ok...have you ever heard the old thing about...there is someone in the world that looks exactly like you they could be your twin?...whats that called...well anyways... my daughter looks like she IS this girls twin...with no exaggeration..different people that we have known for years when they watched 'the golden compass' called to ask me if "lyra' was my daughter...wish i could show dakota pics without it bein a public display. It would trip her out,i know my daughter is blown away by it.

the fight scene in the end looks like such fun when they were filming it!

everythings all weird because there is no music. The music in this film was wonderful (In my opinion.)

I was dismayed with this movie.2 juxtpose it's contents with Yale's "Order Of The Phoenix"(Of which i fell asleep watching) is 2 personify a "Poor Director". censorship of anti-christian content gives it "unreal" feel and genuine dearth of intensity as i felt when reading the beautiful creation done by Pullman.I give 3 out 10.somewhat because of the omission of climax scenes as in Asriel dungeon in the Land of the Bears.

I've read a few pages of the book, and now I cant wait to finish Harry Potter to start reading these set of books. I love it when books get made in to films, I just hope we dont have to wait like 3 years for the next one like we have had to with The Chronicles of Narnia

Yeah, they truly are the most amazing books not just for the immensely imaginitive ideas in them, but they are superbly written and the characters are so 3 dimentional that you really feel like you know and connect to them.

ya thats quiet true. its just how they made it and who they casted changes the movie. if u put someone other then dakoto as lyra or freddie as pan it changes the movie alot even if it is just the charectors

Yeah, I really don't like Freddie Highmore as Pan. He just doesn't have the right character in his voice for Pan, I don't like him as an actor anyway beacuse he doesn't have much expression in his voice and when he does I just can't take him seriously. I do like Dakota as Lyra though she is probably nearest enough to my vision of Lyra as anyone could be.

I'm just wondering where are the demonds, I've seen the sccene where the 2 animals change, but shouldn't all demonds be at all times with humans, like the monkey with kidman, and pantalion with lyra?

the demonds are added afterwards with CGI technology. you can possibly use a real animal.

No actually god is not in the book. The oldest angel claims to be the creator of everything and tells the angles after him he is god, but he is lying. Plus they don't kill him he dies; they release him from a prison and he turns into dust.
