@pryzmcat I agree for most. I would like to say the man is stronger and represents the spiritual, the female thopugh, represents the emoyional and the earth. Two but in one. Females are more emotional, while males think with their minds. Males are more spiritual., Oonly if they chouse to be.
This piece has always raised my vibrational rate. May we all oscillate together higher and higher creating more love and more light until we quiver past flesh, past earth, all the way back to Source.
@sheavepin... Jesus was an Avatar, ALL avatars come with one mission: that of reforming and dismantling harmfull twisted dogmas, any dogma, any time and any place. Please, remember that All avatars ARE part of the godhead, and respect them accordingly
I think it is pointless to scream "I am not a Satanist!". By screaming this you are implying that it is actually wrong to be a Satanist and that you are basically saying "Well, I'm not like those people". This makes you no different than the intolerant Christian. For the record, I am a Witch who practices the Theodisc Gelafa so I am on your side. Also, just imagine if someone screamed "I'm not Gay!". The first reaction would be to say "Yep. That person is gay!". Are you a Satanist?
Very nice! A number of Loreena McKennit's performances - this one included - do seem to open a door to the Otherworld for a receptive soul. The photography here helps too :-) . Thanks for the post.
@wolfbrother0 From a Pagan to a Christian I thank you very much for having such an open and enlightened way of thinking. I think that everyone should learn to respect each others beliefs and when we can leave religion alone from political and social issues things would be alot better and a lot less wars fought. and I respect Christians.
im tired of the people of faith forsakeing us all and trying to tell us what we can and cant do. this is comeing from the only wiccan in a christian family.
im new to the wiccan religion (from christianity of all things) and i can't wait for the next sabbat (Beltane) so i can REALLY get started be offical. i wonder what my dad will think....hmm maybe ill celebrate somewhere else oh well. i love the music ive listened to since becoming wiccan. thank the Goddesses and the Gods and Blessed Be! )o(
@myheartismadeofstars you know what's weird I was the same way. Came over from Christianity. I still harbor some of the rules that keep me a nice human being but I think this is WAY more my calling.
The Goddess is a separate entity, like a woman is, but She needs her consort to become the Mother entity otherwise the Three wouldn't function. I definitely honour the Goddess more than the God but I know you can't have one without the other. They're separate but they're one. Like the leaves and fruits on a tree.
I'm throwing a party on Yule this year, ostensibly it's for my birthday but for me, it's in honour of the Goddess, and her consort, and life in general.
@SilaVendethiel I'm sorry this is a little old, but i had to say something. I just signed up for youtube and found this awesome song and found you comment a little disturbing. The God is not the Consort of the Goddess, he is her equal and Husband. He is never lower or higher. They are the same. Two Trees helping eachother fruit, not the fruit and the tress. becasue that implise supremicy. They are and will always be equal lovers. Never a Consort or anything else. I hope you understand that. BB
@Jennie82873 I'm sorry if you misunderstood, maybe I worded my comment poorly. What I meant to say was that I do completely appreciate the equality and balance of the God and Goddess, but my own personal faith is focussed more on the Female aspect than the Male. Blessed be, and again sorry if I caused misunderstanding :)
I do concur. Without the God, most common wiccan holidays, such as samhain, could not exist. Well im not here to debate, just to enjoy this beautiful song. Blessed be, my brothers and sisters.
i agree 100% the goddess is incomplete without her consort and he has been seperated from her in too many religions that he has seemed cold and unloving. the universe dances in tune with their union
I just wanted to remind everyone that please, I love the Goddess to, but don't forget about the God, without him there is no balance in the universe. There is no Goddess without the God. Our Mother and our Father, The Lord And Lady. Give them equal respect and you will feel even more at balance. Blessed be Brothers and Sisters of mother earth.
Yes XaleTorren, This song would be a religious song for Wiccans/Pagans. But not all of us here are such, as you can see. Nor do you have to be to enjoy it :)
I agree, just as nomoreyou1212 does! There MUST be balance : ) Without balance... Well, it's not good. The universe we live in is a balance between good and evil, fire water earth air and spirit, male and female; hence our God and Goddess; our mother and father, as you so aptly put it : )
We cannot as Wiccans say that you have to work with the God, that is what makes Wicca great is that if you don't feel you need the God or hell the God just isn't for you, you have the Goddess and can call on her in her own right without having to deal with the God.
