neither "mice" nor "mouse" is the be-all, end-all in terms of how to pronounce it. We're talking about computer hardware, not animals, so the terminology (at least from what I've read) is treated differently.

Please, do your research next time. Thanks.

  • @Chubzdoomer

I'm a biologist and I can tell you that animals are far too diverse, complex, and specialized for one of them to be picked as the "best of all". If any animal would be ideal theretically, it would be the Darwinian Demon which is very large, begins to reproduce at an infinite rate as soon as it is born, and lives forever without being restricted by any environmental factors such as food or predation (due to its size).

But that is just a theory. After all ecology relies on balance.

  • What exactly does this have to do with computer hardware?

  • @Chubzdoomer

and I'm sure there's a "better mouse of them all"

    Probably the G500 or G9x.

  • Except the G500 doesn't have the same amount of features, and the G9X just gives you a higher DPI setting that 99% of the population would not be able to handle anyhoot because even the G9's top DPI setting is nearly too fast to be used by most people. You barely touch the mouse and the cursor flies across the screen. It takes a long while to get used to it.

  • you should invest in a new mouse pad.

  • I've already done so, LOL.

  • I found this for $40 at best buy. Right now I have an older Razer Diamondback that I can sell for about $35 on eBay. Should I do it and end up spending around $5 for this mouse?

  • what a fancy piece of shit, i'm getting an X5

  • It's indeed fancy, but it ain't no piece of shit.

  • not really, with simplicity comes reliability.

  • Mine speaks "reliability" from the barrels of my smoking guns.

  • What would u suggest please reply or send me pm :)

    Logitech G9 or

    Roccat Kone

  • Never heard of or used the Roccat Kone. The G9 is a great mouse, though. Different mice suit different folks, so it's really up to your personal tastes.

  • K ty for fast reply..

I'll just go to the shop and ask if I can check em out

  • mine was $130 in canada at best buy omg ur so lucky

  • The Logitech G9X is fucking ridiculously insanely awesome.

  • its the same, just has a faster and better sensor

  • I would REALLY love to get this mouse since my Deathadder is made pretty much for palm grippers, but that middle wheel click force when I tried it in store was a no go. I use middle click very often out of games and that would become horribly annoying.

  • Yeah when you first get it, it feels as if you're struggling just to even click it inwards. After I've used mine for months, though, it's no longer stiff and feels natural. I haven't had any issues at all with the middle mouse wheel up to this point.

  • I'm still considering it, I guess I can always return it if I don't like it.

  • Have someone tested to play counter strike on this mouse? My friend sais the wheel is iron and if u scroll it down (russian jump) it wont russian jump, just keep ducking all thetime. So now im afraid if i should buy it or not

  • does the 2 dpi buttons interfere with you gaming, like do you ever hit it accidentally?

  • Nope, I've never hit it before. It's positioned so that your finger never touches it. It sort of goes right over it without any interference.

  • @Fatalcreations No, it ain't any problem {:

  • haha now i got it ty ty

  • Anyone know the stock DPI settings on this mouse? I forgot and cant find them.

  • Well ty but how i can see wich DPI/sensitivity the colors are? I found out that the blue one is more precise..

  • Yes and no. You costumise all of them.

For example: On the red: one stripe on 400 dpi, two stripes on 1000 dpi, three stripes on 1500 and so on. And on the blue: One stripe on 1000 dpi, two stripes on 1700, three stripes on 2500 and so on... and so on :P

  • Hey what does the colors do you can change??

  • They're the LED lights on the top of the mouse that show what your DPI/sensitivity is currently set at. You can select basically any color out there and, as seen here, the default color is red.

  • Can you use the buttons under the left click button for games? Like putting a he grenade in CS on one button and the knife on the other one, instead of changing profiles.

    Nice video btw!

  • That's a good question, actually. I'm not sure if you can reconfigure those or not!

  • Could you pleeeeeeeaaaase try?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Comment removed

  • 0:22 MOUSES?!?!?! anyway nice vid real effort shown.

  • If you do some research on computer mice/mouses, you'll see that neither "mice" nor "mouse" is the be-all, end-all in terms of how to pronounce it. We're talking about computer hardware, not animals, so the terminology (at least from what I've read) is treated differently.

  • lol look like you almost broke it taking the grip off :)

  • LOL, nah I never came close to breaking it. The mouse and grips are very stable. It probably just seems that way by the way I do it in the video.

  • yeah lol, I bought mine back when it was $89 -.- now I want either a XAI or a Kinzu

  • just got this today, took me forever to figure out how to get the wieght container out of the mouse...

  • NICE MOUSE!

  • cool mouse cool keyboard cos i have that board....but dude whats with the MAT :P

  • hahah lol its so ugly coverd in mould and probably has traces of cemen on it :P

  • I have a new mouse pad now. The one in this video had been used for 3+ years!

