I have been locked into a stalemate with the computer for nearly a week now and even though my frigates and cruisers keep dieing horribly my Dunov Battlecruisers and Kol Battleships are not only holding back and driving off the advancing enemy fleet but my Dunov's have successfully prevented me from losing a single capitol ship the entire game. I love that ship.

I love using a pair of Dunov Battlecruisers along side a Kol Battleship. The Dunov's Shield Restore ability keeps the trio alive while their EMP Charge ability whipes out enemy shields and antimatter reserves.It's flux field helps keep the whole trio well suplied with their own antimatter keeping the Shield Restore ability going, and compensating for the Kol's low antimatter reserve. Not to mention the Kol's Adaptive Force field really compliments the Dunov's Shield Restore.

You could have used more carriers, you know the little bombers do more dmg than the frigates b/c they can attack faster. I can destroy most structures one shot with two carrier capital ships and 6-7 carrier ships.

I just started playing this game a few days ago, and i love it! However....when i first stumbled upon a pirate base i was like... 0_0; and ran away. They then followed me back to my homeworld and annihilated me....

I wouldn't go against a fully loaded pirate base with NO LESS than 4 or 5 radiance, 2 halcyons, and 2 raptures, and maybe near 15 drone host, and 30 disciples as literal cannon fodder

my strategy for pirates is usually to run in and blow up their little starbase and run! whilst my AI ally is fighting the brunt of the forces.

@QuinnNguyen Yeah, one of the things I find really annoying about this game is that you have to sacrifice all sorts of resources, credits and ships to colonize and rule more and more worlds just to support your massive fleets, it's so annoying! I''d rather have my economy more self-sustaining than growing so much

@zzxcvb98 Laptop CPUs are slower than their desktop counterparts so that might be it, if not then you probably have a very old dual core cpu.

wow that's a really small fleet to take on a pirate base, I usually go in with at least 3 capital ships and a ton of frigates and cruisers.

My first one I call to duty is a KOL class batttleship I usually name it Patriot my fav, other names like Liberty and Executor

My first ship is almost always a Radiance class. I like to build lots of Radiance and Holycron(?) class ships.

My flagship is almost always Celestine. After that comes names like Starblade, Serenade, Ghost, Song of Ariel, Rain, Ethereal, and Serenity.

Biggest fun you will get is by building ALL the TEC capital ships as Marza and have them all be above level 6 for the missile barrage ability. Then collect every single pirate ship around the capital ships and... BOOM!! Activate every missile barrage and the pirates are wasted in seconds.

I see. That makes sense. Although I tend to engage the pirates at the edge of the gravity well, since it protects my carriers. It usually gives my strike-craft a free run on the pirates, or even two, before individual ships engage e/o.

Using your strategy, one can expect a 2 to 1 max kill ratio, because pirates don't have an shields. I can usually get 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 with my strategy.

they always have those heavy cruisers though.i learned to keep my ships grouped together.i managed to pwn a few capital ships of an enemy(being the computer) and all his ships before needing to retreat because his "ally" had arrived.i was about to destroy his last capitals and i nearly destroyed his planet...grrrr.

I tried to pwn some pirates once. got myself three capital ships each with two accompanying wings consisting of about 20 frigates and five cruisers. 150 ships about, three of them named and leveled and a dozen bomber flights.

They lasted about five minutes against the 300-400 ships and 20+ defense turrets the pirates had. Inflicted some serious damage tho. I showed the pirates in the end. Triple Novalith bombardment.

Well since between the turrets and ships they outnumbered me 3 to 1 i think its acceptable that i died off. I actualy inflicted more casualties than i took but the numbers were too stacked. Like i said. A trio of novaliths showed em what for.

yeah, i've found that that is not necessarilly the best idea; the raiding parties are usually weak and when they get powerful odds are that you can still fend them off easily, and the pirate home-world is always heavilly guarded (though a strong, well rounded fleet can still put an end to this threat). Of course it's always good to keep the bounty on their head above yours so that your enemy gets raided and not you.

Meh. I never liked the "sky blue" background colors. It makes it look like you're flying around in the sky and takes away from the "space like" atmosphere.

making a big pewpew run on pirates is always one of the first things i do as soon as i can, and ofcourse make sure the bounty on my head never gets bigger then the one on my opponents heads :) TEC FTW
