@papercanfly Did you know that if you get the Gravity Suit without the Varia Suit, the cutscene shows you getting the Varia Suit? That oes happen, but you get the Gravity Suit instead, complete with it's effects and look.

it is possible, if you go through Magmoor caverns VERY fast, you can get it.
