@mitrusa Obviously it was a joke, perpetuated by lack of knowledge or (le gasp) care about France. Colonization by many nations has presented serious problems to many different parts of the world. A few million is indeed a tragedy, but is overshadowed by, say, WWII, where 60 million died.
