  • Talk to any Tottenham Hotspur fan that saw Duncan Edwards play and they will tell you he was one of the best English players they ever saw. At 21 he was only just getting going and would have made the England World Cup winning side of 1966 better. I never saw him play but would have if he had lived and that is my loss. COYS. R.I.P

  • hi with through what family are you related to him becuase heis my great grandad

  • @MiniplanetloverSacha how can yue be his grandchild if he had no children?

  • @AbidAli1997 shes a liar

  • Im proud to say i support Manchester United! Thats all i have to say.

  • @MrDanielking25 righto mate, and what did YOU personally achieve? what have YOU personally done that makes coming on here and taunting a tragedy justified? nothing. you're just scum.

  • R.I.P to all the Munich dead

  • WHEN SOMEONE LIKE BOOBY CHARLTON SAYS DUNCAN EDWARDS WAS BETTER THAN HIM THATS ENOUGH FOR ANYONE

  • duncan edwards was a legend and never reached his heights,he would have played in the 66 world cup,i was 9 in 1958 and i was devastated when i got up for school that morning and my mother told me,i went to his grave 6 feb 2008 and all the emotions came back from when i was 9 years old

  • Edwards was a legend, but ni way in the class of Pele or Best, thinking he was is just sentimentality gone wild

  • @Queenwraith what is it with you and George Best?!?!

There are fucking loads of players better than Best

  • @69salford69 Nothing, it's just blatant that he's in a different class to the sort of players you keep mentioning above him as a 17 year old.

  • @Queenwraith The sort of players that WON TROPHIES FOR THEIR TEAM

  • @69salford69 So Best never helped MUFC win anything?

  • @Queenwraith of course he did, but not as much as Giggs - which makes him the better player

  • @69salford69 teams win trophies single players how good there are at football is based on ablity and showen that ablity althe time best had more of it than giggs

  • @G1S1W best might have more ability than Giggs........but Giggs has been playing at the top for TWENTY YEARS!!!!!

  • @69salford69 so playing longer does not make a player better man come on, learn to start judging players right you judge how good a single player is on ablity teams win trophies mate.

players get pickerd in there starting 11 on ablity not trophies they won.

  • @G1S1W Let's look at another example.

Who is better, Pele or Ronaldo (Brazil of course)

Pele won three world cups, and Ronaldo only won two world cups... but teams win trophies so Ronaldo is the all-time leading world cup goalscorer.....ever

But Pele goes down as the greatest....because he won more. simple as that.

Maradona will always be better than Messi.....because he was a winner.

  • @69salford69 wrong pele goes down as the better player because hes seen to have more ablity, there is players rated above ronaldo that never even played in a world cup like di stefano. its fucked up to jusge a players ablity based on trophies many an average player has played in great sides that win trophies.

lets say man city win the premier league 4 times in the next 5 years will that make gaerth barry a better player than steven gerrard?

  • @G1S1W LOL!! yes absolutely.

Gareth Barry IS better than Steven Gerrard, hence his place in the England team, hence his place in the Man City starting line up, hence Steven Gerrard playes for a team that can't get into Europe

HOW do you judge ability? Ronaldinho had more ability than most but he was one of the shittest players I've ever seen. He would fuck the TEAM for himself. Just like George Best.......!!!!!!

I know what makes a great player. Ryan Giggs fucking owns George Best

  • @69salford69 wow haha pathetic comment gareth barry is an average player hes no where near the level of ablity of gerrard, hes never been favored over gerrard for england, gerrard spent just about the whole of last season injuried and most of this, remind me when barry was ever seebn to be 1 of englands first 2 choice cm over gerrard.

  • @69salford69 pathetic again how the fuck was ronaldiho shit he might never have been hard working but give him a ball and he'd win games for his team and set up goals again pathetic how the fuck does giggs own best? stop looking at how to judge a players ablity and judge it right best played in a great man utd team so did giggs, giggs played longer his team won more trophies how the fuck does that make giggs better when you look at the fact best scored more goals a season than giggs

  • @G1S1W You're saying Giggs' team helped him win more trophies.....but the team has COMPLETELY CHANGED in every position about four times and Giggs has kept his place for 21 years........if there was a better player than Giggs, then Fergie would have done something 11 years ago when Giggs was getting to his 30s

You still haven't told me HOW to judge ability.....you probably think Messi is better than Ronaldo because you think dribbling ability is more important than shooting ability

  • @69salford69 not being rude but can yue lot stop commenting because yur kinda ruinin the video

  • @AbidAli1997 You thick cunt, I havent been on this video in two weeks....and now Im here making a comment in reply to you asking me not to comment

    You fucking dickhead LOL

  • @69salford69 haha you tell him mate kinda weird he gave that comment to you all hes doing is bringing you back to the video haha

