Thought Kristen Kreuk was incredible as Lana, by the way - I'm guessing that her and Annette's interpretations of the character were fairly different (and obviously by this point she is no longer human Kryptonite, or still wearing a Luthercorp super-suit).

so many people believe 4 was better than 3. III grossed $60 milllion and IV grossed only 15 million with a budget of 17 million. So part 4 lost money. I still prefer III to 4. Problem is it became a Richard Pryor movie with Superman rather than a Superman movie with Richard Pryor.

@Steve10578 Unfortunately, they wanted to give Richard Pryor a big part in this movie. It was a bit like taking the Otis character from Superman 1 and saying, "Let's make it about Superman and that guy!" A very weird idea. But the romance between Lana and Clark is one of the redeeming things about Superman III. All things considered, Superman III is a nice diversion and has it's sweet moments thanks to Reeve and O'toole.

That's a nice bit of acting. But the Superman franchise went steadily downhill from Superman II onwards. The best bits are still from "Superman The Movie", the Smallville and the 'Can You Read My Mind' sequences have stood the test of time as has the "Would you stop..." sequence near the end of Superman II.

When Superman 3 first hit TV broadcast in the 80s all the deleted scenes were in the whole film. Now on the DVD version and lately TV broadcasts of Superman 3 these scenes are ommitted. It really sucks because these scenes ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE in the film.
