Rush is right, family guy lampoons everybody...that's why it's so funny and why you can tell he enjoyed doing it, even though he knew he was the brunt of the jokes. Family guy is hysterical.
Rush Limbaugh is a tool, he follows the media on fox to "agree" to make an appearance on Family Guy. Fox just gave him a prettier paycheck than normal so he gets his script like a good little tool.
I never gave a second thought to Republicanism until I saw this episode. It made me think, huh??.... maybe I should learn a little something about it before I start h8tin
If that's true then welcome to the worrld of the free thinkers. Even if you still choose to not be a Republican, at least you stopped and thought for yourself. And BTW, "Republican" is not the actual nomeclature you should be researching. "Conservatism" is what we follow. Read "Liberty and Tyranny" if you can.
No there isn't.Success is tied in to selling out.He had success and wanted more success so he sold out.Family guy now is rarely funny, and they're tryna get as many people on the show as they can to keep it going.Just like the Simpsons, just like king of the hill and soon to be south park, this show went from being bust a gut hilarious to 1 mediocre joke per episode.I'd much rather watch family guy re-runs than have them write anything new, they suck at it now.
If you aspire to succeed and grow, you're a sell out.
So to use your logic Family Guy would be the best show ever if only two people watched it by downloading episodes via an old school BB over a 28K modem.
guys yes, its ok for all people to get along but conservatives and liberals obviously disagree on fundamental issues, so we cant expect them to always agree and be polite to each other. :P
Rush gets such a bad rap from all the people who are mad at the world, and will always be mad at the world.
Hello people! The guy has been on the radio for decades, and for hours each day! Eventually, someone with enough determination will find a quote they can take out of context and make him look like a bigot/racist/demon or whatever they want to paint him as!
I really enjoyed watching this episode and I could see why Limbaugh did it. It's about being funny and being about to poke fun at yourself. Most liberals can't do that though McFarlane does make fun off everyone he has a soft side for those he supports.
@NJburbsSeeker I disagree, I am independent when it comes to politics but I have always leaned more to the left than to the right. Liberals get made fun of just as much as conservatives. It's just easier to bash a right winger in today's world because they are so close-minded in such an open-minded, progressing society.
@BigTimeStein1 No, most press outside Fox is left-leaning. Most press is like Jon Stewart. Not only do they act like right-wing is wrong, they act like its retarded. Biden is just as big of an idiot (arguably moreso) as Palin, but Palin gets mocked a million times more.
The mainstream news is mostly pro Democrat, thats why people make very uneducated decisions when it comes to electing political officials. Rush makes up for that, in a way.
Seth Mcfarlene and Rush don't worry you will never be out of the poiltical establisment working for News Corp and Disney Clear Channel. You people get how the NWO CIA corporate news works. Lets see if all you Michael Moore and Glenn Beck fugazis can finish the sentance here ya go 9/11 was an *********** Or Obama is a ******* puppet
"If you can't laugh at yourself there's no reason to be alive" That's a good quote, i can't believe i like a Rush Limbaugh quote. I Might just quote him on that just to freak out my buddies.
As much as I loathe and will continue to loathe Rush Limbaugh, I have to give him props for making fun of himself on a show written by people who are on the opposite side of the political fence. I have to admit he was pretty funny.
Ive always been a huge fan of family guy, and this didnt change one bit after I learned McFarlane thinks quite liberal. You see, I was once young and stup... uh ... liberal, too.
People still don't understand, Its all a Game of "troll" for rush, saying anything that gets people pissed off for fame and exposer is the name of the game. Just put him in the same boat as Beck and you will understand IMO.
I gotta admit, for as much as Family Guy has referenced Fox News and Republicans as Nazis or total morons, I'm surprised Limbaugh agreed to do an episode..but I guess it's ok to laugh at yourself sometime! XD
Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, etc etc. Those guys are actors, they put on their stage persona and they deliver a message. Rush isn't uptight and ignorant, he just plays that role on his show. And here we see him mocking his role in another role on family guy. What a country eh?
