Hello! brilliant video! can you say what you used for the system to your FPV flights? such as camera, transmitter, receiver for the plan and vision and more.
@emoklan Actually it's remarkably cheap. The aircraft is <$100... The most expensive part is the video gear which is only a couple hundred dollars too. Not to mention you dont need a pilots license like an ultralight :-)
@tapper45 Fine, now go out and buy an ultralight for less than $100, PLUS can you guarantee me that EVERY COUNTRY regulates the same as yours and DONT require licenses for ultralights? Try THINKING for 2 seconds before you jump down someones neck about something which you clearly cant answer for everyone.
@ferrett78 you're canadian. translation: not relevant. you brought up YOUR "laws", i related gun law. quit "trying on" intelligence, it doesn't suit you. i could care less about the "crime" rate you're speaking of either. you're a typical gun hater. you relate "crime" to guns. "GUN CRIME" is a different story altogether. anyone who is victimized with a gun, SHOULDA HAD A GUN. no shit an rc plane is cheaper to buy and fly. do you think that saying that proves that you're smart?
@tapper45 LOL typical... yeah, makes sense - the only way to reduce crimes committed with firearms is to give more people firearms... Makes total sense. Dont worry about me 'trying on' intelligence - Im surprised you can even SPELL it.
And no, it doesnt prove Im smart, it just demonstrates that you arent - something that you seem almost anxious to repeat :-)
BTW, I didnt bring up my laws - You brought up YOURS. I simply pointed out that YOURS arent the same for everyone. Try to keep up.
"PLUS can you guarantee me that EVERY COUNTRY regulates the same as yours and DONT require licenses for ultralights?"
that would be YOU "bringing up" law.
let me know if you need help remembering anything else you've typed.
in america, where guns are legal, it is proven time and time again with cold, hard, un-biased statistics that the possible presence of firearms deters crime.
look at austrailia where violent crime went up 1,300% the month after gun confiscation.
@tapper45 "look at austrailia where violent crime went up 1,300% the month after gun confiscation."
You really should get your statistics from somewhere other than the NRA - those particular figures were shown to be a spectacular effort in deliberately fudging statistics.... You should really report things like (1995-2005):
-Criminal incidents involving firearms: Down 44%
-Homicides involving firearms: Down 50%
-Percentage of violent crimes involving firearms as weapon: Down 55%
@ferrett78 someone flagged your post 42 seconds after you posted it. one of mine too. if "my" statistics are flawed then so are yours. you have stated nothing relevant. i have hunted in aus. recently. the police there, and the hunting guides both told me that they had outlawed private firearm ownership. hunting arms only are still available for rent for hunting only. they don't have an olympic shooting team anymore. why do you think that is? perhaps you don't know shit.
@tapper45 Well That last part was complete BS. Again, you're stating facts which "you heard" that arent true. A simple 2 second Google search for "Australian olympic shooting" would have SHOWN you how incorrect you are. A similar search on "australian gun laws" would show you how wrong the rest is.
If you are going to state something is fact, you should, I dunno, check it IS a fact first?
PS: liberal democracy. But hey, more stuff for me to show you wrong in. Keep them coming.
@tapper45 "when the police, the hunting lodge and former members of the aus olympic pistol team tell me they are outlawed i tend to believe them."
Yup - you cant just wank into Walmart sporting section and buy them, but that doesnt make them illegal. You need a firearms license, and a permit to acquire, etc. Its all laid down in a wiki article even. "Gun politics in Australia". So yes, its illegal for a tourist to come into the country and buy firearms- that doesnt mean ownership is illegal
Guns in general may be illegal in some countries but they are certainly not in Australia. Shotguns, rifles, handguns are all perfectly permissible though you do need a permit or licence which is usually issued by the State you live in.
What you are probably thinking about is fully automatic weapons which were generally banned after a massacre in Port Arthur, Tasmania.
That did cause the Australian Olympic team some difficulty.
@patrickcorliss If you are interested, send me a PM - I could probably direct you to a few resources for this hobby. There is a lot of information around and it can be hard to sort through, because it's not really to the "plug and play" level yet, but its not too difficult or expensive to get one of these up and flying. In general, the term UAV seems to be used when the planes are using waypoints, while FPV is a more common term if its being manually controlled it seems
thanks for the update.it's always better to get the info from someone on the ground in the particular location.
evedently i was misinformed by the people i met and trained with when i was there during my 2009 r&r in Sydney.
the u.s. police are also guilty of mis-informing our public so i guess i shouldn't be surprised but i figured the hunting guides who are at the mercy of the law would have had better info.
Sorry, Tapper. I meant semi-automatic weapons like the AR-15 rifle.
"AR-15 rifles, like all semi-automatic rifles, are banned from legal ownership in all states and territories in Australia. The ban on semi-automatic rifles was introduced in 1996 in response to the Port Arthur massacre, in which 35 people were killed. One of the weapons used in the attack was an AR-15."
@tapper45 "in america, where guns are legal, it is proven time and time again with cold, hard, un-biased statistics that the possible presence of firearms deters crime."
Guns are legal in Australia... Perhaps you should have read a little more :-) Just they must be registered here. There are however certain classes of firearm which are not legal.
Really - is there anything else you'd like me to demonstrate you wrong in?
@ferrett78 according to your logic: you said that the rc plane was cheaper than an ultralite.. that makes me not smart. before i made my 1st post. then when i said "no shit it is cheaper" agreeing with you, it makes me not smart. so, agreeing with you makes me not smart. i'll agree with that. anxious? just to be fucking with you. let me guess, you never served in your country's military. that makes you, as i said before, irrelevant. start contributing to something worthwile slacker.
@patrickcorliss I agree, though Im somewhat of an optimist and try to give people a chance... The comment format often leads to misunderstandings, so I usually persist with trying to be reasonable for awhile...
As for this video, those planes are dirt cheap (like $70ish) and the camera equipment relatively inexpensive too. The views arent true 3D yet, though I have seen the first twin-camera setups for FPV that should allow proper 3D views soon (if not already)
Simply mindblowing.. I was trying to think of tackling this head tracking with some kind of infrared dot detection or even a shoulder harnes, but.. a headinglock gyro, thats simply brilliant!
Are there schematics or something like that to start reproducing this marvel of POV flying? a build site perhaps?
I'd love to see more videos from this plane. Besides i know this video is pretty old so camera technologies have gotten better since then so it could maybe have a better camera on board. I'd love to see it fly at a much lower altitude. Flying a few meters high, speeding past trees, following passing cars, etc.
hello what a wonderful images have you got!i would know if you could give me more details about your project!like a equipment used, places where i can find and the prices of them!

