  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! -Real music from Real Men...

  • What a beautiful song! Can listen to it night and day, love those Temps!

  • Sounds like old motown!(GREAT)

  • Its good to see Otis keeping up with the times. He was always the rock that held everything together.

  • true steppin music

  • Agreed!

  • Indeed......STEP ON CHICAGO!!!!!!!

  • Man this song was sooooooo hot!!!! Temptations still got it!

  • This is a real steppin' cut. Step on chicago.....

  • Yess!! We get it in off this one. Sweet Georgia Brown!

  • ...wish I would have stayed with my first love...

  • I love how they sample their own song (My Girl).

  • rite!!

  • this album is amazing

  • i finnaly found this song i love it still :)

  • favorite

  • man ever since i saw ther movie..... man dy can sing!!!... best singing group ever...

  • This song just takes my breath away. Such a great love song! Done extremely well by such a great group.

  • Every time me and my woman make sweet, sweet love, we prefer the temptations.

  • simply marvelous

  • who is the lead on this??

  • bo harrington

    then ron tyson

    then terry weeks

  • Theo Peoples is the lead on the recording. He had left the group by the time they shot the video. Bo Henderson is lyp synching to Theo's vocals. Bo and Terry are doing the second and third leads. The spoken word is sweet Otis.

  • When Bo departed Otis should have thought about Clyde Brown, formerly of The James Cleveland Singers and later part of a group derivative of The Drifters. Brown was discovered by Cleveland singing in a church in Lincoln Heights, Ohio. He made a brief appearance on the secular scene with now defunct Canyon Records (Mickey Stevenson) then Atlantic before falling off the radar altogether. A fine singer, he would have been a good fit.

  • You seem to be very knowlegable about this song. Would you happen to know who wrote it?

  • No ... wish I did.

  • Narada Michael Walden wrote the song.

  • yes Narada Michael Walden wrote, and co-produced this. He also worked on their next album, the Grammy winning Ear-Resistable.

  • Its actually Ron and Terry doing second and third lead vocals. and Harry has a bit of speaking as well.

  • Another great song that became a instant classic.

  • A timeless song to go down in history like, 'My Girl', 'Just My Imagination', 'Treat Her Like A Lady', 'The Way You Do The Things You Do', and so many more. This smooth melody can change a mood for the better in 0.8 seconds. Categorized as one of the all-time greats in the history of R & B singers.

  • its interesting how the temptations went from sumtin like the "way you do the things you do" to this,

this is a good song in all but i can never listen to the whole. I end up thinking of the older stuff. i still think they shouldn't have use the "my girl" intro

    classic temptations FTW!

  • and the rest of the song is the "just my imagination" music

  • Oh my god this is music that just stops your heart right here,it just makes you smile.Music form switch, the temptations,Michael Jackson,The Jacksons, and mostly and the music in the 70's and 80's.Good music, thanx for postin.

  • This is something any Temptation Fan

should be proud of . The contemperary feeling is lovely. A salute to a group that has seen us from middle school to grandchildren.

  • song is banging

  • LOVE THiS S0Nq

  • so romantic.

  • OH My GOD! I have never heard this song before and I'm oldchool. Where on Earth have I been? I love this song.

  • Go see them live...they ROCK this song....plus some even newer ones and of course the old classics.

  • I WILL LOVE TO STAY... THIS IS MY JAM

  • Comment removed

  • yyyyeeeeeeeeuuuuuuhhhh!

  • Love this!!!!

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG, AND THIS GROUP-FOREVER! Do yall hear the "my girl" trak playing in the backgroung? How clever was that?

  • sexy it is for you...Rico

  • yes it is! I play this when I get ready to go to the club

  • Is that Theo Peoples singing this song?

  • Theo Peoples sings this song...but left before the tour for the album...so the video has his replacement, Barrington Henderson, lip syncing to Theo's vocals. A confusing situation, but what else could they have done?

  • This song is one of my all time favorites.. it's so sexy smooth... it's a song that I would want my man to sing to me.. and mean it....

  • REAL R&B

It doesn't sound the same anymore. THIS is the real soul style.

  • this the song!!!!!!!

  • omg i love this song!!

  • love this song

  • this song is the bomb. im using this for my birthday party this weekend.

  • Otis should be ashamed of himself!

the temps aint shit without David, Eddie, Paul, and Melvin.....why couldn't he just let it be!?

  • Jeremiah if that's the case then why didn't these guys have success as solo artist and don't forget Dennis Edwards he took over for David after he embarked on his unsuccessful solo junket.

