  • the san da fighter is too intimidated from the takedowns and not aggressive enough

  • mma and sanda are different sports, can't really compare.

though more and more sanda guys are moving to mma, should be fun, that is, after they go through a learning period and a couple of losses.

  • ahahh fake lol

  • what the heck they shuld have put this guy against a sanshou mma fighter who knew JIu jitsu too!!

  • China owns. I like America too though. Yeah I Agree with Goose.

  • in sanda fighting, it is not allowed to fight on the ground

  • I am glad he won, his opponent had a strong low but was keeping on fleeing.

  • this has a "lei tai" flavor.

When chinese guys would beat the shit outta each other, sometimes to the death, on a stand in the middle fo teh street

  • amateurs.. i would like to see sanda vs Fedor's SAMBO hehe cheap mma from china ..

  • give that chinese guy some bjj training and he's golden.

  • wow alot of u guys follow alot of myth's, lets be honest on accouple of thing's..against the average person who dont kno shit any style learned by someone whole heartedly can over come....get some1 who trains any striking art over and over who is is a physical specimen in terms of strength an speed..no matter how ridiculous the style is ie ( tae kwon do) has a good chance on beatin joe smoe..but against another athlete of the same caliber then it does matter who does wat...

  • By "Joe Schmo" do you mean someone who street fights or not? TKD may intimidate the hell out of your average stockbroker, but I'll take a HS hockey player of a TKD black belt any day.

  • RIIIIGHHHT, u go get some pimple faced horny young kid an put him up against a grown,Well defined, trained grown ass man who has any shred of muscle memory gained from years of havin ur body throw kicks above the waist....an then tell me what would happened

  • Anything could happen, but my money is on the guy used to the feeling of being punched in the nose. TKD is unique among *all* combat sports in not being a good foundation for MMA. Judo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Sanda, Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu are all good starting points for MMA. TKD is crap. Come to think of it, so is Sumo. Why? Not. Used. To. Getting. Punched.

  • Actually Anderson Silva's first martial art was Tae Kwon Do, and he credits it for teaching how to be highly mobile on his feet, something Muay Thai kinda lacks (they tend to stay put and take it). Cung Le is a Tae Kwo Do black belt, and it is the real reason he is so good with spin kicks. BTW you reasoning is very flawed. last time I checked wrestlers are not used to getting punched either, and boxer usually don't get kicked in the head.

  • shut the fuck up you are a real piece f idiot go to hell bitch!!!!!

  • sachamord is a fucking noob

  • jiujitsu is the best jiujitsu is the best jiujitsu is the best jiujitsu is the best jiujitsu is the best jiujitsu jiujitsu is the best jiujitsu is the best jiujitsu is the best long live jiujitsu jiu-jitsu!!! jiu-jitsu!!! jiu-jitsu!!! jiu-jitsu!!! jiu-jitsu!!!
  • jujitsu sucks

  • wow and the asian guy was doing so good

  • i love it when one person starts a chant and every one else gets in on it no matter what is going on, this seems to happen alot from the middle east to the far east. and the fact that i dont know what they are saying some how makes it seem even more cool.

  • They were chanting for the Chinese guy to win or, "or keep oil/gas" to be more accurate.

  • y would the be saying 'keep oil/gas'

  • They are probably saying the fighters name followed by "jiayo" (pinyin sp?) which is sort of like the Chinese version of "keep going!' my Chinese girlfriend told me that if you translate it, it means "keep oil", or "don't run out of gas.". She even says it when we are doing it lol

  • its a good thing your not retarded and start pouring oil/gas on her....unless....(O_O)....(o_o)

  • In individual fighting, Jujitsu fighters will definitely beat stand up fighters who don't know how to defend the take down. In Group fighting, Jujitsu fighters will be the victims. Anyway the fight was so great. Chinese man will come back stronger for next time!

  • that american got hit against the leg allot and he was cripple

  • the american in that fight was shit on standup.. its gta be said.

all those idiots saying muay thai wood beat sanshou, i train in both of them and they're massively similar, the only real difference in the standup that would make any difference is that you're only allowed a very limited clinch time in sanshou

  • wow!

    great videos!

when is the next MMA event coming up?

  • Look back in to the history when the Chinese was training in Kung Fu fight on streets or stages without rules. They fight until one give up!!

  • Looks more real than WWF. LOL.

  • lol

  • And "with throws in San Shou actually counting for such high points that you could almost knock out a San Shou fighter", almost being the keyword. You could work a San Shou fighter over and win first round hand down, if he throws you twice in the second round, it's almost impossible to win that round, and if he throws in the third, you could beat him until he can't tell what day it is and still lose the match on points.

  • I've trained Muay Thai since 2001, 4-1 record in Amateur fights, Oriental rules (no elbow, clinch for knees, inside-to-outside leg trip allowed). I switched over to Vale Tudo now and am competing MMA rules (0-1 in professional MMA at local level).

  • fuck u circleintheround the american was the last one standing so it doesnt matter fag. cant say that out of the ring.

  • San Da is the chinese adaptation to Muay Thai. It has roots in the chinese boxing arts, but at it's core, like Burmese boxing and American Kickboxing, it all roots back to Muay Thai. Alot of good San Shou and San Da fighters fight in Lumpinee, in Thailand. This guy was not a "good" San Da fighter, though. He was a cuatious San Da fighter. The other guy was not a good Thai kickboxer or jujutsuka, just decent at both. You could see the windup on those kicks.

  • San Da does not come from Muay Thai... where do you get that from???

