The only people that have any training are the crew that operates the ship the hotel staff dont have much. Its a cruise ship and passengers are not trained. So panic happens and people do stupids stuff and they die. Before my parents went on a Cruse I went over several safety items.

That ship was Princess of the Stars, that time there was a Tropical Storm, that was to sail from Manila to Cebu, that Captain Decided to sail, because they already knew where the Storm will head. but the Weather is unpredictable, the Tropical Storm Changes its direction towards them. There was also another Ship Sailing. a Superferry 8 i think. but the captain of the Superferry was Smart. He Anchored the Ship near the Batangas Port for them to Stay until the Tropical Storm will pass by.

Normally the typhoons turn North, Nobody thought it would continue West, but it did. Right up the center of the Philippine archipelago.

Some of the fishing towns along its path lost all their men and boys who were still out at sea working in their boats when the storm screamed through.
