Anyone else notice he never mentions the folding stock on the weapon. Why? Cause you can't add forwards grips and stocks to pistols without a tax stamp. By doing so its considered a SBR.
It should be noted that this will MSRP for under $500...so, if you already own a full-frame pistol with a tacrail, you can upgrade it to a PDW with this rig for less than $500.
How much will a pistol-caliber "subgun" set you back?
So as expected ... if you actually put a stock on it, you'll have to get an sbr tax stamp. With the price of a pistol + this contraption (starting to hear MSRP ~$369 for the basic), you'd save money just buying a quality dedicated sbr. It is literally adding no capabilities to the weapon and many additional failure points.
I'd be upset that Sig was wasting their time with such a crappy product, but it looks like they put in no time at all.
Why the hell would I want to junk up my pistol with extra crap that has a high (from what I see) high rate to fail. This is a miss sorry Sig! If it comes with a Sig price it will be way way way overpriced.
@gunmum123: Somebody didn't watch the video before posting! Starting @ 1:55 in the clip above, you will see how to do it. Just above the fore end there is a charging handle that can be switched from one side to the other in order to accommodate left or right-handed manipulation of the slide. Hope that helped.
holy shit that's the stupidest thing i've ever seen. If you're gonna go with a carbine, then why not just buy a carbine. Why am i going to gimp myself by using a handgun with a handgun length barrel and put a stock on it and hang 6 pounds of shit off it. Handguns are ment to be secondary weapons that you can deploy fast in the event your primary RIFLE goes down.
@sniperviper351 and who said you have to use a carbine in a cqb situation?? In a cqb situation a handgun without 20 lbs worth of shit on your gun is going to be easier to manipulate. If you were knowingly going into a cqb situation, would you rather have this stupid shit which is basically a huge handgun that could potentially fall apart with hand capacity magazines shooting a handgun caliber with another handgun as a backup or a 11.5" sbr that shoots a rifle round with a handgun as a backup?
@808Arsenal I don't know about you, but a holographic sight, stock, foregrip, and less recoil are going to allow me to be a much more accurate shooter than if I were using just iron sights on a bare pistol. And then you throw a suppressor on there...the ACP rig will be more accurate with a suppressor than a bare pistol with a suppressor.
Just because you don't see a need for it, doesn't mean Sig shouldn't make it and make money from selling it.
@dafunkmonster maybe you should just learn to shoot. But sure. Go ahead and buy that piece of shit if you want. If you need such a crutch to shoot accurately in cqb or you would prefer to use a handgun in a situation where a carbine would be more appropriate because you're cheap, then be my guest.
@808Arsenal: Why take a "handgun length barrel and put a stock on it"? It's much shorter than any M4 carbine currently employed abroad. This allows easier CQB work as less of the weapon is hanging out front of the operator! For kicking in doors in places like Baghdad, this type of system makes a lot more sense than an M4 Carbine! Also, let's not forget that the M4 only uses .223 (5.56 NATO) caliber bullets... This system + .45ACP = REAL stopping power!
@online247365 First of all why don't you read all of my comments before posting. Because you just make yourself look retarded by basically coming up with points that i've already rebutted and debunked. An 11.5" sbr with 30 rounds will easier to manipulate in any cqb situation because it's more ergonomic. It shoots a rifle round which has more stopping power than any practical handgun round.
@online247365 First of all why don't you read all of my comments before posting. @Michael10091988: Most civilians will never own a "subgun", Michael. To the average gun owner then, the Sig ACP is infinitely more useful. This adaptive system, while not perfect, also allows more flexibility than a single-caliber SMG! Want a 9mm one day? No problem. .45acp another? No problem! How many subguns can do that?
Is it just me, or will the suppressor be a problem if the pistol has a ramped barrel? The tolerence is too tight for the can to rise with the barrel and your gun will jam.
