Great bomber, but I think the British Avro Lancaster of 1942 could carry as many bombs as the B29 which came into service much later in 1944. both at just over 20,000lbs.

It was sooooo good, the Soviets copied this design in their Tupelov TU-4, (NATO codename "BULL").

The lanc at 22,000lbs and the B29 at 22,000.