This show is going to be watched by children. So I really do not know if this good exposing them to the wars of ideology so soon in their lives? Let the children be children and then when adults they can better understand these issues. Thankyou. James Sasse.
I don't like rush but i do like that he's willing to poke fun at himself and can take a joke unlike certain people....Sarah Palin I'm looking in your direction
These are rich guys who will do anything to benefit themselves. They aren't that different. Family Guy does jokes about people like Pat Tillman, and that's as evil and hateful as anything the conservative talk show hosts have said.
@dsalvat1 This is what the British parliament sucks at; always slagging each other up, and advertising how the other political leader is a liar and a cheat and ugly etc., just a lot of irrelevant crap, and hate produces hate.
Anyone who is willing to laugh at themselves, regardless of political viewpoint, is alright in my book. Me and my fellow fascist, homophobic, racist conservatives can get along with you butt-hurt, pot-smoking, communist liberals. :D THIS IS A GREAT COUNTRY
I am a rock hard conservative, I love family guy, satire is one of the richest forms of comedy. Unfortunately the main demographic family guy appeals to isnt intelligent or intellectual to understand what satire is, and they get the complete wrong idea. None of these shows hate democrats or republicans, and they are not antisemitic(cuz the writers are Jewish) People cant seem to realize that all of the ways shows like this portray mainstream figures are just for laughs, and should be understood
Liberals aren't that bad if papa Rush hangs with em...Wait I just realized something, you can actually disagree with someone without them being your mortal enemy...wowo I just blew my own mind.
I would agree that he SEEMS like a good guy in this clip...but you have obviously not watched or listened to him speak about his views recently. The man is an amoral, plutocrat who advocates whatever will preserve his wealth.
@tr0ll00l agreed... he in no way has even been racist... absolutely not. Some people would claim that he is on a daily basis and that its broadcasted in the public domain... not no.. not true
@tr0ll00l You are talking about the guy that laughs at disabilities and is a racist... This man is disgusting regardless of how he appears in this one video...
The episode exposes that fact that he knowingly generates hate in the USA by catering to the ignorant audience he has.
Family Guy is becoming too mainstream for liberals. You know any cartoon that is NOT promoting communism and total government control is too "right-wing" for them.
@langokicks Yup and they're also total racists, communists, nazis, and KKK maggots as well as being total nutjob UFO cultists. And the richer they are the more they persecute the poor.
@langokicks Get you facts straight buddy. Some of us liberals worship Cthulhu and the spaghetti monster, and various other pagan Gods and Goddesses. Not to mention our spelling is way better.
This only makes me hate him more, he spews his incoherent bullshit across the airwaves on a daily basis and then laughs all the way to the bank profiting off of peoples' stupidity.
This show does poke fun at everybody but is more left wing than anything. Best show that makes fun of everyone and everything is South Park in my opinion.
Not saying Family Guy isnt funny i watch all the time just saying South Park is a better example of a show that doesnt really takes sides at all
@DoctorSargeMD Very true. Family Guy seems to attack the right wing a lot in the show and leave alone the left wing. Of course, you get the Clinton jokes but thats about it. What makes South Park great is that they're writers are pretty much in the middle. Trey Parker is Libertarian and Matt Stone "hates Conservatives but fucking hates Liberals." So their jokes attack both sides rather than just one. Just one reason I find South Park to be a more appealing show though i fuckin love Family Guy.
Chill out people. It's a cartoon. SOME of you liberals need to slow down and breathe easy. Being miserable isn't how you should live your lives. I can understand your frustrations considering November 2nd is just around the corner.
I hate Rush Limbaugh but I must say I was laughing so hard through out this episode, and to be honest this is one of my favorite episodes in recent memory.
Note: at 0:24, if you look carefully, you'll notice Brian's reading Rush's FIRST book, "The Way Things Ought To Be"! In other clips, he's reading the book he got from Rush, which has a flag on the cover.
It was a very funny episode. Limbaugh and McFarlane are BUISNESS MEN! They have great products and together they did a great job. It was funny. They poked fun at both sides.
This episode does not change my opinion of that man. If you're going to decide your political views and who you support from a cartoon, you're an idiot.
