I can see why the judges chose this. Whilst most people just look for a plot and the like, most people don't really realise the real items that matter: in this case, the use of cinematographic techniques alongside a soundtrack.
The plot, whilst small, is pretty obvious if you are able to watch, and fits the music very well.
The assignment was to conduct an individual research project which would lead to the creation of a showcase film. You were asked to pick a genre, research that genre and come up with a film idea. I'm predicted a D* in Media, so call me a moron when you have something to back it up. I'm glad you couldn't use more material, because it would have had everyone bored for even longer. Did you see the audience when your film was on? Did they look entertained?
I GOT a Dis* in Media. So congratulations, you're expected to get a qualification I already possess.
And who exactly are you, were you there at showcase? Or too busy sucking sour grapes?
If my video didn't deserve to win then why did it? I'm sure a team of media teachers with a huge number of years combined experience know more about film than you do.
