if yuou edit it you need to start a new game and then the changes will appear

Make sure you have saved the database.

or it cold be that your not using the saved database on the game you are playing.

there's another way you can do it depending on whether you play it off of steam or the disc (how you installed the game)

go on to 'my computer' then Local disk (c:). then click on the folder 'program files' then the 'steam' folder. in that folder you should see the folder 'steam apps' go in there and then inside the folder 'common'. then go in to 'football manager 2009' after that go into the folder 'tools' and in there you should find a folder 'data editor' go in to that folder and select the program 'data editor'
