Father Logan and Father Flimming, can kiss all their asses. We are 'ALL' of children of God as Erica said,in which I second that. If it were really 'A CHOICE' to be 'Gay,Lesbian,Bisexual, or Transgender' then that would mean that people who are Straight (like myself) 'chose' to be Straight above the other 'choices' that are left to 'CHOOSE FROM' and others of Bisexuality and Transgenderism, 'NO ONE' would have a problem with being who they are..period point blank. 'NO EXCUSES'. -Branden
1. Bianca did not have an unrequited crush on Zarf/Zoe; it was the other way around, though Bianca eventually developed romantic feelings for Zarf/Zoe.
2. After "coming out," Bianca was celibate for almost three years...until soon after her kiss with Lena, and hardly "got any" with Lena. My point? Bianca' s not always had the most active sex life.
3. Bianca has likely had more air time while gay than Luke, since she was on a lot from 2000-2005, and then several additional months twice.
Oh ha I was going to be all bitchy and correct you that Luke IS sexually active, but then I checked my facts and the Nuke sex happened sometime this year, and you posted this video in 2008.
As a bit of follow up to this, Reese's father arrived in Pine Valley on Friday. He's being played by Frank Runyon (ex-Steve Andropolus,ATWT). He'll also be on Monday's episode where he will tell Bianca that Reese was engaged to a man named Simon (and no it's not that Simon) when they met, which will upset Bianca and Erica will put Reese on notice. Simon is supposed to turn up soon too.
WOW to Bianca and Reese's house! Why can't rich boy Luke have something like that? I especially love that central fireplace. I know that ATWT has had major budgetary cutbacks for set design (explaining all the outdoor scenes with shaky handheld cameras), but c'mon, it's Luke -- and we all know that gays have faaaaaabulous homes! :)
Unfortunately, it's not their house. It's Zack Slater's (the father of the baby and Bianca's brother-in-law). They are staying with him while his wife (Bianca's sister) is in a coma and helping to take care of his 2 boys. But yeah, it is a badass house!
Thanks for clearing that up. I don't watch AMC but know of the comatose sister (Kendall?). Regardless, it's a great design and would love to duplicate it if we ever design our own place.
Lip lock? Which lips? :) Sorry, as a sex researcher, I couldn't resist. For those who don't get what I mean, look up the Latin word for "lip" and get out an anatomy chart!
> I have watched amc since the late 80s and I

Traitor! My god, how do you keep all the ATWT and AMC characters straight??? (no pun intended)
I have watched ATWT since...awe...lets just say I remember Chris & Nancy when it was just their kids and the show was in black and white. And when 'gay' meant happy...lol
Do you remember Hank, the first gay character on atwt??
I do! He worked with Barbara. I grew up on ATWT. My mom used to be a regular viewer until about 1998. She wasn't happy with the way the writers were doing with the show after Douglas Marland passed away. I haven't watched AMC as long though.
Erica should have told him to go to hell. That was disgusting that he wouldn't christen the baby. Way to go Erica, for at least kicking him out, and for telling him off.
I give them props as well for airing it, and you are right about the protests. I just thought it would have been funny if she had said that. I am not a very religious person, but I do believe that no matter what your sexual orentation is, that god excepts you. Because like Erica said we are all gods children.
Looks like they've progressed further in Pine Valley, where ABC's All My Children takes place. Like Luke Snyder, Bianca Montgomery is a major gay character. She is the daughter of the legendary Erica Kane, played by the equally legendary Susan Lucci.
Teenager Bianca came out as a lesbian in 2000, 5 years before Luke, although there were other gay teen soap characters before that, i.e. Billy Douglas in One Life to Live, 1993. However, unlike Bianca and Luke, Billy was a minor character.
While Luke is the first major gay teen male in a US soap, Bianca beats Luke in several ways.
1) She had the first close-up same-sex kiss in a US soap in 2003, 4 years before Nuke. Her airport kiss with Lena was very tame though, and lacked the passion of Nuke's first kiss.
2) Bianca has had several girlfriends. Luke has only dated Noah.
3) Bianca has had other relationships, including an unrequited one with a male-to-female transsexual, Zoe.
4) Bianca is sexually active. Luke is still a virgin.
5) Bianca has given birth. I suggested that ATWT make Maddie pregnant from her encounter with Noah, and then giving up the child to Nuke in order to attend college. I thought it would have been a great twist, giving ATWT a record for having the first gay teen male parents. Most of my viewers were against that idea, however.
6) Bianca's current girlfriend, Reese, has proposed and the two are engaged to be married. Luke has yet to go beyond a kiss.
Despite Bianca's superior sexual development, I find Luke/Nuke superior in many ways:
1) Their kisses are much more passionate than anything Bianca has done. This is especially true of their first kisses
2) Although Bianca has had several relationships, Nuke is the longest lasting same-sex relationship ever in US soaps, and arguably the longest one in all of US TV.
3) I believe Nuke has had more kisses, with 18 so far.
4) I'm still collecting data but I believe Luke has had more continuous airtime than Bianca, who was gone for long stretches of time. This actually brings up an interesting stat, which I've discussed with GLAAD:
I argued that Luke is the longest running gay male character in US TV history based on total airtime. But Luke has only been gay since 2005, whereas Will & Grace ran for 8 years (1998-2006). And Frasier had the obviously gay (but married) Gil Chesterton for 10 years (1994-2004).
Yet gay Luke has had more airtime since ATWT airs about 255 new 42 mins episodes yearly. Primetime sitcoms only air weekly, lasts about 22 mins and there are only about 20 new episodes each year. The rest are repeats. So while Gil was active 1994-2004, he was a minor character who was only in 29 episodes.
So what's more important: The amount of airtime being gay or the number of years the character has been gay on the show? We eventually decided that one can't compare soaps and primetime TV.

Well.
Maddie pregnant from her encounter with Noah... Good idea. If it doesn't separate more Luke and Noah.
And I don't want Luke to date a lot of guys, he loves Noah so NO ONE ELSE!!!!!

Telling a man of GOD to go to HELL? :)
Imagine the protests from Catholics! I give AMC a lot of credit for airing this storyline so soon after Prop 8.
