  • Queen wasn't all about Freddie, they're all fucking insane people, love em all.

  • That's definitely Roger on '39. Brian May said it was a "tour de force" for Roger hitting those long high ethereal notes.

  • I'll give this a make-over soon with people's comments in mind

  • i don't think the miracle is one, to be fair

  • @jonnypkmn168 Yeh you're correct, it was higher in my head

  • @borealis69 its a high belted note. thats pretty good

  • Esta muy currado

Si le ponen el galileo de roger estaria completito

  • You bet it's Roger's voice, and I am the singer true fan. Can tell. But it may have been done also with some dials at the studio by Roy Thomas Baker, the unsung master of that sound.

  • siempre pense que el grito de my fairy king era de Freddie

  • Rock in Rio Blues anyone?

  • the lap of the gods scream is HANDS down the best one ever.

  • Queen II is the best!!!

  • LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:47 I love johns face!

  • i never new that the drummer roger actually had the highest vocal range and has the one hitting alot of those crazy fallsetos

  • he was in bohemian rhapsody too

  • luv u roger u r just awesome

  • in the phone picture, roger was phoning me

  • absolutely wonderful *-*

  • Excellent! Can't get enough Roger Taylor so this is perfect. His part in 39' is what made a fan out of me.

  • I love that you took the time to put this together :-D

  • rmt 4 life

  • roger taylor look like yngwie malmsteen or lars ulrich

  • @alexisd3 Lars looks like Roger because Roger is older. Roger is much more handsome than Lars. :)

OMG just love the '70's Roger. He's gorgeous!!!!!! Guess I need to calm down.

  • @alexisd3 No, Roger Taylor looks like Roger Taylor. There is no other. The man was just ludicrously beautiful.

  • @kokotg79 actually a lot fo those screams are by Roger and the rest by Freddie

  • Roger Taylor the underrated and unsung hero of Queen.

  • Una gran voz y grandes coros junto con Freddie y Brian. Por siempre Queen!!!!

  • lots of the pics scare me....

  • Roger Taylor is the dude!!! I always loved his songs and his backing vocals. How lucky were Queen to have him and Freddie Mercury! These guys are all virtuosos.

  • My personal favorite Roger-featured song is definitely "In The Lap of the Gods" especially the opening note.

  • My favorite is The March of the Black Queen. In The Lap of the Gods is great too. Roger is awesome, I love his voice!

  • Rogers notes are legendary just like the man and the band!

  • @Yo1969yo I saw an interview where he said that. :P

  • He was in the Church Choir in his youth

  • Roger once said, "I hit the high registers, Brian hit the low registers and Freddie, well, he hit all the registers."

No one, past and present, will top Freddie's vocals.

In reference to a strong and powerful voice, the only one who is on the same level with Freddie is Elvis.

  • @Yo1969Yo Actually, both May and Mercury could go both pretty low and high whereas Taylor had the highest note and could easily hit some great high notes.

  • It's so sad he said he can't reach those high notes any more. It was like a perfect high pitched laser beam!

  • @yryriza

Too many years of smoking perhaps? There are many great vocalists who can no longer hit the notes like they once did; David Coverdale is a good example.

  • @EgoShredder I'm sure it's partly the smoking, alcohol, and just plain age. Your voice gets deeper as you age.

  • holy fuck roger is amazing can someone tell me wat these songs are called cos i only no like 3 of them

  • Awesome!!

  • damn try to top THAT

  • Roger is a freakin GOD

  • Only talented men can reach that high.

  • Excelente Roger, admirable que un baterista tenga la voz y afinación en notas tan altas como Taylor, un grande.

  • Adam Lambert can do this <3 He's amazing

    OMG ROGER TAYLOR...Amazing!

    LucyXX

  • @SeeYaBassoon Last year in a Twitter Party I posted to Adam: Adam vs. Roger Taylor, who can go higher? Of course he didnt answer, but probably at 60, Rog has lost some of it. But he is STILL AWESOME after all these years, and I am a bigtime Glambert too!

  • so screatchy!!!!!!!!!!!!! my head is going to explode!!!!! to much sheer awsomeness

  • roger was so cute....

  • LOVE ROGER TAYLOR!

  • It's so amazing that Roger and Brian actually would've been good singers themselves. Especially Roger had a Rod Stweart like voice plus he could go much higher. A great band which combined so much talent!

  • This would be an awesome morning alarm call XD

  • haha good ending... Roger Rules...