I have to strongly disagree. Wicca depends upon the balance of masculine and feminine. You may honor the Goddess alone, without the God, if you wish. But you then cease to be truly Wiccan. You certainly remain Pagan, but Wiccan? No. You are free to practice any form of spirituality you can conceive of, but when you cross certain lines, it is outside the realm of Wicca.
i agree with hoolet2009 100% because the God is still there you can exclude him you have to include him you want to be a true wiccan that is just what our faith is about. Its aboust the male and female side of everything. So may the God and the Goddess be with you all )0(,
Goddess is a complete being in her own right .We as humans place everything categories and separate things and define things so that we may understand, not the divine. I work with Goddess alone, not because I think that the God doesn't exist but I feel that Goddess is enough. There are Goddess and Gods of everything thus we can chose to worship in any way that we see fit. We Are Wiccans, why are we even debating this. We are all about unity.
@FreakO5654 I totally agree, nothing irritates me more. I have been following a celtic path ( I do not usually refer to myself as Wiccan because I practice more prechristian irish paganism) and it makes me sad when everyone always places so much influence on the female energies. I truely believe they talk and focus so much on it, they are far from balanced.
@FreakO5654 what about dianic wiccans? If you devote most of your life to a male god, i think its alright to devote the rest of it to the goddess, dont you?
@FreakO5654 Thank you SO much for saying this. I feel as if the God is certainly not given the respect and acknowledgement that he deserves. I mean, that's not to say that groups such as Dianic Wiccans should not believe how they do, but for those whose traditions do acknowledge Him, please do not forget Him.
I'm a Christen and I hate the fact that the church (in general not always) destroys every thing that does not submit instead of learning form it like I try to do. I respect pagans
@wolfbrother0 That's amazing. I am used to being shunned or battered verbally by christians. :) I will be more open minded now! You're a beautiful person :D
@wolfbrother0 you do unserstand that church follows the bible right? so, according to the bible all those who practice sorcery will burn.its not a social organization it's a religion. they cannot evolve; but then again maybe everyone's wrong and there is nothing....who knows?
@CorvusCorpseater I don't know what that is about, are you with out sin? would you Thro the stone? I don't know where you got that "evolve" from I sed nothing about it just learning insted Killing them off and historicaly it did happened.
@wolfbrother0 thank you, I find it amazing how much Paganism and Christianity have in common yet we are still even after all these years arguing with one another over the past. What has happened has happened we need to learn from our mistakes and understand each other. I myself was raised Christian so I have total respect for Christians, but now I am Wiccan. While I was reading the books I have, I was surprised just how much is the same in Christianity and Paganism.
@wolfbrother0 You sir, are beautiful. You are an inspiration to humanity and show the promise of how even the Christian community can Love humanity, including the ones who do not do as they preach. There is hope. We are growing every day. And so, most beautiful soul, I thank you.
@wolfbrother0 I am the most Catholic Catholic you will find, but I respect paganism, and I am very interested in Asatru, I really love that religion, and my priest agrees!
@greenman92553 are who are you, that statement was made a long time ago and I have had time to make refined. I say church because at the heart the faith and church are diferent, The church can do some thing wrong and that has nothing to do with the Christian church. The church in history has forgoten Jesus's words "let he who is without sin throw the first stone"(I am not sure I have the word exactly right, but close enogh). I belive in Christ, I also hate to be told to do something becase I
@greenman92553 SAY SO. that just makes not want to lisen. That point is that Just because I am a Christian doe not mean that I am going to go saying your all are going to hell, that is wrong if someone want to come we welcome them but you can't use force. Guya Read Princess Wands By John Ringo and the main caracter a the Good Christian
@wolfbrother0 A good christian is supposed to be a soldier of the LORD. This means that he/she sould combat anything that is not in tune with the christian teachings. This includes killing those who do not adapt to the WORD.
Who are you to say that people like St Bernard, Torquemada, Columbus, and all famous Christians throut history were not good christians. Look and respect your peers and learn to kill for your faith!
@greenman92553 Now who is talking about murder, Thou shall not kill is a conmandment, and that is not something to ignore when it is convenvent for you. Now you Brother on the other hand sound like you have wandered from his teachings.
@greenman92553 Martin Luther was a f***ing A*****. Period. Read his writings. Sickening. Why any women would listen to his tripe is beyond me. Absolutely revolting. I don't remember Jesus saying anything about picking up a sword. Combat over religion is the ultimate stupidity.
