Ha ha ha!! We started out losing the War of 1812 & ended up winning. The last battles in canada were won by the USA, the Brit attempt to invade NY was haevily defeated, the Brits lost the war at sea on the Great Lakes & got thouroughly beaten at New Orleans. The burning of the DC back then did little since there wasn't much there then. The French have also had more victories at sea & on land against the Brits throughout history.

The battle of Trafalgar allowed us to blockade the French ports which then allowed us to expand all over the world. The French may of won silly little battles that had no bearing on the eventual outcome although the British Empire pwned the rest and that is fact :) I suggest you look at this :0

The Viet War was fought because of the Cold War situation & the Korean War & the fact that Stalin did not allow free elections in eastern Euroep, so the ball unfortuantely continued to roll. Prior to that by the Chinese in China & the USSR during the Nomohan/Khalkin-Gol campaign. Then immediately after Pearl Harbor the USA gave the Japanese navy a good bloody nose at Wake island, then the Aussies in New Guinea & soon after the USA in the same place, plus the Aussies & USA duirng the Solomon Islands Campaign (Guadacanal, etc.).
