Gas Prices R Skyrocketing Under Obama: Oil futures is just that, futures market. Price-per-barrel spikes oil this week have not affected domestic market yet. Iin face former Shell Oil Pres John Hofmeister predicted in Dec 2010, America would face $5/gal gas by 2012, a full month before the revolution in Egypt began. At the end of Bush’s two terms in office, prices were 9% lower than when he took office. The day before Obama was inaugurated average price of a gal was $1.83.

Gas prices rose simply because of nothing more than corporate greed. And it didn't help the automakers were setting up a large number of smaller engine cars to suck fuel like crazy. V8, V6, 4 cylinder, it doesn't matter what engine the vehicle has, what matters is the RPMS.

Electric motors wont sell to people in cold regions. That the problem with people in santa barbra or sanfransico ,california. They think big 4x4's and suvs are so evil because they don't need them in nice weather . But what the heck is a Canadian going to do with a hybrid or a electric car? How is a hybrid Prius going to help me when I need to drive on a dirt road with 6 inches of snow or more and be able to start up in 20- F ?? Never going to happen.

americans love big cars but hate how the price of fuel is easily manipulated by cartels. the footprint left behind by fossil fuelled cars is one more thing going against them. if the big3 can come out with big cars with electric motors would that be awesome?

what i dont understand, is the government should focus on promoting public transits or metros. With a fair of 1.50 to 2.00 a ride, from southern most parts of the island to the furtherst northern part, this will give the option of lowering family expenses on gasoline and increased revenue for government. the money can be used for improvements on public roads and grants to be used by other agencies.

when was the last time a railroad company churned a profit? are you crazy. everyone see 's those transit buses driving around with only 4 people in it . Do you really think ther is profit and charging 2 dolllars per person when they only get 10 or 11 people per hour? The only reason why we even have public transportation in America is because thefederalgovernemntpays the states to have it and allthat money comes from your tax dollars. Ifpeople didn't have to be Fed tax they could afford gas!
