Hearing this configuration described as a "Rogallo" wing I am shocked yet again to realize the extraordinary hoax that Bill Bennett and Bill Moyes perpetrated concealing the now established fact that it was John Dickenson of Australia who invented this wing. There is scant evidence that the American Francis Rogallo had anything at all to do with creating the "pandemic virus" that spread the sport of hang gliding around the world. It is not a Rogallo wing. It is a Dickenson Wing.
Nice to see all the Wasp logos ;-) My dad, uncles and grandfather were the guys behind Waspair. As a child I spent more time sitting around on windy hills than I did at school ...
I've fond memories of the Haynes brothers who supplied me with my first hang glider (229B3)and I sold Wasp hang gliders for them in those days. Was in contact with Robin a few years ago but lost touch again. I'm the one in the video with the orange flying suit on board the red and blue Wasp C4. Still flying - running a paragliding school in my spare time and getting the occasional hang glider flight (on modern machinery)!
Oh this is good stuff. Good to see the Cobra (yellow /white /red). I learn't to fly on one of these. Ah those were the days.. would i go back to flying one?.. not a chance in hell! :-)

Ah, memories of my first flights on a standard Bennett. We were on our own. Don't fly higher than willing to fall ( ! )

Glad I found this. I haven't seen so many standards in one video. Nice to see the prone pilot.

Nice to see a rare video of the early days ;-) The unmistakeable flapping sails of the small A frame Wasp 2B's still rings in my ears!

Even though it says Robin Youngs Hill it was actually Agnews Hill which is not far from Larne.
