    xoexo

  • @edenbainbridge

I live to turn my poo green, lol, thanks!

  • YOu know something we eat in Sweden, which is really nice actually. May sound wierd. But we do spinach soup almost like this, but usally with frozen spinash hehe, and then you have boiled eggs in. So you instead of sourcream you serve it with an boiled egg cut in half, in the soup. It's really good actually :)

  • @TheMagnificentZianix

The egg would look nice in the center, thank you for that!

  • @freitasex Yeah def try it and see if you like it =) I love spinach soup.

  • any1 else see a smiley face in the olive oil

  • @youcreatea

    Wow, not till now!

  • I am loyal to, nutritionally dependent on spinach and on Swiss chard steamed just to wilt, served hot with a splash of apple cider vinegar. Good man, your Chard and Spinach Soup is an exotic departure, but I am determined to taste it. And will do.

But first, I tend to kill toasters and blenders. It just happens. Ready to try a new blender, a hand version. Any guidelines? I'm looking for an expensive, most likely, blender well-designed for a decade of hard labor.

    What say ye, Michael?

  • @sesanner

When buying something, my first place to look is Consumer Reports' Website.

I do like to buy from Amazon for convenience and is also a great place to look at people's ratings.

The immersion blend is the 1st one I have had, it is a Waring brand and the first time I have used it was in this video, it did blend the soup in 3 minutes.

Toasters, not really something that I use very much, I apologize.

    You may ask anything, thanks!

  • One of my biggest addictions - soup! Can't wait to try this one, though I might wait for the weather to cool down a little, it was 96 degrees today. And g'day to you too! Warm wishes as always, Q.

  • @qewtypants

Yes, your hot weather will continue for another 3 months probably.

  • perfect as usual. love your recipes. spices and whatnot are hard to find overseas. cheers from japan my friend.

  • @pmharl

    Thank you, I appreciate that!

  • Whoa when did you get the All Clad? I've been thinking about getting a set. Do you think there is a large difference between the cheaper stainless steel and the more expensive Copper Core? Thanks! :)

  • @wherethebeef7

Mine is not the copper core, never had that so I cannot comment on that version.

I like my stainless all clad and hope to get more of it sometime.

  • Ooh this soup looks great and healthy, good job! I really need a soup puree thingy? though. Maybe for my birthday.

  • @HomemadeCafe

I have wanted one for quite a while, finally purchased one.

  • When I saw the icon pic I was a bit scared...but it looks good.

  • @dreamer72fem

That is what I think when I look in the mirror, lol.

  • It looks extremely healthy! I've never eaten Swiss Chard. Hugs Michael!

  • @imperceptibleme

    Thank you Melissa :-)

  • Healthy soup for healthy souls.

  • @poobum50

    Yes, I agree and thanks!

  • I love my veggies as well but unfortunately lately the chard here at the local stores have been looking a bit too tired for my liking. The soup loooked great! Thanks Michael, MrChi-townstorm

  • @MrChitownstorm

  • @neurocosm

  • Green veggies are my favorite too! And made into a soup? Oh lordy! Yummo!

  • @rhosteph

Thank you Rhonda, means a lot to me.

  • At 2:05, I noticed that you said to add a 1/2 tsp of water to the rice. I'm pretty sure you meant salt ;)

  • @omongooses Haha, looks like somebody commented about this already

  • @omongooses

Yes, salt, I mess up in almost 50% of my videos, lol.

  • that looks delicious!!!

  • @ashllena

    Thanks :-)

  • Oh that looks so GOOD! TY for the recipe!

  • @changingmyself

    Thank you!

  • why is the rice needed?

  • @pudsey123

The rice makes the soup sort of creamy without using cream, thanks!

  • That came out beautiful! Thank you for the video.

  • @Blackicecold

    Thank you for watching!

  • Looks warm and delicious!! Thx so much for this recipe.

  • @ilikethewok

  • Welcome back. Thats a fancy good soup. You just reminded me I bought an emersion blender last year and its still in the box. Wheres the grilled cheese?haha, love me a crispy cheesy sandwich with soups.

  • @Scorpion11381

Thanks, I did post up last weekend if you missed it :-)

  • i was worried until the end. so glad you added the sour cream! lemon juice is a good tip for green vegetables....most all vegetables, in fact

    looks good

  • @lysippus

I am glad that I did not worry you forever :-)

    Thanks!

  • Good video! Just saw that you used extra virgin olive oil to cook and I thought you should know this (if you haven't already known)

    whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=dailytip&dbid=261

It talks about why you shouldn't heat extra virgin olive oil if possible

  • @sytan22

I do not use EVOO to saute with unless it is the only thing I have, it is a waste, thanks!

  • Nice video, Michael!:) When you told me about the soup, i wasn't convinced; however, your presentation and video could make me a believer!

  • @myrasmedia

    Could make?

  • Well if it came from Australia .. it must be good! I love how you said G'day mate! hahah .. love the colour of the soup .. very nice! :)

  • @CookingwithKarma

I want to appeal to my Aussie Subbers :)

  • Gday! to you from sydney australia :)

  • @garluns

    Gday to you mate!

  • I really enjoy green veggies too!! I have never eaten chard before!! I don't see it sold here in our local stores.

Is there some other leafy green I can sub?

Would it kill the recipe if I skipped the chard?

  • @jcrefasi1

I would skip the chard and the water, go to the broth and the spinach.

    Thanks!

  • @jcrefasi1

Sorry, you have to have the water for the rice, just reduce it by 1/2.

  • Haha you said a half.teaspoon of water, it.looked like ssalt thoughh"

  • @icefire57

I mess up all the time, lol.

  • What an interesting soup to make for st. pattys day!

  • @MyChefGreg
