  • I love this song. Though I prefer the original key

  • How could you not like this????

  • Sweet lord I know alot of people comment about it but 2:00 -2:55 is the greatest fucking thing i've heard come from an acoustic. Its the most epic thing ever and you can tell antoine feels the same way about it

  • @Outie1179 haha isn't it awesome? the funny thing is it's the only easy part of the song!

  • Dans 50 ans, nous dirons que c'était le paganini de notre époque , pour l'instant , il n'est l'apanage de quelques connaisseurs disséminés à travers le monde....

In 50 years , we'll recognize him as the paganini of our time, for now, he's only admired by a bunch of connoisseurs disseminated around the world...

  • tune?

  • @hjalle10 C G C F Bb D

  • @TheTruth3210 thx :)

  • @TheTruth3210 It works in D A D G C E

  • @seanhiphop905 There are tabs in candyrat of this magnificent piece?

  • @xXxGoyexXx there aren't, but you can find free fan-made tabs on ultimate-guitar(dot)com. The guitar pro tab is excellent!

  • @TheCoachAiree beiber does not need to be mentioned where true music is being watched

  • @lprocker189 true to that; this is real talent right here

  • @TheCoachAiree marked as spam >.> i'm starting a war against comments like this; that are unoriginal and annoying and have nothing to do with the video...mainly the "thumbs up if you aree or disagree" and "the 5 people who disliked this are bla bla bla fans bla bla bla"

  • @markusthefarkus And you just gained a follower in your Crusade. :)

  • I can cover this :D I'll post a cover asap!

  • @InnocenceCorrode If you cover this, send me a link and I'll give you my honest opinion of it

  • @KrisEuphoria Yeah no problem, as soon as i get my hand s on a camera again i'll send u a link

  • I would have liked to have been in the room when he had the brain wave to come up with 2:00-2:55

  • @edallencompassingly is he like, double tapping with his right hand on the higher frets? cause i can't even tell

  • This guy is on a whole other level from average humans.

  • never in my life have i heard a guitar sound as incredibly amazing as this guy makes a guitar sound. wow

  • 2:00-2:55 is orgasmic D: how does he come up with this stuff

  • Mind-blowing music.

  • when i played this lightning shot out of my butt the fretboard bursted into flames the frets melted off the guitar my fingers exploded and the body turned into an atomic bomb. yes, it exploded but the music was so epic i survived. i just got a couple "scratch"es hahahaha get it!! sorry i had to.

  • A most p-o-w-e-r-f-u-l performance. ONE OF THE MOST fantastical this Master has done. As I closed my eyes to listen the first time without watching the artist--my chest + body vibrating with the resonance coming forth from this Work of "Inspirations," appropriately titled. In total Awe. To my Angel that shares these melodious gems; My Heart shouting THANKS to you over and over. 'I carry this in my Heart as I face my challenge Monday, Sept.13. :-) This will bring instant healing.<3 Yep! Huh-huh.

  • awsome

  • Moi je suis définitivement Fan m'sieur Dufour ! :))

  • i could jerk off to this.

  • this tuning sounds weird compared to the album version where he must use a baritone.

  • @zabman23

Yes but I don't think he use baritone guitar. On the album he use CGCFA#D

Thare is one tone up, so DADGCE.

  • That really songs like a big mix of all his other songs :\. Great anyways

  • My god, 0:23 is beautifully played.

  • pouah ! il déboite ce mec ! il est énorme .... j'ai l'impression qu'il a 3 bras ..... où ialors il a un orchestre qui joue derrière lui ....pfffffff il est trop fooooooort !!

  • much better than the studio version!!

  • favorite song of him!

  • I love how he based one of the parts of this song off of Mike Portnoy from Dream Theaters drumming. Thats badass!

    \m/

  • @D3m0nhunter719 uhhh what part?

  • @Soundchaser88 Starts at 2:00

  • man, i love Dufour's music. IMHO, while his brilliance as a player may be matched by a select few (at least the "few" that I'm aware of), his compositions are in a league of their own.

On a side note, and this is what's really ticking me off sometimes, is how little views this vid received, especially in comparison to some of the other vids of mediocre performances and/or compositions by other musicians that float around on you tube.

  • Thanks to Antoine, I am proud to be calling my acoustic guitar an axe.

  • I've watched lots of his videos and this guy's rather unique compared to the other guitarists @ candyrat. He likes to use harmonics a lot :D

    And I think it's awesome.

  • the transition with the harmonic at 0:57 is sick

  • I can have sex to 2:00

  • @Dpeezy93

    xD

  • He's amazing.

  • does this remind anyone else of don ross loaded lather Jacket?

