A friend of mine told me about a story where a cop purposely drove 10-15 mph under the speed limit to purposely hold up traffic flow in order to catch "speeders".

A co-worker of his passed the cop driving the speed limit, and he got a tcket for 46 in a 45 zone.

In court, the officer's defense was that he didn't have a right to pass a police car. The case was dismissed and the officer was chewed out by the judge.

The trooper should NOT be on the force anymore. He's a danger to society. He's not a trained MD, and as such has no idea as to the mother's condition. What if, by delaying them, the baby would have been born on the side of the road and there were complications? What if the Mother began hemorrhaging on a roadside without a doctor around? In my eyes, this police officer should be charged with endangering the life of the child and fired. I'm not saying all cops are a-holes, but unfortunately, giving an idiot a little bit of power can be a very dangerous thing. However, assuming they didn't have the instructions, then he would be within his duty to ticket them, yes. Heartless as it may be. Every pregnacy is different. I have two children and both were different in labor time and types. There are so many things that can go wrong during delivery. I don't remember hearing in the video if they had a phone to call an ambulance. I do remember hearing there was traffic so she probably went into labor while waiting traffic. I packed my suitcase 1 month before my due date so they probably already had theirs in the car too. There is too much to consider before we can judge this couple.