@packersfanover18 this thing is meant for placesd where you need elsewhere new papers for each new weapons or other reasons why this woud be a good idea
yes, it has been done already, and no those other things where not epic fails if talking about populairity
@online247365 I could say the same thing about you because you obviously do not seem to understand that the Sig Sauer ACP is nothing more than a waste of money, it does not increase the performance of the firearm whatsoever except in recoil management. Essentially with this you have nothing more than a heavier pistol, which just makes the whole point of even having a pistol moot. The Kel-Tec Sub-2000 is an actual subgun and with the barrel length on it 9mm hits as hard as a .357.
@SaintCarnifex Settle down, its a sweet idea. Sure it doesn't actually make the gun itself more accurate. But it will make the shooter more accurate. Theres no denying that fact. The stock attachment is going to allow people to hold it steadier which = better accuracy. More sight/scope options = better accuracy.
I think its a good idea. Not saying I'm going to go buy one. But it is a good idea.
@dafunkmonster I didnt say anything about accuracy and I did acknowledge that it makes the shooter more accurate, dipshit. I was talking mostly about ballistics, like range, velocity and muzzle energy. If you put this on your pistol all you have is a handgun that is a pound heavier with a bunch of completely unnecessary rails all over the fuckin thing. Also, it does not make your handgun into PDW because PDWs shoot intermediate rifle cartridges instead of pistol rounds.
Gee. dosn't CAA already make something like this? Uhhhh the RONI and the KPOS. All that thing did was make a pistol into a freaking big pistol. Still not a SBR. I would rather pay the tax stamp and have the KPOS than that. Plus, I think that CAA might try to sue for taking there ideah. JUST WAIT AND SEE.
@Armysniper72: There are a lot of people living in states that don't allow Class 2/3 weapons so the tax stamp is not an option for them and therefore, neither is legally owning a SBR. According to ATF, any pistol that has a buttstock & a barrel length of less than 16" is considered to be a SBR and requires a tax stamp. RONI & KPOS are great but are model-specific! The beauty of the Sig design is that with a small adapter, almost ANY rail-equipped pistol is able to be used!
@1IdeaAhead: Does the F/A Glock have a tac-rail on it? Yes! Besides being select-fire, the gun you're talking about is just a regular ol' Glock... It's essentially a model 17 with select fire. Of course this system will work with it!
Wow! Seriously? Now i can turn my p250 into an even bigger disappointment. Sig needs to stick to improving their quality instead of designing the next biggest thing that no one asked for in the first place. Have had several of the newer Sig products, and honestly from here on out if i want a quality Sig product i'll keep my eyes peeled for the older P200 series made in Germany. Those were quality pieces. Sig's to worried about having the bigger market share or something.
Hera Arms TriARii anybody? That's essentially what this is, only the "ACP" has a crappy wire over folder available. No police agencies will buy these and anybody into NFA stuff probably has the money and smarts enough to buy a dedicated pistol caliber SBR. I can imagine some mall ninja putting a Surefire, BUIS, red dot, green laser and Magpul AFG on one of these so they can shoot 30rds off at the local indoor range. Too funny.
@neonshoji: The HERA, RONI, and KPOS models all allow a "mall ninja" to put that same crap on their gun. Without the folding buttstock, the "ACP" is not considered SBR and therefore requires exactly ZERO tax stamp and can be purchased/used by any gun owner! The HERA, RONI, and KPOS models all REQUIRE a tax stamp to be legal... If your point was that people that lack taste will continue to lack taste, I agree. What was your point, exactly?
Interesting but I don't get the point other than hanging a lot of stuff onto a pistol. Maybe if it gave your pistol a 16+ inch barrel and really turned it into a carbine.
WTF?

@SaintCarnifex Recoil management IS accuracy, dipshit. A heavier gun is a more accurate gun. Physics 101.
The point of this rig is so that you don't have to buy a whole new gun...you can take your existing handgun and turn it into a PDW.
Conversely, you can't take a Kel-Tec sub-2000 and stick it in a holster on your hip.
The purpose of this product is to expand the versatility of your existing handguns.
