  • the definition of sin is going against the word of God. It has been said that God's word IS God and is bound by it so he cannot go against it.

  • I'm sorry; I'm being way too picky about what you're using to try to explain ideas. You say many things that are true:

God can sin = true, things are born from potentialities, etc.

  • 46don13, the entire video series is based on the Hypostatic Union (High joined to low, specifically Phili2:7), Isaiah53:10-11 in the LXX, and Ephesians 1:23. THEN I made secular analogies to it. God Infinite UNITING all into Himself, that's the real point. How Godness can 'run' inside finity. Sorry if the secular analogies gave you trouble. But now that you know the verses, see if it's clearer. Else, just forget about the videos, but remember those five infinitives in Isa53:10-11, LXX.

  • I see; I apologize for pouncing on the details you used to explain Hypostatic Union. I'm a math/science/computing geek and such things speak loudly to me, like talking to a dentist who notices your teeth more than others whenever you talk.

One who helpfully shares freely their understanding should never be criticized for doing so, IMO.

  • Oh, your criticism is very precious and welcome! And I'm thrilled you're into math. So here's the parallel: negative and positive numbers are in a stream all fitting together, logically speaking. Take one out and you ruin continuity.

So 'completeness' in the real world can ONLY be a non-ending CYCLE. I'll stop here for now and wait for your feedback.

  • Agreed! And this is one of many distinctions that (we think) differentiates us from God, because of His use of words like Eternal, Alpha and Omega, I Am He who knows the beginning from the end, etc. and our earthly experience which very much differs from this.

But how little do we know that the difference is one of degree, not one of kind or type. We are of divine parentage and purposed to become as such, IMO, and Christ makes this possible.

  • And as in Matt 8:17, to which should also be added 'sin'. Those that speak of man's sin offending God knows not that God is acutely aware of such and to this day lives with the marks caused from answering for it, in intersession for man before the Father.

His experience circumscribes the full course of potentiality of sin and suffering.

This goes far beyond theology; this is real.

  • AMEN, 46don13. It was understanding this spiritual physics which utterly changed my spiritual life. When it first hit me, I wrote a webpage named Fixes(dot)htm and then over the next several YEARS had to keep refining the main text (Fixes is a page on fixes I needed to make in my webpages). I didn't learn of the five infinitives in Isa53:10-11 until AFTER realizing that to Omniscience, the Cross never ends. That is key to what you just wrote.

  • In math, we have the idea of completeness to help us get it right. This concept isn't a part of the way the universe really works. Just as there is no space between quantum states, there is no space between complete states, or in other words, there are no incomplete states.

There is no such thing as untruth, or lies, except in a conscious mind. Rocks, planets, stars and gas do not lie or disobey God's law. Only man is stupid enough to do that!

  • You misunderstand; you're trying to understand God in terms of man's understanding, which makes many things look like paradox.

There's no paradox, except in man's mind.

The math that people use is a tool we contrived, and we know its imperfect and insufficient for describing the universe truly and accurately. In Universe/God understanding, there are no such thing as negative numbers, or even numbers for that matter. This is all man's thing, and it works somewhat, but is very course and clumsy.

  • Are you a hegelian or something?

  • Of course not, Bibletouchstone. I'm using God's own words in Isaiah 53:10-11's LXX to explain how spiritual maturation works.

The parallel to physics is a natural one, but very secondary. Natural physics, like everything else in the universe, comes from God's Word, principles in Romans 1. People just don't realize that.

    It makes a cool analogy.

BTW, someone marked your first version of this comment as 'spam'. I marked it Not Spam. Hope that helps. :)

  • I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I have listen to over 2000 hours of Bible Doctrine as taught by Pastor Thieme.

Firsit, he is not God. Second, he has spent over 50 years of his life studing the Bible and he not only loves God but truth. Bottom line... BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST & YOU SHALL BE SAVED! It's faith alone in Christ alone. period.

  • In Genesis God say he's sorry he made us - that is paradoxical to me........

  • Zitzon, it's in Genesis 6, and it doesn't mean He's sorry. The verse is mistranslated. God announces a change in policy and uses human language of accommodation. But in the Hebrew it's clear it's NOT God who's sorry; translators don't know how to render the impersonal passive. KJV inanely used "it repenteth God", lol. So rest assured, God is not sorry, only the translation is sorry. :)

  • My English translation of Hebrew Tanach Genesis 6:5-7

Hashem saw that the wickedness of Man was great upon the earth,....and Hashem reconsidered having made Man on earth, and he had a heartfelt sadness. And Hashem said, "I will blot out Man whom I created from the face of the ground.....for I have reconsidered My having made them. But Noah..."

This can clearly be interpreted as regret...do you regard this as a translation flaw too?

  • Absolutely flawed, Zitzon. All translations are.

  • Then how do you know what transpired - how can you interpret the Bible at all.

  • Filling of the Spirit, Zitzon. That was always the way. David prayed "take not thy Spirit from me" in Psalm 66:18 (or near that verse). You need God's Power, to know. Name sins to God, then you are filled, just as David said in that Psalm (& also 32:5). For us, that's 1 John 1:9. You get filled with discernment, not emotion, & can then spiritually discern Scripture, 1Cor2. It's both ad hoc & accumulative, as the Spirit builds Christ's Head into your own. That's what true spirituality is. :)
