The way characters officially change according to fandom opinion is quite a mess. For a game made by one person, this thing is damn complicated. And the fans (unbelievable numbers of them) somehow happily dedicate thousands of hours for it... I gotta read ZUN's past and idea sometime, his success is beyond belief.