@GirlAtHomeRightNow Watch a little of that sickening 700 club, and then turn on the news and watch some equally sickening mullahs. Thou shalt have thy answer..... One of the things I MOST cherish about being a Wiccan, is that I am my own priest. While others may know more of the craft than I, they know nothing more about the God and Goddess than I. Nor does the Pope, Pat Robertson, the Dalai LLama or an Atheist for that matter.
sorry to but in to conversation that was over a month ago, the reason people fight over religion is because they dont know how to accept it and the fear what they dont know it really is terrible and not very mature either
@wolfbrother0 I love you, May your light shine bright and your example be learned from by all we are all children of the earth No matter our faith. thank you for being you
@Vannydril I agree with you! It is wonderful to see that some Christians can pay us the same respect, that they recieve from most of us! After all paganism was here long before Christianity became controlled by government. We all use to live together and help one another, in peace and harmony, fore we all had the same goals: To be good to everyone and every living thing> To harm no one! That is my desire! Blessed Be!
@wolfbrother0 Your beautiful attitude is a gift to all humanity. We all belong to One Divine Reality! All of us are walking the same path to Divine Being. We just call it by different names. Peace to all my brothers and sisters, all of us children of the first mother and father, some call Adam and Eve.
@peaceiloveyou2 O I belive there only one God and One way to Heaven Don't get me wrong. I just do not belive it is right to condem anyone because they do not belive in the faith that you do. You can't force some one to belive some thing nor should you.
@peaceiloveyou2 I respect Pagans for the person not the faith. A Christen bashing a Pagan or a Pagan bashing a Christen is wrong no matter how you look at it.
I am a Christen I belive what I belive You belive what You belive, like I said read Princess of wands and you will see what I am. I won't condem you but if you ask I'll tell.
@wolfbrother0 we , the pagans. we find our religion much more powerful from church...
anyway if i would be christian i would be heretical , as orthodox and catholics papes are lazy freaks who tell all time these about evil to take people with their way. So thats why i tell :)
I was born a Baptist Christan...and I never unstood why "God" was so cruel to a Sinner, so in 7th grade I started looking around for something else. Wiccan jumped out at me and eversince Ive been so happy. I love My Goddess )O(
I love Winter Solstice as well. My church is UU so we celebrate many holidays as people wish to; Channukah, Christmas, Kwanza, Easter, Solstice and the Winter is my favorite because we have a service at night and we light a cauldron and dance and eat. It's really fun and my holidays would be incomplete without it.
I've tried to search for God in 5th grade, but I could never find a connection with him or find him. So I stopped religion and just last year I found the Goddess. I feel so at peace with Gaia. )0( Blessed be )0(
@Gl0wst1ckDr3ams I won't petend to know why you think "God" was so cruel to a Sinner" because anyone who even read the bible would know that is unture. If you have any interest I would like to hear what made you think that. :)
this song fills me with peace, I feel a yearning for wicca, baptised catholic and raised catholic, used to practice wicca, where does my spirtitual calling lie?
If Wicca is calling you, you should go to it. Everything has a reason to do what it does. And if the Goddess calls, you should follow; it might be good for you.
if someone cpuld cut out the vocals and just have instrumentals then this song would b perfect for both guys and girls well at least str8 guys..lol buut yea no vocals would b better does anyone have it?
wiccans believe in the godess and the god that my friend is the energy we tap from.and since i became a wiccan i have never felt a peace like it.and i used to be a born again christian so i know the energy you tap from but it does not work for me.cerridwen
my family raised me catholic, but since 5th grade i've been teaching myself Witchcraft and studing Paganism. most of my family knows lol, not all but most.
Now you're also trying to tell us what to believe, the fact that you don't believe anything doesn't mean we all should. I get very annoid of ppl that doesn't respect other religions, I'm wiccan so let me live my life, and i don't care if you're atheïst, christian, or whatever. And you show respect for ppl who have another way of life than you.
AOPrinciple I commend you for your endurance, are you a priest? I think if you are to convert us you still need to find the middle-ground between our two religions so we can understand you and vise versa. After all, I actually looked up Christ and found no explanations for the universe or the divine or death, but Wicca does do this. So again, I think I will stick to my religion and when you can tell me something profoundly life altering to change that, then we will see.
also, because i thought it was funny, one of your comments likened me to thinking that 2+2=7 and stuff. your religion is more like god+god=anything and everything. Wicca is more like (simplified) Earth+Air+Fire+Water=perfect balance expressed as Spirit, or God as you call it. Of course there are many different ways to explain it, each unique; I just wanted to show the supidity of your logic.
