  • Great song, it does sound a little like Ricky Nelson,

  • Catchy - nice rocker. Yes, there IS a hint of Ricky Nelson here! Len-G

  • @obg3leng3 Thank you Len!

  • Great tune to help stoke the rpm's.........fast car, why not make it move faster than anyone else dared to.......440 CU Chrysler power!!

  • Cool! I saw this over on chezfun's channel as one she rated. A nice record!

    Rhythm and vocal, snappy!

(never heard this one before, but I'm glad I did now)

  • Thank you Wally! If you scan down the comments you will see "Merrell Fankhauser" the artist of this tune responded when I first posted this, what a surprise it was.

  • I agree that this does sound like Ricky Nelson (I STILL have a crush on him). I agree with thebigfist that this is a Rock-a billy/Rock `n`roll crossover.

  • Rock n Roll angst!! LOVE it!!

  • Thats cool big brother

    Love that song.

    Dave,

  • Join the crowd my friend, thanks!

  • Super song! When it comes to Rock-a billy/Rock `n`roll crossovers,it doesn`t get any better than this!

  • I AGREE, It should have been a #1 hit world wide.

  • I agree.. I'm not big on the teen sound, but this is great

  • Thanks for this uploading! An original 45"!!

Don't kill me, but I'm not American so I barely know Ricky Nelson, instead I have all Merrell Fankhauser's lps and CDs (about 50 records). He's such a very talented artist!

  • I do this too and I use WAVELAB by Steinberg for heradication of "clicks" and "pops" and Wave Corrector by Ganymede Measuring Instruments for adjusting treble. I will transfer records from the ITTUSB turntable by ION soon ant it use AUDACITY but WAVELAB is far away the best and it will work great with the ITTUSB.

  • Wich medium your music come from... original 45's or CD's? This music (all of your stock) is crystal clear! It seems to be brand new 45' records!... It's exact? I also remark that ALL doo-wop lovers on YouTube with their collections are also in a stunning quality as yours!!! Special phenomenon!!!!

  • All 45s and LPs. I use Cooledit Pro 2000 with Clickfix plugin. Then I use MP3Gain to set the volumes, it's faster to load a batch of songs in MP3Gain than to use Cooledit to do them separately. I think now there are probably plenty of programs out there that can record and clean the vinyl if you did a net search. Cooledit & Clickfix happen to be my favorites. Whenever I post a song without the label or an LP jacket and use cars instead as my pics that means I don't have the record, just the MP3

  • Many Thanks Golly for helping to keep Merrell's music Alive bro! Warmest Alohas, Deb

  • Hi Deb, your more than welcome! Isn't it sooooo sad how much of this GREAT sound and talent never got the air play time it desearved.

  • Hi dowopper51, it really is Merrell, I know I massage his feet lol! :)

    woman of MU

  • Wow ,never thought I would hear my ancient song from 1964 on you tube!

    Cheers,

    Merrell Fankhauser

  • Merrell, if this is really you, yes, it desearves to be heard not only on you tube but on every radio station around the world! Fantastic song, let's keep it alive!

  • Hey Merrell! You've got a Swedish fan as well. Great song, did you ever do any more cuts in this style?

  • Yes ,the 1967 Fapardokly LP has many songs in the same style as "Too Many Heartbreaks".
