I have been trying to get this trick forever now and i must say within the first two minutes of practicing after your video i have a much better mental conception of the trick, it has really helped! Thanks! :)
Thanks for the tutorial! very well explained, your teaching skills show through. I have been slacking on clubs, but today is a new day! thanks for the motivation.
Think of it as "continious under the arm throws (+exaggerated arm movement)"... and seeing as under the arm is one of the easiest tricks to learn I would say practicing that first and then adding the arm swing later, when "under arms" is solid, would be workable approach for a beginner club juggler.
It's great that you're putting up tutorials though :D
After a lot of patience... regular, lengthy practice and a large amount of determination... I have deduced that this trick is not performable by humans.
Hehe Okay, but i got one Questions. when i try chops. i can easy with my RIGHT hand, but with left, feels like. it has no strenght/power quickenss. any idea ? or is my left arm " menatlly disturbed " hehe

hey nice tutorial man i have one problem i think. i can do the chop (slam and the hop) every throw pretty well with my dominant arm but i've just noticed - my slam doesn't seem to go around and over the other club like yours - i just seem to catch it and slam it diagonally down and towards the middle and hop it. is this correct? or am i at some sort of half-way house.
GREAT tutorial, I have been doing what can only be described as a piss poor version of chops but this got me doing a much better and cleaner version, I'm definatley subscribing to you,
p.s. I saw you said you had trouble explaining mills mess, I have had the same problem when trying to teach it to some people, I find the best way is to use three different colored objects and describe what each one is doing by color
Thanks a lot for the videos. You are awesome. I'm sure you get this asked all the time (but I looked through your videos and didn't see anything on it) - what kind of balls are in the background? Do you have a favorite set of clubs and balls?
Never tried doin chops with knives? You could chop something for real like vegetables at the same time, that would be awesome haha! Thank you again for the tutorial!
Me personally....I am beginning to try working on 4 clubs....and it seems to be very painful so far..i cannot seem to get them(in fountain) to come back down qt such an angle where im not hitting my wrists with the handle ends :/ I need much more work with 441 on clubs with doubles....i am told this helps a lot. right???
it's pretty funny, when I was learning 4 clubs I had bruises about halfway up my forearm. My mom seriously thought I had started doing drugs! Somewhere along the line I figured out that having bruises on your arms is not comfortable and so I figured out how to catch them without getting bruised.
Excellent I saw this trick on a DVD I bought but I skipped over it because the way they taught it made absolutely no sense, this however does, excellent videos!
Have you thought about using one different color club in your tutorials. Being able to watch which club is going to be used could be helpful to the viewer. Not all the time of course, but when you are showing the single chop for example. Thanks for the insperation.
I am a wuss. I am afraid I couldn't do MM justice. I can do it, but not explain it. At least not comfortably. I'm still figuring out how to explain things (witness this long wandering tutorial) and my explanation of MM would be pitiful. Sigh.
I think I'm now going to call this trick "slam-hops"! :-) That will help differentiate it from chops out of passing, which is an entirely different trick that unfortunately has the same name.
It's where you raise the club up overhead and pass it downward instead of upward. I know that's a horrible explanation, but it's hard to describe. Some people also call them Tomahawks.
non- jugglers love this trick, to them it is very visual and it looks like alot of ability isput into this...i personnallly think this is one of the best three club tricks. GREAT JOB ON THE VID!!!
awesome! another very well done tutorial! i always tried chops with under-the-wrist-throws, no wonder i was confused... i think i understand it now, i can't wait till i get it! i'm so excited! thanks Chris!
I know how to do it, and can do short runs, but I never practice clubs. The key to this trick is just like in clawing; you have to move your hand at a specific speed in a direction without having that affect the prop, and that you must practice.

I have come to realize that you are good at making tutorials just because you're a teacher.

Hmm. Try STARTING with that hand a few times. See what that does to train your arm better.

Try doing the slam-hop thing with JUST the non-dominant hand for a while. Don't even drill the other. That might help... Great screenname, btw.

Yes, common question. Inthe background, I think are Russians. But I use 3" beanbags-- sportjugglingco has good ones. I also like 95mm Renegade clubs.

spent 3 hours on doubles and 441 yesterday...finally got 3 runs of 441...and 3 4 club flashes in a row that were actually in place!

Another great tutorial. After watching it, I worked on chops off and on for a whole day and had it by the end of the night.
It's taking a lot longer to make it totally stable, which is what makes chops looks so nice when I see you and other experienced jugglers do them.
Thanks :)