  • Wow This Voice is... Beautiful and Pretty! :)

  • Freddie and Roger would both double track the high notes, but Roger did have a higher range. Freddie had a more broad voice, though.

  • @RandomRabble

Yeah Freddie early on joked that Roger's high notes were like a dog whistle!

  • @EgoShredder That's funny. Freddie could have done a hir sitcom if he wanted to, or a talk show.

  • No Bo-Rap on there. Thanks though the mans a total genius. Not a bad drummer either.

  • @rmtdrums its a shame bohemian rhapsody is not here there's a lot of roger's harmonies like the famous for MEEEEEEEE!!

  • four pure genius=QUEEN

  • I also think that voice was freddie's one, because sometimes it sounds like him, but I'm not sure

  • so many of this sounds like freddie's voice!!! because freddie did awesome screams too! in my fairy king i think it was freddie and in the prophet song too

  • omg!:.. Roger's voice!!, all of them are very gifted

  • he can still buy and sell any American idol or xfactor contestant and he wasent the lead singer

  • where's he first one from??

    is it My Fairy King?

  • yes

  • Luv you Queen!

  • Yeh that's why I called it Roger Taylor and Queen

  • great falsetto in lap of the gods!!

  • 0:35 - who those dreamy eyes!!!!

  • to me is not a headache....i love when a man can hit those notes....

    ♥ Queen

  • @sisisinonono in bed xD

  • which one is the one at :53

  • It's from The March of The Black Queen. From 0:47 to 0:53 (back voice behind "Do you mean it")it's in the beginning of the song (sth like 0:20), then from 0:54, it's just before the 1st verse of the same song

  • wat about the ones from 1:18 to 1:36?

  • @STAYTOONED2ME Still the same song... Listen to it, it's really great ;-)

  • and Roger

  • hey wat about bohemian rhapsody i thought he did good note there

  • i wonder if he can still do it now

  • Its sad but probably its true... With age the voice deteriorates... But still with 60 years he can reach pretty high... may not be perfect... but I think he can do some of those high notes... Maybe he cant prolongue them so well...

  • He has said in interview that he can't do falsetto much any more but his natural singing voice is higher than it was in his youth.

  • havahduin tossa 1:11 kohdalla: suomenkielistä tekstiä! ootko suomalainen:OO

  • hahha about half of these are from march of the black queen

  • The vocal talent of all the Queen members is incredible, I watched Brian May singing Teo Torriate on tv a few years a go and itwas still fantastic.

  • Nice job, my friend!!

  • jesus christ all of queen is so fucking talented its unbelievable!!

damn, freddie had the range and power in his voice but roger could really hit those falsettos!!

amazing video by the way!! :)

  • Roger ha una voce davvero meravigliosa... non solo per l'incredibile falsetto!!

  • those sopranos that sing just like women like the one on britains got talent are just weird but falsetto like rogers really adds to an overall sound i love queen.

  • amazing voice! But whe is his Gallileoooo ?

  • great

  • YEAAAAAHHHHH his falsetto are the best! fuck off the others!! *joke*

I just ADORE every tune of his voice

he is a genious, thnx 4 posting! =)

  • mancava il GALILEOOO

  • I really miss the end of More Of That Jazz here:

"No more... No moooooore... No MOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAHHH... of that jazz!"

  • oh yeh, how could I have forgotten that one! sorry

  • @Koborover tienes toda la razón!!! increíble voz!!!

  • i love you guy

  • e pazzesco!!!!! I love u!!

  • this actually shows very well how the music of Queen changed during the years, only two songs are from the albums of the 80s

  • Roger could sing in higher notes than Freddie,if u listen carefully in all the 3 vocal harmonies specially in the early days he does sing in the higher notes always,I think only in Innuendo Freddie sung that kind of notes in "all god's people"

  • well freddie sang all the high stuff with roger if you listen closely

there just not as powerful in the mix, but they definitely are there and add more dimension

but im pretty sure freddies recorded range is like E2-F6 or something like that...

  • haha woops thats wat i meant

and i never said roger could...

  • i don't know why this guy gets -6.... this is true.

  • Thanks for sharing this! It's fabulous!

  • a gorgeous man who makes a great sound

  • spettacolare unico inimitabile!

    roger rulez!

  • that man was gorgeous.

  • to me, queen always had 3 amazing singers.