Did you look at Him in the gospels? If you did, it is important to realize that Jesus was speaking to a Jewish audience, who would have already understood basic things about the universe, the nature of God, etc... and so He would have had no need to beat a dead horse, so to speak. However, the Bible as a whole does talk about these issues that you refered to. Perhaps you can tell me more specifically what you would like to see, and I can direct you. What do you mean by god+god= everything?
I don't understand that. This Spirit that you are talking about, to fit my description or belief of God has to be very specific. In other words, it has to be compatible with traditional theism. Otherwise, we are definitely not talking about the same thing. Regardless of terms, we do have very different worldviews, and that much is clear to the both of us, I think. If you could explain what you understand my beliefs to be, I would be in a much better position to respond meaningfully.
Unfortunately I know very little about the answers to the questions I have that Christianity provides. My search told me that Christians believe no matter I do or who I am, I am a sinner, and I tend to disagree. But of course if you explain why I should consider myself a sinner then I won't have such a hard time understanding
It is important to understand what Christians mean when we say that you are a sinner. A sin is anything that violates the character of God. God created us in His image, or likeness, and therefore are supposed to reflect His character. God is truthful, so lieing is a sin. We commit sins all the time. It is that simple. You sin; you are a sinner.
Because God is holy and just, He can never dwell with unholiness or sin. Because of our sin we deserve to be condemned.
However, God loves us and stepped in on our behalf. Jesus was God in human form who took our condemnation by dying in our place on the cross. Because of that, if you accept His sacrifice, you can have peace with God and enjoy fellowship with Him. Because you are "clothed" with the righteousness of Jesus Christ, you are free to dwell with God forever in heaven. That is the gospel.
I was a sinner in the same way that everyone else is. I accepted Jesus' death for me and have...
Well, I commend you for your honesty and wilingness to seek the truth. I am not a priest, but I do take quite an interest in matters of values, ethics, and religion because they are worth thinking about and, in my opinion, the most important things to think about.
You are right about the need to build a bridge so that both sides can talk on the same level and understand what the other is trying to say. I will have to think of a way to do that. Did you look up Christ in the BIble? If so...
I don't mean to sound overly offensive, but your ignorance is evident. Bart Erhman, the leading textual critic today, believes hat Jesus existed. He does use the Bible, by the way. I'm not sure why you don't. The energy that Wiccans tap into and prayer are not the same thing. You probably can't even define what that energy is. You don't have any support for your worldview. It sounds like you just believe this because you want to.
First off. your God is young compared to any God or Goddess, so for you to say that we know not the energy we use. We use the energy of life the energy that is part of everything, my ancestors on the great plains of Africa and the stone circles of Europe have used for thousands of years before the Jews and the Christian Christ. Before you step into the ring with Wicca or any pagan group please, leave us be. We leave you alone leave us alone.
I think you are confused about what is important in this conversation. Many ancient beliefs about a variety of issues were wrong; antiquity does not determine validity. And I am not admitting that your religion is older than mine, it just isn't relevant. We are talking about the differences in worldviews. The polythiesm that you embrace cannot account for life as we know it. There is no foundation for logic, morality, love, and is generally philosophically indefensible. I don't mean that...
Well to say that our religion is older than Christianity, in my opinion, is incorrect. Wicca, as i see it, is fragments of the true Old Religion, which is older than Christianity, but Wicca itself is younger.
...to sound overly harsh, but that is the truth. I would like to hear your comments and discuss your response. Issues of ethics, values and religion are the most important to think about in life, so I really do look forward to talking about this.
No, Jesus is not based on Horus. The connections are blown out of proportion. Even if I thought He was, to not believe the account just because of that would be to commit the genetic fallacy. the origin of a belief says nothing about the belief itself. It still may well be true. And, in Jesus' case, there is evidence. I don't think there is any evidence for Horus coming to earth.
So you make fun of me for saying that Horus is an deception, an then turn around and say that all religion is deception? I really don't understand. A religion is imply a set of beliefs that attempts to explain the world. To say that you don't like religion would mean that you don't believe anything. Obviously, that isn't true. You have your own religion. You are going to have to explain why you don't think religion is the "path to God." I think we should see what God says about coming to Him.
A...very boring troll? I don't think you understand Christianity. What do you know about what Christians believe that you don't think I know?
Can you fathom the complexities of the universe? You have totally lost me. You didn't respond to any of my points. Instead you are babbling on about me being a troll and how you are able to fathom the complexities of the universe. And I don't know what I really believe. make some sense, form some arguments or we're done here.
hahaha, try finding Scripture for THAT. The Bible says that Jesus was human, not the sun. He was God on earth. You simply do not know what you are talking about when you say that the BIble was mistranslated. Learn Greek, look at it for yourself, and then tell me it was mistranslated. What evidence could you possibly have that the Romans had anything to do with this?