  • @G1S1W lol i know he must be absolutely thick

  • @69salford69 also best got 150 goals for man utd in like what 10 years of playing at man utd giggs has even less in 21 years at man utd, best won the european player of the year giggs never, best scored more goals per season than giggs and you even agreed once that best had more talent, so looking at it from the single player point of view best was the better player and had a bigger impact and influence on his team fact

  • @69salford69 read my other comments and you don't know how to judge players you judge them based on what teams are judged on you judge giggs over best on what 10 other team mates helped him win, how about doing it the right way and judging on what impact and performence the single player brought to his team thats how you judge a player on his talent, impact and peformence and best had more of 3 than giggs

  • @69salford69 messi is a winner to infact hes won more troophies than maradonna did, so by your logic he should be better.

but you have a weird way of judging players great players more often than not won trophies because being great players they would have played in great teams, to judge whos better based on trophies is pathetic you need to look at there ablity they showed.

  • @69salford69 so if you were man utd manager right now you would pick the starting 11 based on whos won the most trophies?

  • @69salford69; I have to agree with Pele, he said George Best was the Best, I am a LFC supporter but saw Best many times in the 60's. He is the most gifted footballer I have ever seen.

  • @69salford69 Ok, I'm all ears. Name a player better than Best? Suppose you're gonna say Giggs?

  • @Queenwraith; Charlton say's he was in that class!

  • I hope everyone realises his calibur.. it would be like messi or pele to die before they hit big

  • @MrJasonrolfe That's the thing nobody will ever know how good this guy could have been...

  • is it just me but does he look like gerrard abit... thumbs up if you agree

  • love you duncan the west midlands monster you will be missed and known as the best player who ever live.

  • A true legend and i'm not a utd fan, but plain to see class is class. Would Bobby Moore of played for for England had this lad lived? The game i loved as a lad is gone it's a patty cake business just taking every penny from the fans who don't realize that can change it if they so wish, make it again the people's game Rip Duncan.

  • i live in this legends last known address in gorsehill, stretford, manchester, it is an honour to know he once lived in my house and i also have a plaque dedicated to his name witch was unvailed a 3 weeks ago by sir bobby charlton and dickie bird

    R.I.P to a Legend

  • The Flowers Of Manchester You Played your Part In our 19 Times Champions RIP

  • I wish I could of been around to see this era of football and the players Manchester United had. Tonight the boys are going out to add to the history of the greatest club in the world. Glory glory.

  • This is not the place for trolling

  • i hate feeding the imbecile trolls and listening to the sad chants from the leeds and manchester city about munich and being a munich. its sad and pathetic. it shows the difference that even though liverpool made loads of songs about it we never sing about hillsborough or heysel. one last thing duncan edwards survived the munich crash and died weeks later from kidneys problems caused by the crash.

  • R.I.P to those eight who lost their lives in the tragic events in Munich.. you will be forever loved, and never forgotten.

  • I'm not a Manchester United fan. But I respect them and love their History. No club can touch them. Club of the people.

  • my great grandfather said that he was the greatest player to ever touch a football and he saw best, maradonna and pele so to even be considered in the that frame must mean he was something special, just a shame he didn't get to show even more people what a special player he was

  • how can you not like it he was englands greatest player

  • Rot in hell you overrated headless sack of shit.

  • Never got to see him play but he was said to have been the best EVER

  • Whoever made that last comment is obviously a complete to@&er!! Duncan Edwards was a legend and you should have more respect!! Leeds fan probably.....

  • I heard he's still wandering around hell looking for his lost head. Such a sad story....NOT

  • I'm currently reading on Man U by Jim White. Great book, which I recommend. It's called "Manchester United, The Biography". I'm from America, and I wanted to find out more about Man U, and it's fascinating. Especially on Duncan Edwards, R.I.P., and the rest of the team that lost their lives in Munich. Moving.

  • There's no doubt in my mind that, had he lived, Duncan Edwards would have been the man leading England to the World Cup in 1966. He isn't given the recognition he deserves because he never reached his full potential. But if he had, he would have been spoken in the same breath as the best defenders of all time. I.E. Moore, Maldini, Carlos Alberto.

    R.I.P Duncan Edwards.

  • is my first time when i hear about this player... nice player uf so young :(

  • as a MANU fan..i really wish he lives a little longer...he will definitely help MANU surpassing Real Madrid's record in Europe...

  • @zozo2341 real fans don't call the club "manu" good job you fake.

  • can't believe the games he played for 21!

  • how can somebody that stocky run that fast and keep their balance too? He's like the Fat Ronaldo, but from midfield.