Rush Limbaugh is the man. I enjoyed this episode even though it mocked conservatives a little bit. The important thing is near the beginning when Brian admitted he didn't know anything about Rush other than what others have written about him, which is basically the case for anyone that doesn't like Rush. Maybe this will convince some of the more moderate liberals to learn more about Rush and they will realize he is not what they have been told.
I was born into a Republican family and have always been a Repulican myself. I WAS also a big fan of Rush.... not anymore. I understand that this Family Guy episode was intended to mock the stereotypes placed upon the Republican party. I found it to be just plain offensive.
I always here the fabricated talking point that Rush is so mean. The next thing I hear is that the accuser has never listened to Rush. Hmm? Fact is he's been so successful (much bigger audiences than his media critics - and he's on AM radio!) because he is just the opposite.
A lot of radio personalities do get nasty and bitter but Rush continues to be the Gentleman of Radio and people like that.
when i first saw he was gonna be on the show i was like wtf lol but its a good episode im glad they can make fun of politics and not be all serious like most people are
I'm no Limbaugh fan but maybe this will teach his fallowers that he isn't always serious so they can tone down the hate well atleast just a tad. Too much hate does nothing but sends the human race backwards into oblivion. Hope it comes out that Rush isn't serious about everything he says. Or atleast he can tone his fans down. I don't agree with Rush but I know he does not have that much hate deep down.
i was sceptical at first, but the episode was actually pretty funny. i'm no fan of limbaugh's politics, but its good that some Republicans can take a joke - he himself was good on the show.
I'm really glad Rush did this. I don't care what your views are. If you can't be calm and respect that Rush and Seth worked together, then you truly have psychological issues.
Why do some of you have to be so unrelenting when it comes to politics? Seth and Rush both understand that if you can't laugh at yourself sometimes, you're not living life to its fullest.
And Echdrum, don't freak out about this. This is for the sake of comedy.
i had a job when bush was in office. why is all of obama 's staff resigning ? . i like how brian says he only believes things that he reads and what other people have written. if you have left negative comments about rush think to yourself how you got those thoughts. have you tuned into his show? it's the most listened to show in the world. not saying he's right in everything he says however small gov. is needed fast. cut the pork!!
This was a cool episode. I think there needs to be more of this stuff..Im sick of this, "either your on OUR team or fuck you" bullshit going on in the US today. Im glad someone like Rush can go on this show and have some fun with it. Everyone is always going to get thier jabs at the other side, but I think people take politics WAY to seriously and like Rush said..."If you can't laugh at yourself, theres NO reason to be alive" Too true..People on both sides just need to fucking chill out...
You know what its great to see that Mcfarlane wasnt a total liberal pundit that I thought he was. He actually has an open mind. Just like Southpark. And other tv shows. Ill have to give this show a second chance. And its also good to see Rush laugh at himself. This is good to see right now with the two sides tearing eachother apart. Liberals and Conservatives I mean. Its good to see a far left guy like Mcfarlane and Limbaugh working together with comedy if anything lol
I don't see what's so hard to reconcile here. Rush, talk radio, and cable "news" programming are all satirists interested only in making money who don't truly give a rats about policy. Beck himself admitted this to Forbes Magazine 4/26/10. Olbermann too has beat around the bush about this with regards to MSNBC flip to liberal.
Rush will get more viewers and make more money from being on the show, and MacFarland will get more viewers who probably never watched Family Guy as Rush alluded to.
that is hilarious, that rush would go on what is normally, such a left wing show, but I am glad he could poke fun at himself, unlike rick sanchez, who went nuts when a comedian tried to make fun of him.
i have to say, i have way more respect for seth after this episode. not only did he manage to show someone he was against in a positive light, but he actually gave the other side a chance to voice their opinions on his show. i disagree with him politically, but anyone who does that definitely has my respect!!!
I was laughing so hard on the "dunk jimmy carter"