Yes, Horus is a deception of Satan. IF you have proof that Horus actually existed then, by all means, defend him.
Do you care to back that up with any Scripture? And how could I be judged in heaven if I am covered by Christ. First of all, there will be no judgment in heavenfor believers. The fact that we are in heaven proves that. Second, Romans 8:1- "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Evil is a word. it can be manipulated. just like symbols. and who is the main manipulator in your religion the devil. the pentagram and cross have only one thing in common. that satanic bunch that you accuse us to be use the cross upside down in the same way that they use our pentagram. so look at your source with an open mind and open heart. and you will see I'm true to my word. if god hated this religion as so then he would have destroyed it long ago.
point was that you christian say love and be peaceful but you want to acttack a family that has been peaceful over the ages of time. I for one am tired of seeing all the hate as of this type i think it is about time that OUR FAMILY will forget that of the new and show the world what wicca truely is and not have to deal with the negitives. the last thing i have to say though is that because of people like you my friend AOPrinciple we have to hide some times. so just remeber one thing.
Your Christianity was started for peace on the world. here is the funny part your religion stole most there sayings from us. why. because they are hypocrites jealous of a religion that generates true peace by accepting every one for who they are. and you can quit praying for me for he know what i am doing. for he sent me.
right on DJMalleck! stand up against the oppression and hate of individual spirituality. since it is "sinful" to burn and drown us all they have left is a few feeble arguements passed down from a bygone era, i suppose it's not harmful but damn they annoy. AOPrick do not respond you are not welcome amongst wiccans, witches, pagans, shamans and similars for believing that our faith is weak enough to convert us. shame on you.
Yes, shame on me for spreading the truth. Is what you see me doing full of hate and oppression? Isn't it you who hates me? If you refuse to look at what I am saying and consider my claim as I have clearly considered yours then this conversation is pointless.
Again I repeat: shame on you for believing that our faith is weaker than yours. you keep on commenting on OUR religions as though you consider yourself an expert. But the truth is, as I am a Wiccan, you are wrong on ALL accounts about what we believe because you made assumptions about paganism. I also have made no conjecture on Christianity as you say I have, I was merely speaking theosophically, but you ignored the points I made. I suggest you research wicca for starters, then argue.
If it makes you feel better about reading heretical religions like mine, then I will read about christ and such ok? Also I am a wiccan, a man of wicca, I hate you only as much as you hate me. So if you "love" us as you say you do then try to look at theology from our perspective first:)
conflicting claims of truth. Before I am even explaining why I think I am right I have been correcting misconceptions about what I believe. If I have misconceptions about what you believe then tell me, don't tell me that I should be ashamed of myself for preying on someone "weaker" than myself in some way. I do know that Wicca is some form of polytheism. That is explicitly denounced in the Bible and by Jesus. I have simply been making that fact known. I have barely said anything about Wicca.
first of all i got in to this for one reason jesus did for all of us ever body's sin wether it be your version of sin or mine. second and most of all he died for every one in which is a symbolism of oneness as in being peaceful with every one i do not go against god i just use the gifts he has given me. and dont say what i have is from the devil because who made him god. and the only way the devil can give any kind of power is IF GOD SAYS IT OK!!!! I do not mean to offened any christian my main
Those comments weren't directed at you; they were meant for DjMalleck.
What do you mean by I think your faith is weaker than mine? That I think you believe your views less than I believe mine? I don't think that. People can be sincerely wrong. That is often the case. I do think, though, that I am right and you are wrong. I you believed that 2+2=7 and I told you that you were wrong, would you say that I should be ashamed of myself? In essence that is what is going on here. We have...
What fellowship can there be between light and darkness." There cannot be peace between truth and lies. I don't have to have this conversation. I care enough about you to tell you the truth. Jesus hates Wicca, Islam, Buddism, and any other religion that perverts and twists the truth. He came to take sin for you so that you could be at peace with God, your sin being atoned for. Learn what Christianity is about before you bash it and comment on it like an expert.
you want to know something AOPrinciple for one thing its people like you that have drove me to find my true roots. My true roots are of the Salem witches at least it was a good thing that my ancestors did not let them kill our blood line. for all our life we've been persecuted for no reason when all we did was what Jesus wanted you AOPrinciple to do Go through out life with an open heart and open mind.
By that I mean that Christians have a responsibility to discern right from wrong. If you deny that then you deny that there actually are right vs wrong actions. "Shall we now sin that grace may abound? By no means..." (Romans 6:1).