  • Sanda don`t roots in muay thai, sanda roots in the real fights of kung fu masters in china back in the time when they don`t do sport competitions, only man vs man without rules. With the time, they develop a sport - sanshou!

  • San Da was created by Chinese gov't funded programs to beat Muay Thai at it's own game, so to speak. While it is true that it was developed out of Kung fu, look at it's strikes and kicks, the hip turnover, clinch, etc. San shou is the natural extension meant to introduce throws, with throws in San Shou actually counting for such high points that you could almost knock out a San Shou fighter and he'll win from throws.

  • When you knock someone out in a sanda fight, you are the winner, don`t matter how much throws the opponent made! You fight something?

  • San Shou like to throw down opponent but don't have finishing move. none of them is good enough for mma. and would not win against muay thai under K1 rules. that's why you don't see any chinese in k1 or mma.

  • Huh? Didnt Bao Ligao knockout his thai opponent? Knees and elbows were allowed too.

  • That's right!!

  • theres a finishing move u stomp n kick the shit out of em after the thorw step on their nuts if u have 2

  • Actually it was created with Russia's help in the early 1900s as a military program. It combined sambo and chinese martial arts techniques. It was only recently adapted for a sport in the 1980s. The military system has submissions just like judo/sambo as well as elements from western boxing. So it had less to do with muay thai and more to do with judo/sambo/systema

  • Since when? Americans win in MMA all the time standing. Amir Rahnavardi trained Muay Thai and BJJ, used BJJ to get back up off the ground and guard takedowns, and he won almost all of his fights standing. He delivered picture perfect roundhouse kicks, destroyed alot of grapplers legs and heads with them. So, Americans can't win standing?

  • it's a commercial campaign

  • Sanda fighters should stay in sanda until they learn jiujitsu, sambo, catch wrestling, etc. Sanda's great - awesome kicks, very cool throws - but it's not enough, alone, for an MMA event. If Chinese fighters learnt some jiujitsu and then adapted it, using traditional qin na skills, supplemental training methods, and just worked fucking hard, then China might regain a little more pride in the fighting world.

  • My Sanshou school also teaches BJJ as a compliment.

  • The white boy sucks

  • The problem he had wasn't getting hit. His opponent's defensive strategy was to escape out of bounds.

  • That american guy doesn't know how to fight! I would be mad if a guy just kicks the shit of me and i only finished him with a choke...

  • Well, that american guy seems like he knew how to fight. He waited until he got the opponent where he wanted and finished the fight just like that. A choke could kill, a kick won't. Unless off course you offer your neck...

  • chinese dude has Nice kick but no clinch or ground skills. Both would get murdered by professional fighters...

  • Who needs a cage... When you are on the streets there is no ref and there won't be a cage.

  • Well thats how it goes if your ground skills sucks :)

  • fzeeshan : the cage became popular through UFC. in many MMA tournamesnt there is no cage (like pride) wich make takedowns and standing up a lot harder.

  • WTF???

  • kung fu just means martial arts, there is like a million kung fu styles including grappling ones.

In the end it is just about the fighter and how well rounded they are.

that american better learn to check kicks and keep his hands up or it may not go so well next time

  • This is a joke. Where is the cage?

  • A lot of sanda fighters are bad asses but the Chinese Gov't is notorias for putting the best sanda fighters against non chinese amature athletes to make the Chinese look good.

  • "sanda" fighter had no ground skills. this was no doubt a lesson for him

  • Nice win Evan, made him pay. Though there are about 6 more times you could have countered and dropped him with a right cross while he throws that leg kick. As the trainer was yelling "He wings it up! I can see it".

  • jus bcuz the guy is chinese don me hes strickly kung fu... his team is black tiger muay thai. china isnt alll kung fu n shaolin, they train in many different styles as well.

  • Well done Evan! Good job! Great debut win.

  • boring.

  • It looked like the guy was doing Muay Thai instead of Kung fu (chinese guy that is)

  • Yes he had better kicks than Kung Fu fools have...

  • Indeed, but it was actually a Sanda Fighter. Or a San Shou. Which is pretty lethal kung fu. You can find clips all over youtube, in which they usually beat Muay Thai and Kyokushin Karate artists..

  • This is a version of Kung Fu that actually looks good.

    Go San Shou! :)

  • Indeed. However many people argue if it was made recently or if it really was made a looong time ago with its ancient cousins...Some call it a rip off of Muay thai because its soo effective. (they beat thai fighters...just type in Liu Hailong on the youtube search =O )

  • Wow... That chinese guy was a stick. He had some nice kicks, but no ground work. He gave his back to him. Nice rear naked, but you should do some work on more varieties of takedowns or others ways to set up. Work on that stand up, but from what I see its pretty good. Good job and nice win.

  • ...chey, we chinese who are fed with a steady diet of TV kungfu, are not used to being hit in the face, or taken down to the ground....and we love our pride too much, especially my brothers there in china, thats why the chinese opponent stormed off

  • You would be surprised my fellow countryman. As to having too much pride, I just have the impression that Sanda fighters and others all seems to be cocky as hell, mayeb it's the whole "face" thing.

  • Damn that other guy had fast kicks going for him that's it.

  • I don't like cage-less MMA. They gotta be like "Ok.... don't go outside this area. That's pretend lava out there, you see. Don't go in the lava."

  • HAHAHA! Oh, man, I know EXACTLY what you mean!

  • You really need to learn takedowns. you should practice nothing but for about a month or so to ingrain it in you.

  • well done evan!

  • I didn't get what he said at the end. Good match.