  • Stupefacente:)

  • Its like Segovia got ahold of Days of the New and taught them how to actuallly play.

  • anyone else sweating. i find myself sweating?

  • @crayZtaco7 hahaha i'm pretty greasy over here too

  • I have to stop listening to his music. I'm getting tired of picking my brains up off the floor, lol.

  • this song shud have 25million views. 25million thumbs up

  • @yenrayNg Nah, this song at least deserves 5000 trillion views.

  • this video is very inspiring. No doubt Dufour named his song Inspirations.

    continue to rock on :)

  • *dies*

  • man antoines totally into his song...the 5 people that dint like this song should probably kill themselves as they clearly dont know what talent is

  • so far, i think he's the best acoustic player i've seen so far in my life.

  • this is fking sick fking sick man , fk man see what happens when u have musical knowledge and u jam WTF

  • ya, pretty AMAZING!! Thank you for that, nice work.

  • I love the way he plays, and he is sooo handsome!!!

  • Absolutely Amazing!!!

  • I'm going outside to burn my guitar now...Thanks Antoine...a%$#%!hole..: )

  • Can someone explain the technique behind a slap harmonic? I'm just slapping the neck of my guitar like an idiot and it's not sounding the way it should at all haha...

  • Just slap the harmonic instead of picking it . =) Do you know how to do harmonics..?

  • the best way to do it is to go to the 12th fret and slap it on the bar of it closest to the 13th. It takes a couple tries to get the hang of it as I've been playing for 4 years and have been playing extended techniques like this for 2. But once you get it (which shouldn't take long) it's fun to do. Reply to this to let me know you get it.

  • 4 years? only big fking deal

  • just slap the 12 fret until u get it. it will take time, trust me.

  • @bmxtra211 make sure you slap it right at the fret, not in between, and make sure you're hitting the right fret-i mess this up when i'm playing chords and the harmonic isn't at the 12 or 7

  • @bmxtra211 its just something that comes with practice... cause ur supposed to flick ur wrist at the right spot to hit the strings, but not touch the fret board

  • @connormallory - you DO have to hit the fretboard actually. Directly on the metal fret. Just hitting the strings won't do anything!

I have no idea how Antoine is able to do slap harmonics with his index finger... I can only get them to ring out when I use my middle finger like Andy does.

  • @Rael0505 cause you blatently dont practice cause i can do it the way antoine does

  • @ox0Jason0xo ooh! Hostile? I'm just saying I'm used to practicing the way Andy does by hitting them with my middle finger instead of my index finger. I figure it doesn't make a difference because you get the same sound either way, I just find I get more power with my middle finger.

and I was still right in correcting connormallory about hitting the fretboard.

Thanks for being so friendly ;)

  • @Rael0505 lol i dident mean it to sound bad i just thought you were saying that you couldent do it and all you need to do is practice i get real annoyed when i see ppl on youtube saying they cant do stuff because they can i learnt this song 2day(hence being on the vid gotta play along with the master =P )but as much as i love antoines music all his stuff is easy to play but just not easy to master and play like him but it just takes practice try slapping harmonics with ur index ull get it easy

  • @bmxtra211 you have to accurately strike 12, 7, or 5 frets above the fret you are using. If its an open string slap 12. if you have the 5th fret barred hit 17th....so on and so on.

  • 2:00 is awesome.

  • which the tuning?

qual a afinaçao que ele usa nessa musica ?????

  • @gesseferro

    DADGCE

Part from 2:00 to 2:55 is best stuff, that I ever heart by AD.

  • Absolutely Amazing!

  • na, it isn't the hardest song of antoine's to learn and not hard at all when you compare it to something like Gorthon from robert taylor, in which the last section is pure insanity. but this is a quality song worthwhile practicing for

  • nothing against Gorthon but that ending is just hammer ons and pull offs. honestly what i find difficult is syncopation between either 2 strings or 2 fingers just cause it's completely different tempos...its not about how fancy or fast something looks but how much you have to think in order to play it

  • omg 1:40 is fuckin dirty.

  • @iRockyy haha xD perfect!

  • @iRockyy 0:01 - 4:33 is dirtier.

  • once upon a time, a genius was welded to an acoustic guitar... here is it!

  • This is possibly his hardest to learn.... TRUST me... >:S

  • Yes, I think that too. This is his hardest song.

  • How can be someone so genius?

  • i believe these 'triplets' are just 16 notes on the and of 4 going into the 1.. that aside its a really cool technique

  • he looks like frankie boyle,

    that aside, hes AMAZING

  • agreed!

  • I thought i knew all of Antoines songs. DAMN IT! ANTOINE!! YOU FREAK!!

    ICaAN"T GEt EnUOGhh!!!