I can confidently tell you that Jesus would not approve of being a witch. In John 14:6 Jesus says "I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the father buth by me." If you disagree with that then you disagree with Jesus, not me...
You are still fully subject to God's condemnation unless you come to Jesus alone to have your sins forgiven. In the hundreds of years before Jesus came, God called the nation of Israel to be set apart from the neighboring nations, who practiced pagan religions. When Jesus came He said in the Sermon on the Mount that He had not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. Jesus abhored pagan religions because they perverted worship of the true God. Witchcraft is of the very essence of paganism.
Christiainity as the truth. That was probably more than you were looking for, and there is just to much to be discussed on youtube blogs, but that is a very brief overview of teh evidence for theism and, in particular, Christianity. I didn't provide much evidence agaist pagan beliefs aside from the arguments for a single God because I didn't have anything specific to talk about. there it is in a nutshell. I hope you find it useful.
AOPrinciple shut the fuck up. why are you stupid extremist-christians always trying to eliminate us wiccans in plain view? did you not fuck over our religion the first couple of times? also god doesnt have to have an obvious reason for Him to logically exist. in absolutly every natural occurance on earth there are pairs: man and woman, earth and air, water and fire, god AND godess. since "we are made in god's image" one would think that god's realm is also a reflection of ours...
...back in the comments and see what I originally commented to Evalsrewop. If you have questions about Christianity feel free to send me a message. I would be happy to answer them and discuss religion(s) with you.
second off our religion is more similar to yours If you look in your so call word of god then you will see that all it talks about is being peaceful and loving mainly. that is what our religion is about. being a Wicca is way different then being involved in witchcraft. i have a 50 some year old Wicca that has told me that. but also witchcraft is totally different from satanism.
I don't really care if there is more to Wicca than witchcraft. Witchcraft is an integral part and that is explicitly spoken against in the Bible.
Hear this: Christianity is not abut peace on the world; it is about peace between man and God. In fact, the very opposite of what you claim is true. In Matthew 10:34 Jesus says "I have not come to bring peace, but the sword." It doesn't get any clearer. In 2 Cor. Paul says "What partnership can there be between righteousness and lawlessness...
thus, it stands to reason that if we are MADE to have sex, question authority when He doesnt tell us why we shouldnt eat the fucking apple, and kill for survival; then so does god. I also think it is SO immoral to take your lessons on moral living from a book writing in the context of an era long gone especially when it is now proven that our modern bible is missing key texts not to mention we now know how easily people have revised it like the King James revised Bible.
AOPrinciple I have to say a few thing i am not christian and know what jesus wants. you do not need to wave the bible around over your head and judge. I am more like jesus for i do not judge people and i associate with them but you know the cool thing is you should do like he did and you will learn that all he did was learn how to care and not be judgemental towards those of us. I was saved back in one day and jesus show'd me something.
Well, that is interesting. You misquote Jesus when you say that you don't judge. Jesus is very much in favor of judging. In fact, I Peter 4:5, II Timothy 4:1, and Acts 10:42 say that Jesus is the judge of both the living and the dead. Jesus said that He did not come to condemn, but to save. He came to tak the price for sin, but the fact is that there was indeed a price to pay; there was judgment and wrath that had to be satisfied. Those who follow Christ have a responsibility to judge...

@wolfbrother0 From a Pagan to a Christian I thank you very much for having such an open and enlightened way of thinking.
Blessed be everyone! xox

I hope you understand that. s81710 2 years ago
I agree, just as nomoreyou1212 does! There MUST be balance : ) Without balance... Well, it's not good. The universe we live in is a balance between good and evil, fire water earth air and spirit, male and female; hence our God and Goddess; our mother and father, as you so aptly put it : )
: )
GeneOpera 2 years ago 3
We cannot as Wiccans say that you have to work with the God, that is what makes Wicca great is that if you don't feel you need the God or hell the God just isn't for you, you have the Goddess and can call on her in her own right without having to deal with the God.
jdrlva2006 2 years ago
Well its the same for any pagan, really. But it is the charm of following... an alternative path shall i say? well its one of the peaks anyway.
amateras11 2 years ago 2
I have to strongly disagree. Wicca depends upon the balance of masculine and feminine. You may honor the Goddess alone, without the God, if you wish. But you then cease to be truly Wiccan. You certainly remain Pagan, but Wiccan? No. You are free to practice any form of spirituality you can conceive of, but when you cross certain lines, it is outside the realm of Wicca.

