  • The 2 hour Rockford files episde, was that the 2hour 'The House On Willis Ave.?

  • @Darren50001 yes, a great episode

  • awesome original footage

  • RIP Stephen J Cannell. The Rockford Files was his best show ever!

  • what's a Quark?

  • you guys blow thoes turkeys down...

  • Excellent. Where'd you find this gem! And I had to laugh at Quark.

  • Quark was the most GOD-AWFUL show NBC ever aired!!!

  • Still my favorite Rockford episode ever

  • @caldm Mine is the Queen of Peru!! With the RV guy (who was) who steals Rockfords BBQ with a diamond hidden in it and Jimbo has to chase him down. LOL.

  • "right after the premier of Quark..." So that would put this in February of 1978 which is when Quark debuted.

  • man you never hear them give the time zones anymore.

friday at 9...8 central and mountain

  • More NBC promos of The Rockford Files please! Especially NBC promos of Rockford from the Fall of 1978, the Spring of 1979, the Summer of 1979, the Fall of 1979, and early 1980.

  • turkeys, haa,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • "At the tone leave a message; " Early digi-dial & answer/phone, beachtrailer/cell-on-wheels, Pontiac Trans-Am Firebird, Rockford handbrake-turn, pappy Rockford lookin like Popeye, Jim's real limp, brainy babes, friendly crud cop...way to go dude.

  • This was Jackie Cooper's second appearance on Rockford. His first was as Cpt Highland in an episode that also starred Linda Evans. Overall he directed 5 episodes of the show. BTW never heard of the show Quark....anyone ever see a clip??

  • If you look closely, you can see a very short clip of Jackie Cooper. He directed many episodes of the show.

  • @Mattleycrue66 He also guest-starred on a solid Columbo episode.

  • Yes, let us blow those turkeys down.

  • Yes, after we get close to them. Not before. Got it?

  • nooo vote ROCKFORD baby !!!

  • HAHA! You got your a** kicked Nov 4Rightwingnut! Teach you to keep your politics off youtube!

  • By this time in the series they were trying to create spin off characters, like Richie and later those "coupla guys".

The show was taking a big physical toll on Jim,but Jim was the show.

James Garners one hell of an actor, they don't make shows like this anymore

  • But you have to admit the Richie Brockleman episode was one of the best ever..Definately my fave

  • Richie Brockleman had an awful spin off show. It was to The Rockford Files what Mrs Columbo was to Columbo. Absolutely dire!

  • Quark! What a surprise to see that with this clip.

  • Allright, in order, doing the voice over is Don LaFontaine, who could make a Turd Sandwich sound exciting, "Quark" was a Buck Henry project with the afore mentioned Richard Benjamin which sucked so Bad they never worked again..and the Ritcie Brockleman character dam'n near sank the 'Rockford' franchise..if they're not immediate famaily whiny Jew's are not that attractive..Sorry..

  • I don't think that was Don LaFontaine. If it was, GOD! recording equipment was shit then.

  • What the hell is a "Quak?" Rockford ruled! I like angle too, he was funny.

    Quak, quiet, q-oil. Whatever

  • Uhhhh, what was a quark?

  • In the context of the discussion, Quark was the name of the main character of the show, played by Mr. Benjamin.

  • Mel also did a year on SNL (season 7) when Pardo was let go.

  • Quark? and who was the voice talent? He was big. Heard him before.

  • The voice sounded like Mel "Living Color" Brandt. As for "Quark," it was a short-lived sci-fi/comedy show starring Richard Benjamin, that had an even shorter run than "He & She."

  • "Quark" sucked ass! I am ashamed that I even remember that show.

  • Richie Brockleman.......hmmph!

  • "Right after the premiere of Quark!"

  • The promo is for February 24, 1978.

The Rockford Files: "The House on Willis Avenue" (which served as the pilot for "Richie Brockelman, Private Eye")

  • The over-the-top earnestness of the advert announcer was so classicaly 1970s; it really is misleading where Rockford Files was concerned: Rockford was a masterpiece of absurdist humor and casual, leisurely presentation!

  • Perhaps the folks at NBC didn't get the joke?

  • Yes thats true but you have to realize that in the 70s everything was advertised in the same earnest manner. They would string a bunch of diparate shows and movies together without any relation.

  • not bad for almost 29 years ago
