I gave up on overkill locks after getting my Makita Powercutter, anything that can cut a dodge 8.25 inch rear end(video is posted) into 3 pieces with a 5 dollar ductile iron blade,is gonna cut a lock no problems!. Might be better to lockup in an approved spot:)
Yup all locks really are is to stop the oh look a free bike for me to quick ride away on theft. I bought a bike lock today, I wish it was thicker but heck I guess in the end if they really want it and have the time your bike will be gone.
We heard the announcement in the exhibition hall and rushed outside just in time to catch these guys preparing put the bolt cutters to our NYC-strength ABUS lock. Little did we know that they had already failed cutting through the lock. They acted as if they were just starting to cut our lock. They said we were lucky. We were, but not because they were being generous. We were just lucky we had a bad-ass lock.
Super show otherwise and thanks to Portland for a great time. Beers are on us.