DoctorSargeMD 1 year ago 4
@DoctorSargeMD Very true. Family Guy seems to attack the right wing a lot in the show and leave alone the left wing. Of course, you get the Clinton jokes but thats about it. What makes South Park great is that they're writers are pretty much in the middle. Trey Parker is Libertarian and Matt Stone "hates Conservatives but fucking hates Liberals." So their jokes attack both sides rather than just one. Just one reason I find South Park to be a more appealing show though i fuckin love Family Guy.

@rjkahlon
I think Family Guy in general has more clever jokes and humor but South Park has more childish stuff......just silly.

MFFL2008 1 year ago 7
@MFFL2008 I don't really approve of him either, but at least he has the ability to laugh at himself. this was a hysterical episode.

Note: at 0:24, if you look carefully, you'll notice Brian's reading Rush's FIRST book, "The Way Things Ought To Be"! In other clips, he's reading the book he got from Rush, which has a flag on the cover.

My second question was, "Why did Rush Limbaugh do Family Guy?"

Zmann1218 1 year ago
Rush Limbaugh is the man. I enjoyed this episode even though it mocked conservatives a little bit. The important thing is near the beginning when Brian admitted he didn't know anything about Rush other than what others have written about him, which is basically the case for anyone that doesn't like Rush. Maybe this will convince some of the more moderate liberals to learn more about Rush and they will realize he is not what they have been told.

This was one of the funniest Family Guy episodes.

Seth McFarlane makes fun of everyone, not just god and Jesus. -.-
That's exactly what we love about this comedian.
ricebunny53 1 year ago
xD It's great seeing these bleeding heart liberals bashing on Rush like they actually have -points- to make. Maybe even some socialists in here, too.

IF Rush Limbaugh and Seth MacFarlane can come together and make an episode why are people upset with this? Politics aside this looks funny. lol
classicrocker2142 1 year ago 4
at 0:54...is that supposed to be Seth McFarland getting a book autographed?

I was born into a Republican family and have always been a Repulican myself. I WAS also a big fan of Rush.... not anymore. I understand that this Family Guy episode was intended to mock the stereotypes placed upon the Republican party. I found it to be just plain offensive.

It's pretty cool that a liberal like Seth McFarland and Rush Limbaugh can have a good rapport. Alot of people can learn a lesson from that
azzh00le 1 year ago 5

Everyone is always going to get thier jabs at the other side, but I think people take politics WAY to seriously and like Rush said..."If you can't laugh at yourself, theres NO reason to be alive" Too true..People on both sides just need to fucking chill out...
ryano2099 1 year ago
Brian's line at the start of the show is exactly the same insult i've heard from every liberal that says something about Rush
MolotovDaSkwerl 1 year ago
You know what its great to see that Mcfarlane wasnt a total liberal pundit that I thought he was. He actually has an open mind. Just like Southpark. And other tv shows. Ill have to give this show a second chance. And its also good to see Rush laugh at himself. This is good to see right now with the two sides tearing eachother apart. Liberals and Conservatives I mean. Its good to see a far left guy like Mcfarlane and Limbaugh working together with comedy if anything lol
EricLynchSucks 1 year ago
I don't see what's so hard to reconcile here. Rush, talk radio, and cable "news" programming are all satirists interested only in making money who don't truly give a rats about policy. Beck himself admitted this to Forbes Magazine 4/26/10. Olbermann too has beat around the bush about this with regards to MSNBC flip to liberal.
Rush will get more viewers and make more money from being on the show, and MacFarland will get more viewers who probably never watched Family Guy as Rush alluded to.
sharktrinity 1 year ago
that is hilarious, that rush would go on what is normally, such a left wing show, but I am glad he could poke fun at himself, unlike rick sanchez, who went nuts when a comedian tried to make fun of him.

aww this whole thing seems heart warming for some reason too watch seth and rush interact liek that i don't know why
RobotMice 1 year ago
i have to say, i have way more respect for seth after this episode. not only did he manage to show someone he was against in a positive light, but he actually gave the other side a chance to voice their opinions on his show. i disagree with him politically, but anyone who does that definitely has my respect!!!