  • My Mom was going out with Duncan when they both lived down the Priory and before he was trialed by MUFC. She said that he always had a ball with him and was forever tapping it up on his foot etc. He was signed by MUFC as a young teenager and they lost touch after that.

  • @henllancp oh cool did she ever see him play

  • @henllancp he couldve been your dad.

  • greatest of em all....one an only Duncan edwards aka 'the tank'....i promise i will bring big Dunc back to ur memories..... to all utd fans and footy lovers...wait for my tribute..on Duncan ED... dedicated to u all Man utd and england fans

  • Comment removed

  • great tribute

  • For everyones information there is a museum room dedicated to duncan in dudley town centre , opposite the library , in it is a display of his england caps and man u shirts and also medals and newspaper headlines , videos etc its well worth a look , and its a good tribute to a legend !!!

  • he is not ur relituve he is my relitive

  • The tipical english player : great phisique, good technique, intelligent and, above all, a huge heart.

Everybody, english or not, who loves football loves Duncan.

    Greetings from Italy

  • Take a bow,Big Dunc..Forever Remembered..

We are Manchester United and we will never die..

    - Manutd fan from India..

  • Ya, bro. whereabouts in India are you from? I visit India twice a year for my vacation and the people there are very knowledgeable about football :)

  • @ellycat

    Mumbai,Cheers mate..

  • As a red all my life this brought a tear to the eye. Football got robbed that february day. They will never be forgotten, we can only dream and imagine how good that team WOULDVE been.

  • My grandpa, albeit a United fan, knew his football and played to a good level and the stories he told me about Duncan Edwards. Playing for the youth team and the first team in the same week. Played every position, etc. When he said I'd never see anyone like him he was right. But he never got to see Rooney who might be cut from a similar cloth...

  • My Father named his first born Duncan Edward - ManU lives strong in my family Glory Glory Man United

  • I find it spectacular that your father named his child after the great Duncan. However, you should know that the term "ManU" is a term first used by the West Bromwich Albion supporters chanting "ManU are ManUre - rotting in your grave" in reference to Edwards. So Man United fans should in my mind never use the term. Espacially when talking about Duncan Edwards. Not trying to school you, I just thought you should know. Glory Man United indeed

  • Thank you for that I never knew that and will be sure to tell all my other friends who support this great Club.

  • The last line up near the end, very poignant. Moving. We'll never die

  • Thanks for sharing!

    Brilliant video.

    We´ll never die.

  • LOVE the pic @ about 2:11 of Boom-Boom training w/Matthews on England duty. Is the guy on the right Wilf Mannion? It's hard 2 tell w/the upload res. & the the grainy b&w photo. Plus. I'm an old, half-blind codger anyway! ;D

  • THE LEGEND FAMILY....NO the man on the right isn't Wilf Mannion...known as "Golden Boy" for his silky skills as an inside forward... wonderful player would be PRICELESS in todays market.

Guy on the right is WILLIAM AMBROSE WRIGHT...known as BILLY WRIGHT of Wolverhamprton Wanderers and ENGLAND. He was the first player to get 100 caps for England - eventually got 105and captained us 90 times. An AMAZING RECORD. GREAT player. Married to Joy Beverley of 50's music stars "The BEVERLEY SISTERS.

  • @billstroller: Hey, thanx for the info mate, I know who Wright was: he was one of my fave England players & I saw him play for both Wolves & England on more than one occaison. IK who Mannion was as well, I saw the "GB" play live also. I just couldn't make out who it was in the still w/Big Dunc & Sir Stan. But, I do appreciate your help in identifying Wright in the photo/still.

  • Could you tell me more about Duncan Edwards... Some great stories? how tall and how heavy he was? And his abilitys: was he fast? how was his technique, dribbling and more...?

    Thank you verry much!

  • totaalvoetbal, I posted on your channel/ PMed u some answers to your questions about the great "Big Dunc" Edwards? Did u ever get them?

  • amazing

  • An amazing player.

  • For fuck sake why argue on a video about someone who lost there life at 21? It's not called for and you need to grow up.

R.I.P Bic Dunc and all the Munich Dead.

  • I was taught the history at 5 years old at The Priory Primary school ,the same school Duncan went to 40 years earlier, I still hope the kid's are still being taught about him there today as the story is very moving and it turned me in to a Manchester United fan forever.

I always shed a tear when i watch old footage of him as nobody in my life as inspired more than our local Hero Duncan Edwards R.I.P

  • great story! thanks. :)

  • you faggot your from germany, dont disgrace Duncan's name you donught.

  • i don't disgrace his name, i am just mocking those people who try to catch some of his stardom by claiming they once met his gardener's dog.

    stupid people -just like you

  • oi you moron, i never said i did you donut, german fuck, just piss off man i dont know why im wasting my time.

  • i know why you do.

    you are stupid. :(
