I have no money to buy it, but it does not seem too costly. How much do you think that costs for example, any musical instrument like a flute concerto, a cello, a violin, etc? For me it is the same. If you do not know how to use it, not buy it!

The problem with paying this kind of money for a digital camera body is how quickly it'll get superceded by something cheaper. What they should do is modularize it so the digital back and firmware can be updated independently.
@SLRist true...but its the same for any pro digital body...for myself as a professional its just the price of doing business. I'm sure next up for Leica will be improved High ISO specs, closer to D3s specs...with D3s ISO specs the M9 would simply dominate in low light photography...should have done that with the M9...maybe Contax has something up their sleeve for a "G3D": 21MP with killer High ISO specs...having a zooming viewfinder would be nice..but what about all those M lenses I have?
Leica has a micro lens in front of each pixel at the sensor, so all the light is getting absolutely vertically both in the center and on the sides of the sensor. This gives the picture a unique sharpness across the entire field. Non of the other cameras has this picture quality.
I really like Leica cameras, the old ones with film, those were sublime. They have no business in the digital world. Although leica glass is pretty sweet.
@ValueMSW same reason armani is expensive, i wont dis the lecia camera as it IS built with high quality and the lenses are wonderful, but if you ask me, yeah at this sum of money i would go for the nikon 3dx... unless you shot street photography and need something that can be unseen.

a 550d is way better than the m9,and with the extra 4000 you can buy L lens and some nice accessories

I love this model as they overcome the UV thing, but the drawback is that it doen't have Spphire glass as the M8.2 . .