  • True. The only member who had major success as a solo artist was Eddie Kendricks who scored 3 # 1 R&B hits, while his single Keep On Truckin' has been sampled by Lil' Kim, Mr Cheekz and J-Lo. Dennis had one hit as a solo artist.

  • but the original temptations would whoop on these ones but you're right though.....they ain't terrible but the originals would kill them

  • The Tempts have carried on. When David was let go they had several hits. Plus u have to remember that Paul was forced to leave due to health problems and he committed suicide two years afer he left. Eddie and David did rejoin the group in 1982 for a reunion tour, with hopes of having them return on a permanent basis, but that didn't happen due to David's issues and prison service and Eddie's mistrust of Motown. People still wanna see The Temptations perform

  • This is one of my all tme favorite songs.

  • dis is da shit i love dis song

  • i wish all the one's that were on the song my girl were still alive and performing.

  • This song is like an updated version of "My Girl". The combination would make a nice mix. Thanks.

  • This tune has a wonderful sound.

  • it's a good steppin song go on temptations

  • excellent cha cha song can really do some nice things with this on the dance floor cha cha people know what iam talking about go temps

  • now this is real music this is what i grow up on not many can sing these days get on stage they cant compare

  • I like dis song and I think im the only one that has dis song in my country rap is number 1 here and dis sort o music is not played anymore thats a shame :(

  • thas cool they got a baritone singing lead, and still got their versatility with all the voice ranges in one.

  • my old girl friends are old biddies now this song makes me think of them, think you temps.

  • man oh man, i love this song say. this song makes my heart beats strong. nothing but love comes over me. it makes me think of all my old girlfriends

  • Otis Williams the founder of the Temptation and leader. Always in the back ground and keep the talent coming . Yes Otis Williams made the Temptations.

  • i can just listen to music like this all day this one deserves a repeat yes Lord

  • aww......l never heard this song before!! l feel like l'm falling in love with music all over again!! Thank you so much for sharing and God bless!!

  • You Welcome

  • motown baby the greatest on earth

  • guy called Barrington is the main lead on this one

  • Actually Theo Peoples had sang lead on this song, but he left shortly after the album was completed, so they recruited Bo Barington to take his place because they both have similar vocal and singing styles. Bo is lipsynching Theo's part in this video

  • Hey Muzic!! Thanx ! I was wondering about the voices. As a long time favorite of the Temps its so hard to keep up with constant changes, especially when this group does not get the coverage media wise due to time and era in the music world. Great song !

  • Thanks. I didn't know that Theo was singing lead on this song until I read a site which listed who sang lead on each of the songs on the album. I'm pissed that they don't get coverage like they should, but at least they're getting respect from the fans like us.

  • I read Otis' updated autobiography and he said that when producer Narada Michael Walden played him the song, he knew it would be a hit, and after the group recorded it, he felf that the song needed strings, and it topped the Adult Comtemporary charts for 3 months. That song should have been a # 1 R&B hit.

  • Wam! I agree! The Strings really enhance the sound! It is so evident in all of the 70s songs! Example- We've Come To Far To End It Now. Smokey and the Miracles!

  • Also High Energy and Stoned Love by The Supremes. Otis knew what he was talking about, because the song is now a classic

  • Yes we can go on and on!

  • who's on lead?

  • They still sound good. This is music.

  • ole school funk& love

  • Williams looking sharp over there

  • Just beautiful music was all they made. Thank You everyone who ever was a member of the group. All of you were great. cupid4040

  • this lineup of Temptation was the best since the original...i mean every last one of those guys could sing exceptionally well...the album was great...imma fan of old school(especially motown) and still think the originals were best but these guys were some damn good contenders

  • fabulous

  • ***THE TEMPTATION'S #1 MEN'S

GROUP OF ALL TIME*** MR. Terry W.

is talking to me. OOOOOOh smooth.

    *Blessed

  • The updated distillation of the classic Tempts sound was well done with this song. Keep it goin' Otis! Thanks.

  • I love this song---

  • Stay to the mornig baby, rock me girl like I wanna rock you. Ain't that the truth!

  • Charlie Murphy!!!!!!!!!! LOLLLLLLLLL

  • my brothers for life they brought me through so much

  • I've loved these guys since I was in diapers. They're still hot, even after all the changes.

  • This is old school as we can't take nothing away from the original temps this is awesome

  • This is a very very beautiful soul-filling song. It's so passionate, fellas you did very well. I love this song... took me a minute to find out who the artist was but I found it.

