  • OO loads a lot faster an my Nokia N900, but to be fair I dedicated a entire micro-SD card to easy debian which speeded Openoffice up by about 150%.

But OO 3.0 loads in about a third of the time it takes to launch on you're phone.

But still I'm glad it works, with nokia messing up the N9 HP might just be te suplier of my next linux phone.

  • where can i get this one?

  • could you install 7zip and use its archiving power while also being able to manipulate files inside the 8gb drive?

I was hoping for rar support for the terminal app would pop up soon since zip is already with zlib but i think im going to like 7zip...

  • Also would love to see more detailed instructions. Maybe I just need to read further into the thread but the details in the first post were vague (probably for the best). Kind of late now but the wiki is on my list of things to try. Subscribed to the thread to hear of any updates. I noticed in the video that you did not overclock is it for stability? You guys made engadget maybe you convinced more people to get PALM. Keep up the awesome work.

  • Looks great. Anything involving webos internals is freaking awesome. From preware to the sweet list of patches and all the servers. All the hard work from all the developers make this an awesome phone. From phone tracking at all times to being able to start a call or even send text messages from ssh without even having to touch your phone. Webos internals is one of the biggest reasons I keep my Pre even though it loves to break every couple of months. Keep up the good work.

  • How long did it really take to load the first time? You've cut it to 90 seconds, but many people wish to know the real time :) My guess is around 4 minutes.

  • This is probably cooler than all of my life's collective accomplishments... including Tee Ball.

  • What about access to the microphone? Can we install a VoIP app in this manner, and have it work effectively?

  • @skipmeister123 I installed Audacity just for the fun of it and it would register the mic (on level meter) but when trynig to record it'd just crash and die. So I'm not holding my breath for mic based apps.

  • Stunning, wonder if I can get a non PalmOS emulated VNC client working now! Among other native X apps, Oh the potential!!

  • @D0li0 Both VNC and RDP work perfect (short of screen real estate of course)

  • why don't you guys film stuff in regular light? phones show up fine.

  • @galacticox4 Sorry man, all of my lighting scenerios sucked. This was under three living room lights. I hope to make the next vid when I have more time to devote to a better setup.

  • @philboraware no need to apologize. I just posed the question. I see it sometimes. But then i see videos in a well lit room that look perfectly clear. So i just asked wondering if there is some special reason. probably should have just said nothing. interesting though. i'm not gonna do it but you guys that can do this sort of thing have some serious talent. Took me 2 weeks to figure out how to cut off notifications on facebook.

  • Do want!!

  • You guys are wicked! :-D

  • Bravo!

OpenOffice should be a native webOS app.
