I know! But is it a good or a bad development? On one hand it's nice that it's now more widely available and easier to carry around (a disk instead of a mammoth synth) but on the other hand, do the original instruments risk to be replaced by copies? Will there soon be a generation who will only know the CS80 as a plug in?
I agree with ya, actually. a technical buddy of mine loves these things. He has Trident this and that...all that stuff is beyond me...just give me a guitar (or a bass, in my case) and I'm good
Yeah, they are getting better and better. Hardware still has its strengths (and charm!) but unless you're a collector, nowadays it's really not necessary to have a separate room full of pricey hardware synths to make nice tunes... (although imagine how awesome it would look! :))
@arsene737 Yea. I have an ESQ1 and a real good friend just loaned me his Juno 106 for a year to play with. I tried the demo version of the IMPOSCAR and it seems to have audio drop out issues. You'll be playing and the sound goes away and then comes back with the note still sounding. really weird. Also have the SQ8L VST of the SQ80/ESQ 1. Now that one is sweet. It's real close. Also have the Minimogue which is reallt nice. Can't wait till April when I am getting Albino 3. My first bought VST. L8R
@Booger6995 Well I never did get that Albino 3 yet. I dumped Ableton gelding for Cubase 5 Essentials. Much better DAW IMO. DL'd a copy of the TAU-62 JUNO 60 VST. Whoever wrote the thing must have had a JUNO 60. The filter modeling on this is immensely tight. You should try it sometime. L8R Still love this tune by the way.
@maccagrabme Hope someone in here can assist. In ref to VST's. Do they have to run with another program or will they operate stand alone. Say if I had the Jupiter 8V and want to play it with my MIDI controller. Is that all I need to make it work or do I have to open the VST with another program such as Fruity Loops or Acid Pro. If so can the VST's be used with say Ableton Live 8 Lite. Thanks for any responses.
@Booger6995 You can run most Vsti's as a standalone synth without host like Cubase or Ableton. Not all of them though, you need to check that but most of the big companies build that in. Vsti's can be used with Ableton yes and it has a number of instruments already built in like Cubase, sonar etc. To be honest if you pick up a copy of either you might find you don't need any additional instruments because the built in ones are incredible nowadays. Hope this helps.
@maccagrabme Cool. Thanks for the info. I would still want to be able to input the audio from my ESQ 1 though. The thing is such a versatile keyboard. Especially the MIDI implementation which is really top notch for a 1986 KB. I am kind of looking at the Albino 3. Not too expensive and has loads of presets as well as some fairly aggressive editing capabilities. Once again THANKS.
@Booger6995 Just checked the Linplug website and all of their products require VST host software. Luckily it appears that Ableton 8 Lite will even let you use VST's. So all I have to do is get the VST and literally plug it in. Hehe. Thanks for your input.
Oh my goodness....!!! You nailed it totally.... Its as good as the original...Awesome programming.... time for me to hit the subscription button....:)
i like & love this movie and his lives :DDDD and my...love it to :D

wow, that does sound a lot like the original, but enough that you can kinda tell it's not.
I find it funny that they now have emulators to sound like past emulators..and this is coming from a musician myself.

Very good cover, if you included the claps it would be pretty much spot on. Shows you what softsynths are capable fo nowadays.
