remember playing in Dickinson ND @ the ESQUIRE club after he made it big. was probably one of the best gigs I've ever done. Wicked Sensation was the band. The two biggest artists were Mitch and Jon Secada....lol I have played all over the U.S. since and can still remember drinking 100.00 shots at the Esquire.
So THIS is the song I keep remembering; all I could thnk of was the lyric "You've been lookin' for Heaven, but Hell is all that you found." Now that I know the lyric belongs to this flawless melodic rock track, I WILL hit the "like" button. Delicious song.

He was never officially recognised as being in the band as they just jammed together but like other have said, Malloy pulled out in 1996 because the band reunited with David Lee Roth at the MTV awards and all the fans thought there'd be another Classic VH lineup. Literally anything they released after that without Dave would've done badly. And VH3 took the bullet, and it did do badly. Sad but true.
I must say that I don't share the sentiment that Malloy would've been a good addition to VH. He has a very generic hair metal voice. It could just be that his music is like cheap beer compared to the champagne of VH. Just the same, I'd like to hear the demos - perhaps I'd be proven wrong.

I read in an interview that he was gung ho on singing for VH, but after the MTV awards fiasco of '96 he declined. He said with the fans seeing Dave on stage, they would never accept anyone else but Dave as singer (he was right too). A wise choice on his part (he saves face & Gary took the media pounding).
They chose him, he quit because of that stupid stunt with Roth so that Best of Volume 1 would sell better. That appearance with Roth damaged them beyond reckoning, so that basically before 2007, there was nothing good from the VH camp. Maybe Malloy could've seen them to a good millenium at least.

He's from Dickinson, ND. He used to be into heavier stuff. He let stardom get to his head though. I saw him in 2001 or 2002 (can't remember) up at Rock N' The Hills and he really had that 'You are not worthy to be in my preasence' attitude. Great musican though, bummer that he didn't get the public chance to show what he could have done for Van Halen.

I know the cassette as I also have it. I bought it after only reading the lyrics and reading a bit about Mitch in a music magazine about 16 years ago. Mirror, Mirror is a powerfully written song. Mitch is magnificent!
Mitch Malloy is actually a personal friend of my principal, so we [him, our guitar club, and a his 2 classes] are takin a trip to see him play on monday :)
It all started for me with Mitch Malloy back in 1993 and after reading the lyrics to this song in a music magazine I went str8 to the record store and bought the cassette - no cd's of it at that time!
Despite all.. your still the best. Period.

you know mitch Malloy was with Van Halen in 1996 he only recorded Demos with them. I think the year was 1996.

I`ve discover this guy because some friend of mine on the 90´s. In 2001 he sang here in Madrid, it was awsome. Nice concert. Very friendly guy.

I know the cassette as I also have it. I bought it after only reading the lyrics and reading a bit about Mitch in a music magazine about 16 years ago. Mirror, Mirror is a powerfully written song. Mitch is magnificent!

It all started for me with Mitch Malloy back in 1993 and after reading the lyrics to this song in a music magazine I went str8 to the record store and bought the cassette - no cd's of it at that time!
