excuse me i thought farmhouse kitchen was that northern lass dorothy summat? and the theme tune was much better than this, flutes and vibraphones? was this 'farmhouse' for the thrusting yuppie era
The BFI database suggests this was the last ever episode. Incidentally, Paul Lally was a co-presenter on the programme in one of its early series. Dorothy Sleightholme was its best known host, but Mary Berry presented for a while too. It was also, briefly, made at Tyne Tees in the early 70s before returning to Kirkstall Rd.
Is she your grandma? Wow! her programme rocked! I loved listening to her and watching hw she made great food sound great! Thames showed it at weekday lunchtimes at 2pm I remember!
Cailing, scroll down the related videos on the right of screen and click "Channel 4 continuity into Farmhouse Kitchen" It's on at the very end so skip the first 10 mins.
That sticky malt loaf looks really good. I would love the recipe for that.

Intro bloke manages to make "She's *baking* again" sound like a filthy euphemism.

Sorry to argue powerspade but I'm sure she was called Dorothy Sleightholme

The Farmhouse Kitchen Microwave cookbook was written by Jenny Webb, who never featured in the series.
Jenny can be seen on YouTube on the Appliance Historian channel.

A whole 1:21 mins without mentioning her books, can that be a record? Nicely displayed though.

Thanks Grace. I bake only occasionally and need some encouragement so this was particularly helpful for me.

Oh, how I loved this. And the lovely Scottish accent really added to it. Does anybody have the theme tune from the 70s?

I used to watch this at my Grandma's when I was off school on Tyne Tees too. She'd change over to Pebble Mill afterwards I think.