UAV stands for Unmanned aerial vehicle (or sometimes unmanned air-reconnaissance vehicle)is an unpiloted aircraft. UAVs can be remote controlled or fly autonomously based on pre-programmed flight plans or more complex dynamic automation systems.

i'm so sorry i didn't look to see what country you were from before i spouted off about the laws IN MY COUNTRY!!!
FUCK YOU!!!
youtube is for americans, get off it and stay off it.
aren't you aussies responsible for giving up your rights to own firearms too?
i can guarantee you that i don't give a shit about other country's regulations.
ultralite is a legal term and means "not aircraft" and does not require a license.
it doesn't mean airplane that weighs "less".

@tapper45 "youtube is for americans, get off it and stay off it."
Yet you are commenting on a video made by a Canadian. Lol
"i can guarantee you that i don't give a shit about other country's regulations."
Yet you say that only AFTER commenting on another country's gun regulations, which you also clearly havent read...
You obviously didnt take my advice on thinking before commenting, did you? ;-)

I DON'T CARE!!!
yay! i knew that would get a rise out of you.
i don't care if it is canadian.
i fly my ultraliteS and my rc plane/helicopters and i shoot my guns.
ALL of which are legal here and require no licensing.
complain within your own country about your fucked up laws, no one here cares.
we have enough fucked up laws of our own.
tapper45 1 year ago
@tapper45 Were you planning on adding something relevant any time soon?
HINT: 'Guns' is not a relevant topic in a video regarding FPV RC flying.
Needless to say, my original point that it is not cheaper to buy and fly an ultralite, still stands.
PS: Compare the gun crime rate per person in your country to mine, then come back and tell me how awesome not licensing guns is ;-)

This unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is not particularly exciting, I would have thought. What is interesting is the remote camera.
The difference between looking out of a window and looking aty a television screen is that the first picture is in 3D. That sounds obvious.
But you really notice it when you move your head. This camera is aligned to head movements and thus gives a truer 3D representation.
Installing it in a UAV is only one of many things you could do.

As soon as this arsehole said "YouTube is for Americans" you should've realized he's a troll and drppoed the conversation.

Ignore him and talk about the remote controlled camera.