  • SammyJoeH (6 days ago) -- The lead on this tune is Barrington "Bo" Henderson. He appears in the video in white, pushing the girl on the swing. Theo contributed to several audios on the album. He does not do the lead on this tune, however.

  • Wrong. Theo Peoples departed during the making of Phoenix Rising. He led 2 songs on the album, Stay, and his own composition, This is My Promise. The video only shows Bo Henderson, so the vid is probably lip synced. I still like it, Im just saying.

  • Bo sang lead on How Can He Hurt You. He tried to join the group in the late 1970's when Dennis first left, He also came close to joining in 1990 when Ali-Ollie was thinking about leaving, He got his chance when Theo left.

  • Go hed on wit yo histry Music. I love your comments!!! I do got a question on dis one though--ain't this Terry singing and Bo lipsynching for the vid?? Blessings!

  • Thanks. You're on the money. Bo is lipsynching Theo's part, while Ron and Terry are lipsynching to their recorded parts. Theo had recorded songs of the Phonexi Rising album before he left and joined The Four Tops and being that he and Bo have similar vocals, it was smart to have him Lipsynch his parts as well as sing them live. I saw them perform this live in 2000 and they killed it. Thanks for the comment and taste in music

  • cool vid, except for the fact that this song was recorded with Theo Peoples, not Bo Henderson.

Back in April I went to go see these guys. Back then I didnt know who the Temptations were (except that they sang My Girl, which I loved). So here I am, sitting in the theater, enjoying the songs, but really waiting for them to sing My Girl. Finally I hear the opening bass beat to My Girl, and I jump on the seat and scream "I LOVE THIS SONG!", then I realized it wasn't My Girl, it was this song lol

  • I am an original Tempts fan, however, through every transformation they have managed to remain a class act producing the most soulful, harmonious, joyful music of all time.

This is beautiful, using the "My Girl" beat feels like an homage to their fallen Tempts!

  • Temptations Forever

  • Great Song!!! The Temptations have never had a problem fitting in with the times, if it be the 60s, 70s, 80s, or the 90s. GO TEMPTATIONS:)

  • Very nice groove

  • This song just makes you want to dance. Nobody does it better than the Tempting Temptations.

  • I'm from the new skool but I'm really into this old skool music

  • I love this song! This is the best line-up since the original Tempts. I think they left Motown again. I saw the Tempts in concert about 6 years ago and they were all very sexy! Thanks LovlyRetta.

  • You welcome

  • this is a great song, brings back the original quality of the old temps, its great..

  • People can say what they want, the originals were the best, but the HARMONIES on this song and their harmonies in general remain greater than great

  • Evlin,

Stay in my heart love for eternity.

    MCMP 2008

  • they are using the same beat from "My Girl",

this doesn't even compare to the temptations From the 60's and 70's

this bass singer is not even half of what Melvin Franklin was

the lead was not even a fourth that Ruffin, Edwards,Paul were

no need to say anything about the falsetto guy, since there will only be ONE EDDIE KENDRICKS

  • The Temptations, are great singers from the 60's until now...they got that style of movement and singing that is so smooth!

  • I love this song, but my main song is "I'm Here", that was a song that made me feel good about myself when I was in a bad relationship!

  • I absolutely love this song. How in the world can the Temps manage to keep finding these who can sing like this? I am also crazy about This Is My Promise To You. I wish someone would post a video of this one if it exist.

  • I'll check it out to see if this video "This Is My Promise To You" exist.

  • The Temptations sent shivers down my spine back in the day and they still do.....how many can you say that about??? Love this song...love anything that they do.

  • temptatons 4 ever this is the jam i dance on this in the club vfw in east st louis by myself i was gettng off i had a nice crowd rooting me

  • Great music, cheers

  • Love this track, and love the fact that 'My Girl' is playing throughout the melody - superb, thank you :O)

  • Another class track,.ktf.

  • thanks bob i love it

  • Very, very nice!

Thanks for posting and to Bob for sharing!

  • thanks for the send bob.only 3 weeks away from seeing them in concert now.

  • classic tempts

  • Excellent send Bob!

  • Is this Theo leading or Bo?

  • I like how it has "My Girl" melody

  • Moi Aussi

    J'adore le Temptations!!

  • I love this song. It's a must play 2 get the mood right!

