Okay....let's hear the truth. How long before the red starts wearing off of the soles? I thought about investing in 3 pairs of Louboutins that I like but I kept reading that the red wears off the first time you wear them.

@scarletletter68 Christian Louboutin actually recommends getting your shoes fitted with protective soles as soon as you get them. The red is only a very thin coating but his site has recommended suppliers that can fit the shoes with red protective soles.

@scarletletter68 The red will start to scuff off on the first wear just like any other shoe. I take mine straight to the shoe repair and have them apply the red Vibram soles and that helps to protect the bottoms but more importantly, gives them grip so I can walk.

@sweetfaceluxe thank you so much. This year my goal was also to makeover my shoe collection (it takes a lot of focus) lol. I would suggest a classic with a kick first. Something like the pigalle 120mm is a great shoe to start with because it's a classic, but because of the heel height and sillouette it's also very sexy which are what Louboutins are also known for. I have the black patent and it is definitely a great shoe, but make sure that you are comfortable with the heel height :-)
