  • The river is the worst part because you have a drainage runoff that snakes through the city nearly parallel to the highway. My teacher told me about a flood in Tucson that happened in the summer of 1990 when there was at least three feet of water and grills floated in a trailer park. That was a twenty year flood. Whoops! 1990 was 20 years ago!

  • How many lives has the notorious Stone Ave. taken? Too many people have gotten sucked under it

  • Reminds me of when I lived in Vegas during the late 80s, early 90s. An afternoon thunderstorm would come and flood half the city

  • Are there no drains there?

  • @sobefobik yes there are storm drains but sometimes the rains come down so suddenly and fast that they can't keep up. back 30-40 years ago, some of the north-south roads were built as big U-shaped channels to carry the water to the river bed and, every year, there'd be cars carried off.

  • @sobefobik not that many drains compared to back east i lived in az for 5 years now and our drainage sucks butt and grew up in newyork and maryland
