@laithlaith91 They got the advice from some label guy. He wanted to sign Pantera and was talking to dime and vinnie's dad about them. Their dad said he didn't want to sign because he had never heard of the label before, but the label guy told him that if they wanted to get signed by a major record label they had to pick a genre and stick with it. They all preferred that this style. And I don't really want to argue about this too much, but they are not overrated. They're all amazing musicians.

Before Cowboys from Hell they were all pretty different, their sound and image. Look up DIAMOND Darrel on Google Images and the first result is obvious.
They were always good though, but they didn't always have the tough-metal-guy image like you think.

Pantera is underrated? wt r u talking about? If anything they're 1 of the most overrated bands in metal now thanks to Dimebag's death,underrated bands are bands like Pagan Altar and Torture that get little to no attention watsoever but they kick just about everybodys ass, and wen u say didnt change to appeal to anyone, they did change to appeal to thrashers, they used to b a traditional metal/hard rock band with glam elements but then they changed their style to appeal to the extreme crowds

@laithlaith91 they didn't change they're style to appeal to anyone. They did it because they were given advice to pick one genre to play and stick with it. They all liked that particular style the most and stuck with it. They're also not overrated. they're not underrated either.

@laithlaith91 They got the advice from some label guy. He wanted to sign Pantera and was talking to dime and vinnie's dad about them. Their dad said he didn't want to sign because he had never heard of the label before, but the label guy told him that if they wanted to get signed by a major record label they had to pick a genre and stick with it. They all preferred that this style. And I don't really want to argue about this too much, but they are not overrated. They're all amazing musicians.

Slayer well, their Slayer; lame and repetitive solos and riffs that are mistakenly questioned " Wasn't that on the last album?" Pantera, Now I've said this once and I'll say it again they are not overrated, maybe Dimebag a bit because of his death. But Pantera came out with the heaviest albums and none of them were shit. Also Rob Halford asked Pantera and the boys to help him with his side project he had at the time and even jammed with them occasionally. So? I was in Berlin when they had the Death Magnetic opening gig. Band was great, audiance was a bunch of pussies, they didn't come to throw the fuck down they just stood there and looked at the stage, there's mroe movement at a U2 concert! The mosh pit was more like a mosh hole! Seriously, people gave me shit, nasty looks and all for going crazy. Tehy were all 'How dare you try to push me, calm down!' Never again to a Metallica concert. It's sad, so sad...
