Hannibal's army was not equipped to seige the city of rome and Hannibal constantly fought pro-roman italian tribes to keep the tribes that had already allied to him happy. If Carthage had properly supported Hannibal he would have also burned Rome to the ground as Alexander would have. Rome won because after cannae it refused to fight Hannibal in pitch battle

But he didn't just beat them in battle he annhilated the legions and there allied forces the reason why Hannibal ultimately lost just like Phyrrus is because the Romans outlasted them neither Hannibal or Phyrrus possessed the Resources needed to defeat the romans. Alexander would have had the power of an empire behind him the romans would not have been able to outlast him.

Hannibal and Alexander had alot in common both realized the strength of cavalry and both were masters of melting peoples of different cultures and fighting abilities into an effective fighting force. ive noticed that there are groups of followers on raptors side (and other against POM) and followers of POM, whilst i like POM, i cant help but feel that the other guys have valid points in some of their videos. firstly many people say POM is rude and a bad loser (but i dont believe this), and others say that (such as this video) POm goes by other names so if he loses, no one will post POM LOSES videos, which i find is true, in this he calls himself julius caesar, a bit nooby?

The bright side is, in shogun 2, since your general will be so custamized, (and you will have a 'profile') i think it will be impossible for him to hide behind a different name, because anyone who wants to see his record could look it up. Of course he could use a different genereal each time, but his units wouldn't advance much. He's still a good player

Raptor got his butt handed to him in that battle and PoM is nice to him by removing the shamful video from Youtube. So what is the natural thing to do when you are defeated and your enemy shows mercy? You whine and complain as to why you lost. And in return PoM puts up the video again. It isn't so bad to be defeated by PoM. He's a good general and he beats alot of guys so don't feel that you have to insault him because he out manuveered you.
@drnogood59 Raptor is actually really good. Better than PoM in my opinion. Raptor also beat PoM in a battle which PoM never uploaded. Also to say, Raptor trash talked PoM 2 years AFTER this battle. Obviously he's gotten better.
If you are going to use their archers (which are not the best in the game) & also you are going to insanely trow your cavalry (again Roman cavalry is not the best) then I recommend you to use The "Sarmatians"
Who in the entirely bloody hell takes 10 units of roman archers... they are not the best o the best in the game, plus he should take more infantry to battle
He wastes his cavalry in a very strong position (companion cavalry is stronger tha the roman praetors) plus the formations of PHALANX right at the corner of the main charge...

POM WAS a lot better than raptor in this case, but then again Raptor does have a point. POm only posts victories and fakes his name to hide defeats. i did that i could also claim a lot of stuff. still pom is a great player and he can do whatever he wants.
Raptor you overextended your cavalry by sending them ahead without support. By having the archers in front of his cav POM had you blow the energy of your charge on clearly disposable units. Then he surrounded and pounded your cav while using the charge bonus against a unit already in melee. You can't let that happen to your cav.

@ApelAndy It's hard to tell if PoM is a sore loser, if he never loses. Or at least never posts losing videos (only one i can think of). The bright side is, in shogun 2, since your general will be so custamized, (and you will have a 'profile') i think it will be impossible for him to hide behind a different name, because anyone who wants to see his record could look it up. Of course he could use a different genereal each time, but his units wouldn't advance much. He's still a good player

Raptor got his butt handed to him in that battle and PoM is nice to him by removing the shamful video from Youtube. So what is the natural thing to do when you are defeated and your enemy shows mercy? You whine and complain as to why you lost. And in return PoM puts up the video again. It isn't so bad to be defeated by PoM. He's a good general and he beats alot of guys so don't feel that you have to insault him because he out manuveered you.

@drnogood59 Raptor is actually really good. Better than PoM in my opinion. Raptor also beat PoM in a battle which PoM never uploaded. Also to say, Raptor trash talked PoM 2 years AFTER this battle. Obviously he's gotten better.

Romans = Great infantry...
If you are going to use their archers (which are not the best in the game) & also you are going to insanely trow your cavalry (again Roman cavalry is not the best) then I recommend you to use The "Sarmatians"

Who in the entirely bloody hell takes 10 units of roman archers... they are not the best o the best in the game, plus he should take more infantry to battle
He wastes his cavalry in a very strong position (companion cavalry is stronger tha the roman praetors) plus the formations of PHALANX right at the corner of the main charge...
All these factors result in a Crushing defeat...
I have learned a lot of strategy in your vids

POM WAS a lot better than raptor in this case, but then again Raptor does have a point. POm only posts victories and fakes his name to hide defeats. i did that i could also claim a lot of stuff. still pom is a great player and he can do whatever he wants.

Raptor you overextended your cavalry by sending them ahead without support. By having the archers in front of his cav POM had you blow the energy of your charge on clearly disposable units. Then he surrounded and pounded your cav while using the charge bonus against a unit already in melee. You can't let that happen to your cav.