  • roger taylor's vocal range

    A2 - E6

  • Oh hey, I have a lot of comics from the person who made that picture of Roger at 1:35. I thought they only did X Japan, that's pretty cool!

    Awesome video! I love it!

  • genius

  • This is part of what makes Queen's music so beautiful and unique. Each member contributed so much. The band could never be duplicated. All 4 guys are geniuses and have their own awesome talent.

  • Whoa, where did the cartoon picture of Roger come from?

  • hey i have a same serie cartoon picture of brian may on my wall!

  • Comment removed

  • The beginning of Lap of the God is the best for me.

  • Ah Roger's voice is amazing. Thanks for this video!

  • NICE! Man, they could really sing!

  • Comment removed

  • Actually some of the parts in "March of the black queen" are just Freddie's Hormanys not rogers and some are

  • yep, you're right. That's why I put in the description "Queen, in particular roger taylor". There is a distinct difference between mercury and taylor's falsettos

  • Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack and A Night At The Opera are my favourite albums. There are a lot of falsettos there!!! ^^ Very good work ;)

  • Okay, um, wow.

    That was epic.

    ;D

  • I love how high his voice goes in In The Lap Of The Gods :D

  • simplemente lo amo!!!

  • I love his high vocals in '39.

Looking for an isolated track of that one.

  • Fantastic!!!!

    Great!!!!!

    very good staff!

  • a lot of A5 looks like its his highest note

  • yes you may be correct. Or perhaps the favoured key Mercury and May wrote in meant he couldn't go any higher in the correct key.

  • possibly

I think in Bohemian rhapsody he pitchs Bb5

hey do you know what is the register for a tenor baritone and bass??

  • very good.

  • Brilliant!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Question for borealis69: where did u get the pic of roger in those rainbow suspenders during 0:59? cuz he totally ROCKS those suspenders but i cant find the pic anywhere else :(

  • I think that is a picture I've had on my computer for a few years, I cant remember the origin. I'll host it on photobucket later and give you the URL

  • must be fairly early--look at John's hair

  • Great!... but where is Bohemian Rhapsody?.

  • too obvious hehe, everybody know's that one. Actually, I quite forgot. It started off meaning to just be a collection of "aaaAAHHH"'s a-la fairy fellers. Bohemian Rhapsody is more of an 'eeeeeeee' - that's my excuse anyway.

  • Yeah, his "Gallileo" and his extended "let me gooooo>" -- then his "For MEEEE"

  • Although everyone knows that song the "Galileo" he hits is unreal. It's a very, very high note, and it's clean too, which makes it sound even higher.

  • The "galileo" of Bohemian Rhapsody aren't his highest note, even I can sing it. In the end of the opera section "beelzebut has a demon put aside for mee, for meeee, for meEEEEEEEE" is higher. ^^

  • To me the galileo is damn high. The for me note is certainly up there, but the galileo isn't just high, it's clean and it's piercing.

  • the last ''for me'' bit tht Roger does is even higher than tht

  • if you want to listen to something that sounds unreal listen to the end of the queen song "it's late"... freddie has a ridiculously high note, and its so high it almost sounds like the guitar is making the sound... but trust me its freddie :)

  • Are you sure it was Freddie? I thought Roger did all the high notes?

  • yeah 100% sure, roger did a lot of the high notes like when there were vocal overdubbs and "opera" sections, but freddie did a few as well just by himself and "its late" is probably the best example i can think of :)

  • When I first heard Queen, the high notes blew me away. Then when I saw what Roger looked like, it was difficult at first to imagine that this voice came out of him!

  • love that picture in 1:14, because it's taken in Finland :D the text above it says "Queen in Helsinki 1974. In left Freddie Mercury, who died in AIDS 1991" :D

  • thks for the video man =)

  • Wow. Roger doesn't get the respect he deserves for this.

  • roger is great!!

  • Nice! I too have been waiting a long time to hear this.

The last high note Roger does in 39 here was actually altered or sped up because he refused to do it. I've also wondered whether the secondary voice in March of the Black Queen during the long "aaaaaaaaaaaah" parts is actually done in whistle register or if that's done by instrument. There's a kind of shrill whistle.

  • I think a lot of the March of the Black Queen highs are actually Mercury rather than Taylor. But yeh I wouldn't be surprised if there was a non-voice note in the mix there.

Didn't know about Taylor's refusing to do the last note on 39 - he did it live though so it was in his capabilities.

  • Wonderful! I was waiting for someone to make a video about Roger's falsettos! Thank you!
