Same for me but it was for phantasy star 1. I played 2-4 just because Phantasy Star 1 is not only my favorite rpg of all time but video game of all time! :-) Phantasy Star 2 is probably the hardest rpg i have ever played though due to the looooooong dungeons, the sloooooow walking pace of rolf in the dungeons, and the every two step encounter of a monster in a dungeon! Overall, Phantasy Star 2 is an AWESOME game! :-)
My guess is that the developers of these games (including but not limited to the developers of Tekken series and SF series) are just lazy. I mean ITF is similar to other martial arts such as kick boxing, so it is much easier to put an ITF fighter into the game than a WTF fighter. Just imagine trying to have a WTF player in there and balance the characters so that the WTF character is nor weak or strong over other characters.
Juri is sooo badly like pullum purna out of street fighter ex 2 plus alpha (Check ouyt the dress and special moves of pullum and you will be surprised at the similarity) and viper out of street fighter 4 is almost exactly the same as vulcano rosso out street fighter ex 2 plus alpha. Both juri and viper are awesome characters but come on capcom, where the hell is the true originality

@steelgear Taekwon-Do practitioners use punches too, and in other videos of Juri she uses punches. Sure, they're not the main focus of her character, but she does still have them. =P
I know there are punches in Tae kwon Do (having done the martial art myself) the point was she didn't throw any punches at all in the game which leads me to believe she only strikes with kicks (but I could be wrong). Note that modern Tae Kwon Do tends to borrow a lot of upper body movements from Hap Ki Do (another Korean martial art)
Course that depends on WTF/ITF differences and whether or not static or sine-wave theory is used in the movements. XD There are, of course, a lot of similarities in the Korean martial arts in general, but meh, I digress. I'm just glad that some semblance of TKD is being featured in a Street Fighter game. =D
This really should've been DLC. I'm not paying for another game that's basically the same thing. It worked when I was a kid and they re-released SFII 500 times but my parents were paying for it then. I'm not spending my money on the same thing twice. Capcom fucked up.
What does that have to do with it? It should be a $5 add on. Am I going to wait for it to drop to $5? No, because it won't. I am not buying the same game twice. Comparing this to the PS3 makes no sense whatsoever. By creating the slim, Sony cut production costs and we're able to lower the price and start making a profit. Capcom is selling the same game twice but with a few more characters. Capcom is doing nothing but screwing people who already bought SFIV and refuse to buy it again.
1- SSF4 won't be full priced, it'll be around $40
2- Updates include: 8-10 new characters, more ultras and stages, bonus modes with a new and expanded online experience featuring 8-players lobbies, a new point system and new online modes.
3- The producers have announced that players that hold on to their original SF4 will see an extra surprise (though what that is, is still a mystery)
Thats what I've been reading. And actually just today I found out that capcom is prepping a special edition boxset for release as well.
It's suppose to contain: a Soudntrack CD with all character's themes. A promo DVD with all the trailers and promotional videos for SFIV and SSFIV and an Artbook.

That'd be quite a download. 10 additional characters, (Basically a 30% bigger roster), all characters get some new moves, new bonus stages, and 40% more stages to choose from. New rivalries, new cut scenes. And of course, every character has been rebalanced.
You'd be downloading the entire game over again. That'd be, what, a 6 gig download?
Not saying it can't be done, but it's not as egregious as some claim that this is some $5 / 100 meg patch.

Does Capcom really have no creativity left? Juri looks 80 per cent like Rose, and her moves are basically a mix of Ibuki and Hwoarang. And Adon and T. Hawk look exactly like they did 12 years ago.

I've been noticing this trend of having a ITF SKorean fighter in other games too. Hwoarang and Baek on Tekken are S. Korean ITF fighrers too.
I'm starting to think that the game makers choose ITF over WTF because making a WTF character would be quite complicated compared to ITF.
And at the same time, they don't make those ITF characters NKorean, but SKorean cuz of the negative connotation associated with NKoreans.

DeeJay is a good inclusion, the rest are just stupid, nothing about them or their fighting styles appeals to me at all.

Seriously Capcom should have gone more expansive in the characters, their designs and fighting styles. They've yet again kept it safe.

Being a Tae kwon do fighter Juri only uses a lot of kicks as I did not see her throw a single punch. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

@steelgear Taekwon-Do practitioners use punches too, and in other videos of Juri she uses punches. Sure, they're not the main focus of her character, but she does still have them. =P

I know there are punches in Tae kwon Do (having done the martial art myself) the point was she didn't throw any punches at all in the game which leads me to believe she only strikes with kicks (but I could be wrong). Note that modern Tae Kwon Do tends to borrow a lot of upper body movements from Hap Ki Do (another Korean martial art)

Course that depends on WTF/ITF differences and whether or not static or sine-wave theory is used in the movements. XD There are, of course, a lot of similarities in the Korean martial arts in general, but meh, I digress. I'm just glad that some semblance of TKD is being featured in a Street Fighter game. =D

This really should've been DLC. I'm not paying for another game that's basically the same thing. It worked when I was a kid and they re-released SFII 500 times but my parents were paying for it then. I'm not spending my money on the same thing twice. Capcom fucked up.

What does that have to do with it? It should be a $5 add on. Am I going to wait for it to drop to $5? No, because it won't. I am not buying the same game twice. Comparing this to the PS3 makes no sense whatsoever. By creating the slim, Sony cut production costs and we're able to lower the price and start making a profit. Capcom is selling the same game twice but with a few more characters. Capcom is doing nothing but screwing people who already bought SFIV and refuse to buy it again.

Couple points you may not be aware of.
1- SSF4 won't be full priced, it'll be around $40
2- Updates include: 8-10 new characters, more ultras and stages, bonus modes with a new and expanded online experience featuring 8-players lobbies, a new point system and new online modes.
3- The producers have announced that players that hold on to their original SF4 will see an extra surprise (though what that is, is still a mystery)
More than just a few new characters.

Thats what I've been reading. And actually just today I found out that capcom is prepping a special edition boxset for release as well.
It's suppose to contain: a Soudntrack CD with all character's themes. A promo DVD with all the trailers and promotional videos for SFIV and SSFIV and an Artbook.
All for $60

That'd be quite a download. 10 additional characters, (Basically a 30% bigger roster), all characters get some new moves, new bonus stages, and 40% more stages to choose from. New rivalries, new cut scenes. And of course, every character has been rebalanced.
You'd be downloading the entire game over again. That'd be, what, a 6 gig download?
Not saying it can't be done, but it's not as egregious as some claim that this is some $5 / 100 meg patch.

Does Capcom really have no creativity left? Juri looks 80 per cent like Rose, and her moves are basically a mix of Ibuki and Hwoarang. And Adon and T. Hawk look exactly like they did 12 years ago.

What world do you live in? KOF is sad as hell next to this. And kof12, while graphicly impressive, was a bare bones game that boasted terrible online play.

also how could one say KOF is better if latest KOF has only 22 characters and unlikely to get update...compared to 33-35 characters of Street fighter and much better gameplay and more original and creative roster...i always preffered games that have large character rosters, but thats not street fighter case, even if street fighter had only 20 characters and KOF 12 had lets say 40+ i still would buy SF cause its sooo much better...

Hi, i'm not sure I understand your question. I'll try to answer. SF4 and SSF4 are two different games. And can be played seperatly, no need to own 4 to play Super 4.
As far as "Noobs" go. Pray they come. The more ppl that buy ssf4 the better. That shows Capcom that the fans want more SF stuff!
