  • I'm in the States. It's Howard piano made by Baldwin. It has Cincinnati-Chicago under the Howard name. Thank you for your information! And, thank you for sharing Horowitz!

  • Great find for me! We have a Welte Mignon piano that we must sell but no one wants to restore it. The original player parts were taken off by a previous owner but we still have those parts. Any ideas? I hate to see this tossed to the side like an old shoe.

    Hi Patty,

I see you mention on a different link that it's a Howard-Baldwin Welte. I've never heard of these - is it an american licensee version? Are you in the states? It's always a dilema when you want these instruments to go to a good home. You could try craigslist/ebay/piano world...but you may need to say 'free to a good home, buyer collects'. Good luck!

  • Love the rare roll. This is a great piano restoration. Reproduces to perfection. Well regulated. Bravo! OldSeaDog37

  • beautiful performance!

  • Wonderful! I own 3 Welte pianos and they are truly fantastic instruments. The Technical Museum in Vienna also has a great video and a great display of instruments.

  • wow! really. 3!

  • Thank you for posting. Beautiful performance. The Welte is very expressive. Horowitz's career was just beginning toward the end of the reproducing piano era and so he made a relatively small number of rolls for Welte and later for Aeolian Duo-Art in NYC. I have a couple of his Duo-Art rolls which I play on a Weber Duo-Art grand.

  • I did not know Horowitz recorded these! Thanks for the upload! =)