  • hahahahahaha

  • I can't figure out why they would put the MicroGear button on the bottom.

  • Good review

    i had a question

Would u recommend this or the g5?

becoz right now i got a pretty big mouse and the g9 looks very small to me

    is it still comfortable?

i thought the g5 might be more comfortable becoz of its size

but i like this mouse better

    so yeah, plz reply asap

    thanks

  • Hey,

The G9 is bigger than the G5 as far as I'm aware. The reason it looks small is possibly because my hands are somewhat large, but it's definitely not a tiny mouse.

The G9, I've heard, is better than the G5 overall. You can think of it as an improved version of the G5. It's a great mouse. My only complaint is the stiff middle mouse button; but it becomes easier to press as you use it more.

  • Thanks for the reply

But i meant, the g9 is a lot shorter than the g5

but for now, i got both off ebay, ill keep 1 and ill sell back the other 1 haha

    hope they arrive soon

    thanks again

  • haha i am in the same boat. i was able to get the g5 for 39.99 new lol so i jumped on it. even at high sensitivity it doesn't skip at all... something my g5 would do periodically

  • is this or the cyborg on better? also do the macros on the g15 keyboard and cyborhg the same

  • Update:

After doing some quick reviews, it looks like the G9 is larger with the first grip I show in this video (the wide grip), whereas the G5 is LONGER than the G9.

It's really all about personal preference. They're both about equal, but due to its extra features and swappable grips, I pick the G9. It's a more fully-loaded mouse, feature-wise, and is not bad at all to use.

  • I tried the G9 and thought it was too small (in length). It is a nice mouse though. The G5 is much larger and it is also a very nice mouse.

  • Thanks for replying enice482 but as you can see i left that comment 2 weeks ago

I already got my G5 and im happy with it.

    Thanks tho.

  • i put 3 7g and 1 4g its really nice

  • how's the middle mouse button? i've heard it's kind of hard to press.

  • You know, that's true. When you first get it, it's very stiff. By far the hardest-to-press middle mouse button I've ever used. You have to put a good amount of force into your finger to press it down.

But now that I've used it, it's second nature to me. Either that, or it's become worn in and is no longer as stiff to push. It's not a big flaw in the mouse or anything like that, but it's definitely something that takes time to get used to when compared to other mice.

  • ok thanks a lot for the info!

  • No prob!

  • Nice review buddy. Gettin´ the g9 tomorrow. also nice mousepad ;D @dunhill919. Yes u can

  • Hi,

I play Counter Strike Source in Steam and i need to save the mouse speed (from the mouse) and the mouse speed (from windows) and the name in game and ...

Can i save it in the mouse?

    plz replay me!

  • Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean.

  • Will... sorry for bad english (arabic) xD

I mean that there is a botton Under the mouse that when u prees it it's save the mouse speed and ...

    can i save it?

  • I hate my mousepad. Starting to wear down a lot. :-(

  • Really, $59.99 at best buy!?

I went to one a couple weeks back and the best one they had was a G5 for $65.

I was like WHOA! Its only $40 something off new egg.

  • Its on sale for $49.99 right now at best buy, im gonna pick one up.

  • It's been excellent so far. I've been absolutely raping people in TF2!

  • Obviously tonderus is the evil twin of SicariusLB!

  • I think they're secretly butt buddies!

  • actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually

  • Mmm. Beefy.

  • awesome

  • Nice. +5

  • whoa, nice piece of mouse you got there, how much is it??

looks like a star wars plane...lol, nice review, as soon as i got the info about this mouse, im gonna buy it

  • It's normally about $60-100. The regular price in most stores is $99.99, but it's being marked down by more and more of them. Mine was $59.99 at Best Buy, for example, and I was browsing the web and saw that Amazon has them for the same price now.

  • thx for the info man, time for hunting the mouse

  • Nice review. That mouse looks really cool!

  • Thanks for watching & commenting, schrader!

  • whats the price range on the mouse? where do you recomend purchasing it?

  • It's normally about $60-100. The regular price in most stores is $99.99, but it's being marked down by more and more of them. Mine was $59.99 at Best Buy, for example, and I was browsing the web and saw that Amazon has them for the same price now.

I think they're probably trying to phase them out to replace them with the G9X, which ONLY has 5000dpi instead of 3200, which is incredibly pointless because even 3200 is just far too fast for most folks, including myself. No other new features.

  • The G9 symbol looks like 69 O_O

  • LOL!

  • Thank you for the comment Tenda, and no problem in terms of sharing it. I'd looked around and noticed most of the G9 reviews here on YouTube weren't all that helpful or informative about the product, so I'm glad to hear that I've at least succeeded in those regards.

Also, don't worry about not having a graphics card - it's expensive stuff, and not always necessary because sometimes I find myself coming back to old games like Doom, even with the crazy visuals and experiences up for offer today.

  • it looks like a really good mouse to play doom but does it have a right click?
