@kyleaz2000 LT1 reverse-flow cooling puts the coolant through the heads first. Combine that with some aluminum heads that can dissipate heat well, and you can bump the compression pretty easily. The cars came stock running right about 10.5:1 with iron heads, and just need 87 octane.

@warewolfsnimpalas My advice is forget the Edelbrock crap, go on ImpalaSSforum, do your research and get proven HP gaining parts. It may cost you a bit more, but the one thing I learned in the five years I had the Impala was do it right the first time, so it doesn't cost you twice as much when you have to do it a second or third time.

yo lionelnut69.... Go out and get mufflers made by Spintech... they do the job and are very, very loud... You won't get the sound that the car in this video gets because the car in this video has a Cam in it. Its probably and LT4 hot cam or some kind of cam. But yea the spintech is a good muffler. Get BBK headers and nice high flow cats with those mufflers and you will be good. Don't be like everyone else and over pay for Flowmaster 40 series. Waist of money

Maybe you missed what I replied to him, but the motor was a 383 Stroker, with Lloyd Elliot Level 3 Aluminum Heads and a custom grind Lloyd Elliot Level 3 cam. Spintechs are good mufflers if you want your car to SOUND fast. Before I sold the car I was gonna get rid of the Spintechs because I was pushing well over 450 hp. BBK headers are trash, and high flow cats are a waste of money, when you can just get straight pipes. Best advice you gave him was to avoid those trash Flowmasters.

@BigDually58 You don't need anything to install it... it's an LT1 stroked from a 350 to 383, so you pull the stock motor out and drop the stroker in. You should get headers, and a new exhaust cuz all that stock stuff is gonna restrict your performance. As far as cost, depending on what kind of build you want (Naturally Aspirated, Nitrous set up, or power adder), it can range from anywhere to 5 grand to as high as 10 grand. All depends on what you want. Horspower wise, it was between 425 and 450

LOL. That's more than just exhaust. That's a 383 Stroker motor, with Quad 1 Headers, Open Cutouts, no cats, and Spintect Mufflers. So yea your cherry bombs ain't gonna sound like that, unless you do everything else too.
