this performance shows exactly -the huge amount of apreciacion for freddie..
they know that he would have wanted them to keep playing and do the show..and thats what they did..despite(you can see it in their faces) not feeling well or being happy..they put on a good show and the packed crowd liked it,cheered, cried, sang along..this is the way of doing it people!!!
Wow John Deacon has really nailed the bass line while Roger and Brian power away. The late great Mick Ronson is also excellent of course playing someone elses riff but Deaky steals this one by a country mile.
David bowie não é cantor, é sim um carateca, todos sabem do seu passado, seu nariz é ferramenta de trabalho, estica um pra gente comemorar o tri do peixão ae narina de aspirador kkkkkkk
Can't help feeling that Bowie made a play to be the front man for Queen after Freddy went, and the band told him to fuck off. Could be totally wrong of course, but Bowie always did so well with Mick, and with Mick's demise as welll, it would have been a logical move. Any comments there???
@tatsuko1 Yes, you are totally wrong. He never expressed any desire to be a part of Queen. If you know anything about Bowie, you would know that would be absurd.
Can't help feeling that Bowie made a play to be the front man for Queen after Freddy went, and the band told him to fuck off. Could be totally wrong of course, but Bowie always did so well with Mick, and with Mick's demise as welll, it would have been a logical move. Any comments there???
in 84 i meet my bf when this song came on me and my bf meet at we danced all night and my mother came in while we where kissing and slow danceing it was kinda awsome
@oneofanceantproficy well we havent spoken since my wedding but her husbands a homophobe christan iam going to mail him a coppy of kevin smiths new moive red state about the preacher fear GOD and pastic bags with ducktape
Queen is such a great band. Heroes is such an overly simple song, yet they give it a lot of heart and own it comfortably. But, of course, the real highlight is David's vocal.
However, what would have been really awesome would have been hearing this with Freddie!
@sex6cult9revolution when did you last play "heroes" in concert? I cannot believe the comment. Did you listen to the drummer?. Can you keep the tempo?
@r5d7drd What's your point? And who are you to assume anything about anonymous people on the internet? I actually CAN play it, but that's not the point. Maybe I should have called it "repetitive" more than "overly simple", but my point was that they play it well. A lot of other bands wouldn't.
@sex6cult9revolution Agreed. Bowie is one of my faves whoever is backing him. You should know that live music is much different than studio work. My point is that you are not on stage with Bowie, making the remark that it is repetetive. Most music works off of the same tempo, chord progression, etc. You should preface your statement that you are a drummer with the skillset of a professional. It is all good to me. I just don't ike bashing a musician that is obviously talented.
That's cool, but there's something you're not getting. I never bashed anything. "Repetitive" for example, does not have to be perceived as a negative thing. One should like all kinds of music. I didn't place any value on that statement.
And neither do I think I need to preface my remarks with "I'm a musician". This is an open forum and everyone has a right to their opinion or to share their experience. I can see UR younger - which is fine - just don't take everything as a competition.
@sex6cult9revolution No, I am not younger, and heard the original tune on vinyl. You see it your way, I see it mine. Enough of the banter, I am probably older than most, but that does not matter. All the best to you, and yours. No competition, just trained observation. In closing, I do like your screen name.
Rember MICK RONSON, Spider of Mars, long time guitarist companion with Bowie, great session man. Early departed, never forgotten by people who met his charisma. I was one of the lucky ones. Mick, your guitar plays forever in my ears.
That's Mick Ronson on the guitar. the sad part of this song is Mick said it would be the last time he would perform it in public. Ronson died a few months later from cancer
@Deathon2legs2002 He worked with Bowie and a band I'm not really familiar with called The Spiders from mars He is also featured in John Mellencamp's Jack and Diane. He died nearly a year later.
I think this is the best version of this beautiful song because the bassman is John Deacon, the guitarist is Brian May and the drummer is Rodger Taylor and they sing with great Bowie for a TRUE LEGEND One who was more than a musician more than just a human... for me if you want...
@yolowell yeah! that's what means being GREAT! being able to give each time you want a different version of a song. not like today where the "mtv-version" is the same every time you hear a song...
When we wake up to the truth of life, inspired music like this will emerge and flourish again, and all the uninspired crap that people call "music" these days will fade away and be forgotten. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.