  • I saw the Temptations mini-series when I was all of 10 years old and ever since then, I 2 have been the biggest fan EVER of this legendary group. The PR album came out the same year the mini-series premiered and I wore this song out. Paul, David, Eddie and Melvin will always be remembered. Temptations Forever.

    P.S.

Theo Peoples straight up killed this song. I wish he could have remained a Temp. The second best lineup the Temps ever had (after the classic 5) was Ali, Theo, Melvin, Otis and Ron.

  • I fell in love with the Tempts at age 5 im 16 now. Man I know over 119 songs by the Tempts no lie. I got the pleasure of having dinner with Mr. Richard Street and met Ali Woodson. Hopefully one day I can meet Otis Williams. IM THE BIGGEST TEMPTATION FAN THERE EVER WILL BE!!!

  • You're so lucky....I adore this group. Check out the upcoming Morris Pleasure album...Ali Woodson has a cut on there called "R U Down"...AMAZING.

  • this will forever jam!

  • this song is great

  • Two words thats all I got (Temptations Forever)

  • Temptations Forever

  • If you want to talk about a latter-day version of an immortal singing group making a great song that also pays homage to the group's legendary past, well this is it! I can't tell you how many older people I played this for who said that this reminded them so much of the original group. Thanks for posting!

  • dyrone 745, Otis is the only Temp left. There is such a thing as a legacy. I love the old Temps with David, Eddie, amd Melvin, but these guys are carrying on a great tradition. And I love the current sound.

  • i luv da temps ....diz hot

  • I am quite sure that the original Temptations including Otis is sad over this one. Yes the future has to go on, but at least let one legend go on with it. You will never get Issac Hayes, or James Brown, or Luther Vangros, or anyone else in the musical family like we had in the old days, till now. Let us tell our musical youngsters that this is what music is all about. Not all of this hip hop.

  • Thank you. If it wasn't for Motown, Stax and Philadelphia International, these kids wouldn't have music to sample in the first place.

  • Yes as far as your other response goes. And this was such a good effort ! Now watch they go and Sample this and then bragg how they did it.I saw some Brothers (young) playing Songs on the Violin last week on a Morning news Program last week, and They play Classical Jazz, ect and Perform on stage in New York city. They are keeping it real so we do have some hope ,maybe!!

  • True I 've met many young people who don't even like today's music and recording artists. That goes to show that they have good taste in music and they appreciate legends like the Tempts.

  • Not liking current music is not indicative of good taste.

  • Not true it's a matter of personal taste todays music does or says very little compared to the music of yesterday especially love songs, where are they, what do they say, what do they touch ?

  • Well, yeah it is a matter of personal taste but it's humanely impossible to be aware of every song that's come out in the last nine years or so. Thus making it impossible to say with any certainty that "todays music is not good". As a matter of fact I think that whole idea is quite laughable and completely uninformed.

  • True from that perspective it's easier to say that you either like or dislike a particular genre of music or music from a different era or time period than to say it's not good.

I stand corrected, an opinion well stated on your behalf with dignity, if more can defend their statement or opinion as you have and others can accept and admit it

we can eliminate ignorance on some level.

  • That's your opion and I wasn't bashing today's music. I said that there are many young people who don't like today's music, and just because a person doens't like a particular style and genre doesn't mean they dont have any taste in music. It shows that they appreciate the pioneers and legends who paved the way for many of today's acts

  • Yeah Music,I think this generation needs to be taught Music Appreciation like we were in school! From Chopin,Mozart,Bach, all the way up to Motown. This is the only way SOME will get to relate and understand the true meaning of this Art!

  • Guys thanks for all the comments,"Temptations Forever".

  • i'm 18 and i love this song

  • I feel ya. I'm 21 and I always loved this song growing up. Good music is good music!

  • It's great to see young people appreciate good music by legendary artists. I got into Motown when I was in 9 grade in 1986, and have been in love with the Tempts eversince

  • anytime you can include "my girl" you can't go wrong....TEMPS RULE!!!!

  • SEE THIS IS MUSIC!!!

  • Classic Tempts....

  • all i have to say is...

    STAYYYYY EEE AYYYY EEE AY!

WITH MEEE EE EEE EE EEE

    OOO OOOOO!!!!!!!

OMG I get goosebumps everytime I hear that part.

    TEMPTATIONS Forever!

  • This is a GREAT song.. and you disabled the embed code.. shame on you ! I wanted to put it on my Yearbook Videos and it won't show up on " SEARCH VIDEOS"..and I can't add it from here, because the code is disabled. That is just wrong.
