  • @1stCeeN it's called EM20#070720 or something

    its from evangelion sound track

  • yes because everyone watches 3 movies at the same time while opening 50 different programs.. i still don't get this.. impressive technology though

  • @Lebroooo uh the blu ray movies are being read off the ssd while testing latency performance

and the music...bleh who knows, just added that for no reason

  • @Lebroooo the point of this video is to show its limits and what its capable of not how he uses it :/

  • How do i change Sata to ACHI in windows 7? In BIOS?

  • @TheAslanDA yes in the bios but you would have to re-install windows or use a registry edit in order for AHCI to be enabled correctly.

search youtube for windows 7 AHCI registry or something after you've done that, boot in your BIOS and set the Sata interface to AHCI

  • @VincentX202 I don't have Sata configuration in BIOS, but i used Registry to enable it, but i'm not sure if it's 100 enabled now, i didn't find those options in BIOS, i have HP Pavilion DV7-3197eo

  • @TheAslanDA search the bios carefully

BIOS main menu screen --> Integrated Peripherals --> Onboard SATA Function

There are two possible settings: Compatible or Enhanced.

    Compatible = IDE emulation mode

    Enhanced = AHCI mode

it should be there somewhere if you're on a new intel chipset

  • You using on ?

  • 1:46 what kind of program or app yo n

  • @ 1:54 lol

    Guys,run away ! we can't win ! ( i know vegeta that is one hell of a SSD )

  • The speed...

    It's beautiful...

You have showed me again why I want a SSD...

  • Evangelion further win!

  • what kind of dragonball is that?

    thought I've watched every episode^^

    nice vid btw ;)

  • @probaner92 DBZ *Movie*

  • Quick.

  • Freaking awsome man!

    Suck on that Apple!

  • how to view the opened file like u did from 1.42

  • Ich hab meinen datein gesicher auf dvd und wollte sie dan in ssd instalieren aber es kommt immer das gleiche:

(reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media i n selected boot device and press a kay)

wie hast du den windows 7 in ssd instaliert??

  • Sorry but what are your computer specs, particularly the processor? I didn't even know there were 8 core processors out...

  • @nanquan491 there are 8 core processors out but for server use only ;)

i guess this is an i7 with 4 cores and multithreading (4*2=8)

  • Just ordered the Vertex 3... can't wait!! :D

  • What song is playing? It sounds familiar....

  • SSD for 3 Movies ? This Make My IDE Disk To Mutch :)

  • (German): Mit welchen Programm hasst das Desktop aufgenommen??

Freu mich sehr auf ein antwort. :D

  • can someone tell me what are the SandForce controllers or if they matter at all?

  • But its pretty hard to put windows 7 and other programs all on that tiny 60gb.

I hope ssd's will be cheaper in the future :)

  • @TheNewbpowner123 kinda, though it's not a problem really i've got 24gb left on it with w7, x64 and all my programs on it

my games are on a raid seperate from the OS so it doesn't fragment with time, pretty much ssds you get rid of stuff like defrag, indexing, pagefile because the drive does not need it

  • I bought one for my cheap Dell 1545... It's now the "apparently" fastest dell 1545 on Passmark... It's flawless. If you have a dell or any laptop. Kick your HDD in the butt and get an SSD. Standard Benchmark Disk results 410.5 for dell 1545 and a OCZ vertex 2 dell 1545 benchmark results1845.1

  • just bought a vertex2 120gb

cant wait for it to arrieve

  • my hdd can do that ... not lol

  • did you tweak your ssd in anyway?

  • @aznpspgamer yeah set sata interface to AHCI from BIOS, updated firmware on it and updated chipset drivers

disable, indexing and auto defrag on the drive

if ur going to update the firmware make sure to read up OCZ forum for guides, because their latest firmware needs to be applied strictly as a secondary drive, in other words not from within the drive and running your OS, i think this only applies for their latest.

do a few writes then delete, re-boot and let it idle for a few minutes.

  • @VincentX202 You can make it ever snappier by turning off window open/close animations.

  • @VincentX202 I have a question about updating the firmware. I thought I read in the OCZ forum that the Vertex 2 and Agility's must be in SATA IDE mode, not AHCI, to update the firmware, which if true, sucks for me because my poor Dell does not have and IDE mode - only AHCI and RAID. Is this true?

  • @AllUrUtubeRbelong2me well no actually the newer firmware i think has to be updated as a secondary drive, in other words not from within windows

  • @VincentX202 Ok. Thank you. I see what you are talking about now. I may have been reading a thread about the Vertex 1 or something.

  • just bought this did basically the same thing. im in love with this fucking drive its on newegg right now for 114$ but rebate takes it to 99$ totally worth it.

  • @TolonNetwork lulz thx for your honesty

  • how much hardrive space is on the ssd in this vid?

  • @aznpspgamer 60gb

  • OMG insane program launch

  • What video player did you use there?

  • @kenshin304 media player classic with ffdshow and directshow decoders

  • That's it got to buy myself two and put them in raid 0

  • HOLY COW!!

  • where can I get that background?

  • I cant wait for my 120G OZC SSD to arrive.

But , what software are you using to record the desktop.

