how can you have two pavement albums but neither of the 2 amazing debut ones, that's like only reading the bit of the bible that has all that dull talk about peace and love and none of the fire and torment stuff.
@visionfirst1970 i see what ur saying, but thats a bold statement. i think the VU will remain the most influential band of all time for a while. all the "genres" that started popping up in rock post-velvet were merely bastardizations of various aspects of lou reeds repertoire. i think pavement is probably the best band to come out since VU, but lou reed is still the most brilliant visionairy in rock-n-roll in my humble opinion.
@MrGrieves1000 I was a bit drunk when I posted this LOL. Sometimes I go back and read my posts and chuckle. My last line, 'trust me" now thats just funny.
Agreed on Reed and the VU 100%. I was a huge fan way back during the butt rock days when all my friends were like Lou who?
Huge Pavement fan and and I will refrain to say that I think they will be very similiar to the VU with there original followers and many new found fans for decades to come!
wowee zowee..thats a szene in vienna, oberlaa,in that big park..there is that pyramid..behind you ll see not water, the water is aliitle bit behind, but it makes no difference..pavement?is that you?heey
still my favourite full length of theirs..watery domestic is my favourite release though.....not to say that crooked and slanted dont rule, as well as the others...but this guy has no clue....he says they dont care about songwriting which is a total joke....whatevs....
I appreciate your effort, but to sound off on Wowee Zowee while admitting you haven't listened to anything of theirs prior to that is like trying to review "The Shining" as Kubrick movie w/out having seen 2001.
"Terror Twilight" is my fave album of theirs....it took me ages to "get" their music/style - surprisingly, they turned out to be my fave band of all time!
i hope your neck feels better by the end of catching up with your videos. i never had this record. if the band says it sucks that's usually not a good sign. i don't like blur. i hope you were head banging at your dj gig. you should read song lyrics like college professors haha. excellent review as always. what are your thoughts on death cab for cutie?
ouch, I've only been into music for the past 5 years. Pretty much loved Pavement since then though. Crooked Rain Crooked Rain is my favorite album of theirs.
great review dude. this is a pavement album i should really give more goes a its the only one i havent properly got into. im really into slanted and enchanted myself and their last album terror twilight had some epic songs on. i may well be seeing them next year. hope your neck gets better man.
this video is pretty much the epitome of periphrasis and tautology
