@CabLuigi He suffered a long-term injury in December 2007, and got into a contract dispute with his club which ended in his contract terminated in the middle of 2008. He was clubless for a year until he joined Bologna in 2009.

@CabLuigi Yeah, the long-term injury was serious. In late 2007 he injured his knee, but the club requested he delay surgery until the end of the season (so he continued playing with painkillers & injections). He finally got his surgery in May 2008...but worse was to follow: He started feeling pain in his knee 2 months after the surgery.

Against Fenerbahce's advice he went to Italy and found out he had developed blood clots on his operated knee!

Fener doctors treated him like shit.
