I bought an "adorable" monkey from the comic book in the 60's. After it arrived, half starved and wild, making a mess of the house for 5 days. We were eating supper and it jumped up and peed on my Dads food. My Dad broke it's back over the kitchen chair. All he could do was lay on the floor and screech. My Friend and I took it over to his home and cut it's head off to stop the agony. If the back was really broke, the sound would drown out everything, even that woman's voice. I'll never forget it

Do you know we're the only species that allows our loved ones to live in agony (sometimes even prolonging it) when we have an incurable illness and death is going to eventually imminent? ALL other species either kill their own when they know they're suffering, or just allow them to die naturally.