i agree with hoolet2009 100% because the God is still there you can exclude him you have to include him you want to be a true wiccan that is just what our faith is about. Its aboust the male and female side of everything. So may the God and the Goddess be with you all )0(,
Roethlisberger1 2 years ago 4
Goddess is a complete being in her own right .We as humans place everything categories and separate things and define things so that we may understand, not the divine. I work with Goddess alone, not because I think that the God doesn't exist but I feel that Goddess is enough. There are Goddess and Gods of everything thus we can chose to worship in any way that we see fit. We Are Wiccans, why are we even debating this. We are all about unity.
jdrlva2006 2 years ago
@FreakO5654 I totally agree, nothing irritates me more. I have been following a celtic path ( I do not usually refer to myself as Wiccan because I practice more prechristian irish paganism) and it makes me sad when everyone always places so much influence on the female energies. I truely believe they talk and focus so much on it, they are far from balanced.

AOPrinciple 2 years ago
AOPrinciple I commend you for your endurance, are you a priest? I think if you are to convert us you still need to find the middle-ground between our two religions so we can understand you and vise versa. After all, I actually looked up Christ and found no explanations for the universe or the divine or death, but Wicca does do this. So again, I think I will stick to my religion and when you can tell me something profoundly life altering to change that, then we will see.
Jumpclimbroll 2 years ago 2
also, because i thought it was funny, one of your comments likened me to thinking that 2+2=7 and stuff. your religion is more like god+god=anything and everything. Wicca is more like (simplified) Earth+Air+Fire+Water=perfect balance expressed as Spirit, or God as you call it. Of course there are many different ways to explain it, each unique; I just wanted to show the supidity of your logic.
Jumpclimbroll 2 years ago
2
Did you look at Him in the gospels? If you did, it is important to realize that Jesus was speaking to a Jewish audience, who would have already understood basic things about the universe, the nature of God, etc... and so He would have had no need to beat a dead horse, so to speak. However, the Bible as a whole does talk about these issues that you refered to. Perhaps you can tell me more specifically what you would like to see, and I can direct you. What do you mean by god+god= everything?
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
3
I don't understand that. This Spirit that you are talking about, to fit my description or belief of God has to be very specific. In other words, it has to be compatible with traditional theism. Otherwise, we are definitely not talking about the same thing. Regardless of terms, we do have very different worldviews, and that much is clear to the both of us, I think. If you could explain what you understand my beliefs to be, I would be in a much better position to respond meaningfully.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
Unfortunately I know very little about the answers to the questions I have that Christianity provides. My search told me that Christians believe no matter I do or who I am, I am a sinner, and I tend to disagree. But of course if you explain why I should consider myself a sinner then I won't have such a hard time understanding
Jumpclimbroll 2 years ago
It is important to understand what Christians mean when we say that you are a sinner. A sin is anything that violates the character of God. God created us in His image, or likeness, and therefore are supposed to reflect His character. God is truthful, so lieing is a sin. We commit sins all the time. It is that simple. You sin; you are a sinner.
Because God is holy and just, He can never dwell with unholiness or sin. Because of our sin we deserve to be condemned.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago

If so...
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
I don't mean to sound overly offensive, but your ignorance is evident. Bart Erhman, the leading textual critic today, believes hat Jesus existed. He does use the Bible, by the way. I'm not sure why you don't. The energy that Wiccans tap into and prayer are not the same thing. You probably can't even define what that energy is. You don't have any support for your worldview. It sounds like you just believe this because you want to.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
First off. your God is young compared to any God or Goddess, so for you to say that we know not the energy we use. We use the energy of life the energy that is part of everything, my ancestors on the great plains of Africa and the stone circles of Europe have used for thousands of years before the Jews and the Christian Christ. Before you step into the ring with Wicca or any pagan group please, leave us be. We leave you alone leave us alone.
jdrlva2006 2 years ago 4
1
I think you are confused about what is important in this conversation. Many ancient beliefs about a variety of issues were wrong; antiquity does not determine validity. And I am not admitting that your religion is older than mine, it just isn't relevant. We are talking about the differences in worldviews. The polythiesm that you embrace cannot account for life as we know it. There is no foundation for logic, morality, love, and is generally philosophically indefensible. I don't mean that...
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
Well to say that our religion is older than Christianity, in my opinion, is incorrect. Wicca, as i see it, is fragments of the true Old Religion, which is older than Christianity, but Wicca itself is younger.

What do you mean? WHat is the Old Religion?