Also whil im here, what is the primary use of your SSD?

Do you have any standard SATA's HDD attached too?

  • @StephenSuttieHouse i used fraps, i think

my primary use for the drive is all my applications and OS,

for my storage files and games i use several western digital drives

  • PLEASE NAME OF THE SONG!?

  • @26psyside Decisive Battle - Neon Genesis Evangelion OST

  • @VincentX202

    Thanks alot!

BTW im getting Vertex 2 in few weeks ! amazing video bro!

  • Sweet!

  • what software you use to record the desktop ??

  • Name of the song?!??

  • Comment removed

  • what song is this cuz its pretty epic lol

  • At first i was like why are you using mpc hc and videos for hardrive speed.. then oh shit thats fast. Im going to be getting the 60gb ocz vertex 2 E series soon cant wait to have fast boots on windows and even faster boots in backtrack

  • @trignite yeah, i figured, 3 hd videos being read off and then launching some programs would contribute to the the overall read performance

boot up time is 11 seconds including post and everything on this drive

  • nice video,

could you send me your wallpaper?

  • @XZockerSis I don't have this particular wallpaper anymore, but you can find it, and many other on...interfacelift com

  • @VincentX202 oh thanks :)

  • you should turn off Window Animations when your minimizing, and maximizing, it makes it look slow, and it's hard to see what the real time is for the window to maximize, it could take 0.1 Second to load the windows, but since you have Window animations turned on it takes like 2 seconds for that, so you cant even really tell how fast it's actually opening.

  • 40 firefox tabs? dumbest test, it is testing RAM, not HDD read

  • @ldandco regardless, it is an application launch performance test

ram is tested differently, frame serving video, editing

  • @ldandco normally on a HDD this would obviously take longer even if it weren't a multi application launch

the ram being used is beyond the point

  • @VincentX202 it's still impressive, but opening several firefox windows still won't make any sense (in this demonstration). after the first firefox instance is loaded (into *RAM*), guess where the 2nd instance will be loaded from...

  • @gradinkov Well... see the point here wasn't to test RAM but overall program launching, the extra firefox instances loaded onto the memory like you state is only an added bonus to the whole performance testing...

and you might ask, why not just benchmark them? and see the real SSD vs HDD reads/write. Well because i think most ppl already know them, in my honest opinion, people just want to know how much faster their computer environment will be.

  • @ldandco even so if the programs are on a ssd or a hdd you will see difference

  • I have a Vertex 2 60 GB, ACHI and TRIM enabled on my PC, and while I got similar scores with you (CPU 7.6 Mem 7.8 VGA 7.9) I get "only" 7.3 score on Transfer rate. Any more tricks/ tweaks done in your system? Thanks and nice video and PC you got there

  • @ariskar yeah, make sure AHCI is properly enabled, also do not connect optical drives or burners on the same sata controller or else you wont see its entire performance

thats why ppl prefer usb/esata dc/dvd drives now

another thing to note is, update the firmware on it via OCZ site, let the drive run for a while after a few deletes, if you need more info about this SSD let me know

whats your mainboard controller btw, intel?

  • @VincentX202 Firstly thanks for the fast reply. I got intel ICH10r, i7 920@3.2, 6GB 1600MhzCL6 ram. my controller is intel ICH10r (x58 chipset) and my mainboard is Asus Rampage Gene. BIOS has 2 options "IDE" and "IDE+AHCI" while I have it on second option. The ssd came with the 1.11 firmware, same as the latest in OCZ website, so didn't bother updating.. It may be the other 2 SATA HDD I have connected interfering... If I am missing something please tell me. Thanks again!

  • @ariskar no the other sata drives should be fine, however if you installed windows, so your optical drive is on a seperate controller then?

still i'm going to send you a link through a PM so you can get a little info on how this particular ssd works

  • @VincentX202 So are you saying to not "daisy chain" any devices on the cable with the SSD? Or that you should actually purchase a SATA PCIe card and install it to run your other SATA Optical drives?

So if I plug my SSD into the "#1" SATA plug on my motherboard and plug my DVD Drive into the "#2" SATA plug on the same motherboard, it will affect the performance?

    Just seeking some clarification. :)

    Thanks for the great video!

  • @VincentX202 how do you enable AHCI?

  • @1981z28camaro i sent you a link to a video, though it's an EVGA m/b the process should be similar.

also you would have to do this while re-installing windows 7, if you don't want to re-install, then you need to do a registry fix

  • *Drools* I wonder if my LE will go as fast!

  • Whats the song?

  • @SebastianElf It's Decisive Battle - Neon Genesis Evangelion OST

  • @VincentX202 I just mean how the window isn't instantly open, I know it's not slow, it's an animation, I just think it makes it look slow, that's why I never use it, lol

you CAN disable JUST the animation of the windows minimizing, and maximizing, in the Control Panel.

  • HAWT

i have one of the older OCZ SSD's its still hella fast :)

  • @pacorocks1 cool, which one do you have, Vertex, Agility or Summit

hopefully i will do a bootup video when i get a camera, this drive is fast, 10 seconds flat from power up thanks to some nice features in my bios

  • @VincentX202 OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2, ah lucky, i need a new mobo soon ;)
