  • It must also be noted (though I just learnt this) that the V/O of this bumper set, Bill Martin, died June 19, 2011 at age 90. He had been a CBS staff announcer for 30 years, and also did volunteer announcing work for the Xavier Society for the Blind for another nearly 30-year run (in part concurrent with his CBS duties).

  • I remember these!

  • Great Times...TV seemed so magical back then because everything was so fresh to me. It's all been done now.

  • these two shows pre-empted by the star wars holiday special.

  • Why does this seem creepy?

  • @lstradamus Because it shows a really angry,freaky,large,creepy green guy perhaps. :P

  • I've since found out from a former CBS audio engineer on the radio side who this voiceover was: Bill Martin.

  • The only question is, who was the CBS New York staff announcer on duty that fateful night? There are only two names where I still can't place the voices: Bill Martin and John Schaeffer (or Shafer). I can still hear the voices of Bill Gilliand, Lee Jordan, Pat Connell, Don Robertson, Wally King, Bob Hite, Dave Campbell, Gaylord Avery, Hal Simms, Norm Stevens, Allan Berns, Stuart Metz, Harry Kramer, George Bryan, Art Hannes, and Roger Forster in my head . . . and none of them are heard here.

  • If you ever see "The Star Wars Holiday Special", you'll wish "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN" and "THE INCREDIBLE HULK" HADN'T been pre-empted that evening!

    ;)