...to sound overly harsh, but that is the truth.

AOPrinciple 2 years ago
So you make fun of me for saying that Horus is an deception, an then turn around and say that all religion is deception? I really don't understand. A religion is imply a set of beliefs that attempts to explain the world. To say that you don't like religion would mean that you don't believe anything. Obviously, that isn't true. You have your own religion. You are going to have to explain why you don't think religion is the "path to God." I think we should see what God says about coming to Him.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
A...very boring troll? I don't think you understand Christianity. What do you know about what Christians believe that you don't think I know?
Can you fathom the complexities of the universe? You have totally lost me. You didn't respond to any of my points. Instead you are babbling on about me being a troll and how you are able to fathom the complexities of the universe. And I don't know what I really believe. make some sense, form some arguments or we're done here.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
hahaha, try finding Scripture for THAT.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago

DjMalleck 2 years ago
Your Christianity was started for peace on the world. here is the funny part your religion stole most there sayings from us. why. because they are hypocrites jealous of a religion that generates true peace by accepting every one for who they are. and you can quit praying for me for he know what i am doing. for he sent me.
DjMalleck 2 years ago
right on DJMalleck! stand up against the oppression and hate of individual spirituality. since it is "sinful" to burn and drown us all they have left is a few feeble arguements passed down from a bygone era, i suppose it's not harmful but damn they annoy. AOPrick do not respond you are not welcome amongst wiccans, witches, pagans, shamans and similars for believing that our faith is weak enough to convert us. shame on you.
Jumpclimbroll 2 years ago
Yes, shame on me for spreading the truth. Is what you see me doing full of hate and oppression? Isn't it you who hates me? If you refuse to look at what I am saying and consider my claim as I have clearly considered yours then this conversation is pointless.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
Again I repeat: shame on you for believing that our faith is weaker than yours. you keep on commenting on OUR religions as though you consider yourself an expert. But the truth is, as I am a Wiccan, you are wrong on ALL accounts about what we believe because you made assumptions about paganism. I also have made no conjecture on Christianity as you say I have, I was merely speaking theosophically, but you ignored the points I made. I suggest you research wicca for starters, then argue.
Jumpclimbroll 2 years ago
If it makes you feel better about reading heretical religions like mine, then I will read about christ and such ok? Also I am a wiccan, a man of wicca, I hate you only as much as you hate me. So if you "love" us as you say you do then try to look at theology from our perspective first:)
Jumpclimbroll 2 years ago
conflicting claims of truth.
AOPrinciple 2 years ago
first of all i got in to this for one reason jesus did for all of us ever body's sin wether it be your version of sin or mine. second and most of all he died for every one in which is a symbolism of oneness as in being peaceful with every one i do not go against god i just use the gifts he has given me. and dont say what i have is from the devil because who made him god. and the only way the devil can give any kind of power is IF GOD SAYS IT OK!!!!

DjMalleck 2 years ago
By that I mean that Christians have a responsibility to discern right from wrong. If you deny that then you deny that there actually are right vs wrong actions. "Shall we now sin that grace may abound? By no means..." (Romans 6:1).
I can confidently tell you that Jesus would not approve of being a witch. In John 14:6 Jesus says "I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the father buth by me." If you disagree with that then you disagree with Jesus, not me...
AOPrinciple 2 years ago

AOPrinciple 2 years ago
AOPrinciple shut the fuck up. why are you stupid extremist-christians always trying to eliminate us wiccans in plain view? did you not fuck over our religion the first couple of times? also god doesnt have to have an obvious reason for Him to logically exist. in absolutly every natural occurance on earth there are pairs: man and woman, earth and air, water and fire, god AND godess. since "we are made in god's image" one would think that god's realm is also a reflection of ours...

AOPrinciple 2 years ago
second off our religion is more similar to yours If you look in your so call word of god then you will see that all it talks about is being peaceful and loving mainly. that is what our religion is about. being a Wicca is way different then being involved in witchcraft. i have a 50 some year old Wicca that has told me that. but also witchcraft is totally different from satanism.

DjMalleck 2 years ago
Well, that is interesting. You misquote Jesus when you say that you don't judge. Jesus is very much in favor of judging. In fact, I Peter 4:5, II Timothy 4:1, and Acts 10:42 say that Jesus is the judge of both the living and the dead. Jesus said that He did not come to condemn, but to save. He came to tak the price for sin, but the fact is that there was indeed a price to pay; there was judgment and wrath that had to be satisfied. Those who follow Christ have a responsibility to judge...