  • awesome!

i've never headbanged to acoustic music before.

  • haha, i've headbanged with atleast 15 acoustic songs :p

  • @GizmoGuy77 YEAHHH!

  • @GizmoGuy77 never headbanged to acoustic music?

Ever heard Master Exploder by Tenacious D? :P

  • nice played

  • Comment removed

  • yo ive noticed that in most of his songs when he does his slapping shit he like taps the E string and it adds that extra little bit of awesomness to his songs...

the only problem is i cant figure out exactly what the fuck he is doing...

any one wanna help me out here???

  • except in this case its not the E string its C string. lol

  • I'm pretty sure they are artificial harmonics.

  • i'm playing rylynn by andy mckee for my recital, and also learned dufour's tune spiritual groove -

the technique is to slap the fretboard with your finger, but so fast that it hits the strings as if it were an artificial harmonic. sit there for about an hour and keep slapping the fretboard - thats how i learned it

  • I know what you mean, the triplet sounds he's making before slapping on the harmonic. He is slapping around the low E string with his middle finger, fallowed by his index.. the third beat of that is a hammer-on with his left hand. This is done very fast! xD Hope it helps.

  • If you're talking about what i think you are, then I believe he's tapping the (open) string twice very quickly to add a triplet beat.

  • The tapping part reminds me of spiritual groove! This one rocks!

  • this feels like a mix of at least 2 of his other songs

  • i think development, and drac and friends are the ones your thinkin about, with a little bit of spritual groove,,, this is one of my favs along with scratch

  • yeah thats what it sounds like to me too. kinda like he consolidated the best parts into one

  • but drac and friends is not one of his songs :P

  • Mother is my fav dufour but this is definatly a close second. ^_^

  • SOOOO GROOVY!!! wicked song! the chorus is way catchy. the tapping part was sweet too, but i think it went on a little too long...

  • the last 10 seconds of this video are soo epic

  • he's ok, I GUESS. canadians have nothing better to do than kick everyone elses ass in guitar.

is that a whole step down?

  • no its in DADGCE, and dont kid yourself, this guys great, and if you want an american who also kicks ass, listen to robert taylor

  • so good .........no comment

  • This guy deserves a statue...

  • I think the title should Great Father Dufour

just like diekey108 used in the description

  • i buoght the tabs for his songs (this one in particular)and they are AWSOME! i really recommend it for yall antione lovers...

  • That guitar is just as amazing as he is...If I was a guitar, I would kidnap him and force him to play me

  • i personally think the slap harmonics sound better with the D string dropped to C...

  • Canadian ^^'

  • is he italian?

  • No he's canadian.

  • DADGCE. Same tuning as Spiritual Groove!

  • :D He works well with that tuning haha

  • it's also the same tuning as Development

  • orgasmmm

  • perfect.

  • God of hammerons

  • i dont get what is so bad about this comment...

you cant have one without the other...

thats all he is trying to say...

  • Actually you can tune the song either to DADGCE which sounds exactly like in this video.

From his album it's CGCFBbD. it's more like 1 or 2 half step lower than DADGCE.

  • this is so amazing

  • This is the shit! 2:00 OMG!!!!

If you dont bumpin' your head to this, check your pulse.

  • XD haha

  • you are so right on that

  • godly

  • 5th, 7th, 12th, can get a few at 16th, 19th, 24th, best harmonics are split into thirds down the fretboard...

  • Don't forget about the 24th fret. Even if you dont have 24 frets its still just right past the end of the fret board on the guitar.

  • cool song as always!

btw, is it DADGAD tuning or what?

  • CGCFBbD

  • it's DADGCE

  • yup, this tuning is the same he uses for 'Development', 'Spiritual groove', 'Heart of matter' and a couple of other songs. Have fun!

  • same as drop d but tune the B up to a C

  • according to the official tab it's actually

    CGCFA#D

    i think..

  • Well.. I do have the tabs, and it really is DADGCE. Look at the myspace of AD, there's a whole tuninglist of all his songs.

  • I just checked his tunings list and marmarflam is correct it is in fact CGCFBbD

  • well, CGCFA#D is the same with DADGCE as far as how the strings are tuned to each other. Antoine uses the first one on the album version and the 2nd on this video. they are the same thing, CGCFA#D is just a whole step lower.

  • Excellent. I'm surprised that Candyrat didn't post this.

  • No it isn't, this is from his older record. But the song 'Mother' is from his dvd with Andy Mckee

  • LOL! I think it's funny how if someone says something remotely negative, they get hate mail for days. That's devotion i guess... Aww crap please don't hate me! Antoine OWNS!

  • c00l song...has nice tones...i like the mix of some deeper notes and higher ones...good work
