  • Can I use this technique for fondant to cover my cake? If so, when I roll out the fondant, is there any difference? Thank you...[ Your work is amazing..]

  • @y3nltv I don't see why you can't use it to cover a cake. You'd be working with strips so you could either:

    1. Roll the strips and join/stick them together once on the cake, doing each strip seperately until the cake is completely covered, OR:

    2. (see next post >)

  • @y3nltv

    2. Roll all the strips you think you'll need slightly thicker then the finished depth for covering, then stick the strips together and roll out the full piece to the thickness need to cover and cover the whole cake in one. (I've not done this so can not be sure of the practicality of doing it, but would think you'll have to be concous of the fact that the joins maybe weak spots, especially if you've not stuck them together well)

  • Could not find the chestnut or other color you used. Is there another color in ther americolor line maybe that I can use? Love your work.....

  • @forhisglory723 Not too familiar with all the americolors, but any brown with a creamish background looks good and creates a great effect

  • could you do it in different colours?? as in all in blue?? xx

  • @bellafroggy You can use blue if you want, that's great for windows of cars makes a it look like it's reflecting light.

If you want it to look like wood that's been stained blue it's look ok.

  • @MysticalMischief thanks x

  • Great video, I'd wondered how to get this effect, and now I know :-)

  • Brilliant! Thank you so much! Where do you get those spacers?

  • @hewitt275 Hi There, the spacers I use are offcut's of perspex. For this technique you could use kebab stick :O)
